Theme: the message or meaning behind a literary work. It must be stated as a FULL SENTENCE. For example:

• Good triumphs over evil (Harry Potter).

• Simple, everyday people can be heroes (The Hobbit).

• Difficult choices are part of growing up (The Outsiders).
