October Issue Welcome from Rachael Hi everyone and welcome to the first issue of Wood- side Word. This our news- letter just letting you know a little but more about us, the horses, and events at Woodside. It was a busy summer at the yard with several activi- ties happening. We had 7 Own A Pony days with doz- ens of people enjoying ac- tivities such as grooming, tacking up, Hacking and mucking out. We did two evening hacks through the woods with a bar-b-que afterwards. Thanks to Richard and Sarah for the cooking. Over the bank holiday we had the Hog Roast night. Whilst the weather was a little cool everyone soon got warm racing on the inflatable ponies. Our Thursday night’s be- came very popular with the Horseball nights. Then with the jumping eve- ning. Congratulations to Cloe & Maja on Frankie & Coco. Name: Rachael Flintoff

Birthday: 15th June

How did you get into horses? My aunt had a horse and I used to help her with him. I then helped out at a local riding school, and went to Brackenhurst to gain qualifications in horse management. By this time I was an instructor at the riding school, and shortly after I started The Old Rectory Livery Yard. I then left the riding school when my freelance teaching in-creased. A couple of years ago I was then given the opportunity to buy Wood-side, and the rest as they, is history.

Favourite horse of all time? Well if I can’t have Buster, then it would have to be two Kerry’s. The first Kerry was a Chestnut who I used to ride years ago and you

could do anything with her. The second one was a Grey who one of my liveries owned. Her jump was out of this world as she was so bold.

Favourite Horse Product? That has to be sweet itch rugs. Both Buster and Spirit suffer from sweet itch and this helps them so much in summer.

Favourite Song? Red Red Wine by UB40

Favourite Movie? Beaches

Favourite Drink? Tea, I can’t function in the morning without it. And it needs to be a big mug, a tea cup just won’t do. Of course at the night time then the occa-sional glass of chilled Rose please.
