As property sales and building progress advance ata steadily increasing rate, the Customer RelationsDepartment is expanding to keep pace. Thisdepartment will now come under the umbrella of thenewly formed management company, Pebble BeachServices S.A. (see back page), but the establishedformat will not change. Now employing fourpersonnel and a secretary, this section deals withhandovers of apartments to owners, on-goingmaintenance and handles general after-salesenquiries.

One service that thedepartment provides toowners is the provision offurnishings. Furniturecollections are preparedfor each Project to enableCustomer Relations to offera comprehensive service.This service includesdelivery, installation andquality control whichenables owners to furnishtheir properties with theminimum of inconvenience.

A wide choice of stylesand fabrics ensure thatthere will be a high degreeof individuality as well as avariety of furnishings to suitall tastes and all budgets.

300 AND RISINGSales of apartments at Pebble Beach Village havetopped the 300 mark. On average, during 1987, oteproperty a day has been purchased and there is nosign of this trend changing. A quick look at theoverall plan of Pebble Beach Village can be usefulin charting the success of the development.Project 1, Aries,overlooking the 6th fairwaywas completely sold outseveral months ago andthe majority of apartmentsare already in use.Project 3, Gemini, whichoverlooks the 11th and13th fairways is also soldout with the construction ofthe first phase alreadycompleted.In Project 4, Leo, whichoverlooks the 12th greenand the proposed 300berth yachting marina, 50%of the first two phases arealready sold,In project 5, Virgo, thefirst phase is also sold outwith completion due forJanuary 1988. The secondphase is 70% sold.

In its unrivalled position atthe very edge of theAtlantic Ocean, ourprestigious project 6,Libra, with its' luxury villa1

CONSTRUCTIONThe speed of construction is not only attributable to oursales success but also to a management team thatbelieve in investing in professionals and technology.Since our last communication, the management team hasincreased in size with three new 'aparejadores' (quantitysurveyors) who are responsible for different constructionprojects, Due to some of the problems of obtainingsupplies in Tenerife (due to its location and the hugedemand for building materials) a full time buildingsupplies purchaser has been appointed and additionaladministrative staff have been employed to helpovercome these problems.

Investment in machinery has also been considerable. Inaddition to the JCB Telescopic acquired earlier this year,we have recently purchased a JCB 820 PowerSlideCrawler Excavator at an investment of £100,000 whichwill be used for rock breaking and excavation forunderground car parking for future projects and generalfoundation work.

PEBBLE BRIDGEHaving invested in morepersonnel, we are nowbuilding somewhere tohouse them all! Plans arenow well advanced forPebble Bridge which willbe the company's newmanagement andadministration building.Situated at the top of the'barranco' (the ravine),adjacent to Project Aries,this building will house thePebble Beach Village mainreception, a luxuryrestaurant and terraceoverlooking the swimmingpools and landscaped areadown to the water's edge.

PROJECT 1:ARIES.All 61 apartments havenow been completelyfinished, including theinstallation of theswimming pool. Thewhirlpool spa bath is soonto be added and thepoolside furniture is on itsway. The bar/cafeteria isdue to open in Decemberwith seating for up toapprox. 50 people. Thereis a small shop and guest

reception area which willoffer registration facilitiesfor guests and a night timesecurity officer. Thegardens are now maturingwell and the recentlyplanted palm treesbordering the 6th fairwayare part of the finallandscaping of this project,Almost all apartments arefurnished and in use byowners orare beinglet ontheir behalf.

PROJECT 3:GEMINI.The latest apartments to becompleted in Pebble BeachVillage. In phase 1, 16apartments are ready foroccupation duringDecember. The pool areais finished with a waterfallas one of the attractivefeatures and the gardenshave been landscaped. Inphase 2 of this project, thefoundations are being dug- all 22 apartments havebeen sold for some time.

PROJECT 4: LEO:PROJECT 6:LIBRA:PROJECT 8:AQUARIUS.These three projects are ata similar stage ofdevelopment with thefoundations of the initialphases approachingcompletion. All threeprojects are over 65% soldout.

PROJECT 5:VIRGO:The 1 st phase of thisproject (30 apartments) isdue for completion duringJanuary 1988. It isanticipated that theremaining two phases willbe finished by the end of1988 which will completethe western boundary ofPebble Beach Villagebordering the 6th fairwayand 5th green of the firstAmarilla Golf and CountryClub course.

PROJECT 7:SCORPIO:Sales have progressed sowell that it is almost beingbuilt as one phase ofconstruction. Building is upto roof level in phase 1 andthe rest of the project iswell advanced. Thearchitecture of Scorpio hasmuch to do with itspopularity, It is built in aCanarian style, withcourtyard and fountaingarden bordering the 1 Othfairway. The 94 apartmentsall benefit from having anattractively landscapedpool area.

Five T.V. Channels areproposed.Channel 1 will provideChildrens Channel andPremiere, which offersmainly films.Channel 2 will offer ArtsChannel, Lifestyle (soapoperas and programmes offemale interest) andScreen Sport.Channel 3 is the CableNews Network, anAmerican channel whichwill not be widely used atPebble Beach Village as itconcentrates almostentirely on American newsand current affairs,Channel 4 is MTV(Europe) a music televisionchannel providinguninterrupted pop-musicvideos.

But the best news issaved until last.The fifth channel will beoffering a blend of bothBBC1 and BBC2programmes which meansthat after a round of golf,or a day on the beach,'villagers'can relax and puttheir feet up and switch onto programmes likeEastenders, Last of theSummer Wine, The TwoRonnies, the Six o'clockand Nine o'clock News,live sporting events suchas snooker, cricket andtennis and much, muchmore.It is estimated that the costof receiving satellite T.V. atPebble Beach Village willbe easily affordable to allowners. The cost ofinstallation, cabling thecomplex and supplying thetelevision sets will beborne by Pebble BeachVillage and an annual feewill be payable by ownerswho wish to enjoy theservice.The success of satelliteT.V, in Pebble BeachVillage provides 'villagers'with a unique leisurefacility. The development of AmarillaGolf and Country Club is movingalong rapidly. The focal point ofthe development is the luxuriousClub House where members canenjoy the facilities of the bar andrestaurant or simply relaxaround the large pool in theSpanish style patio area. Some ofthe recent improvements to thegolf course start just outside theClub House.Adjacent to the first tee, theputting greens arebecoming well establishedto help you get your eye inbefore you tee off downthe first fairway. On the 2nd 9 holes someother improvements havebeen made. In between the9th and 1 Oth fairways anew lake is under,construction and two newlakes and a stream arecomplementing the l l th,12th and 13th fairways.It is encouraging to see thegolf course taking shape.The vast system of

sprinklers are constantlywatering the course and aswe go to press, DonaldSteele, the coursedesigner, is visitingAmarilla Golf and CountryClub to inspect the courseand progress made. Hisvisits will become morefrequent as the first 18 holecourse nears completion.

STAR VISIT!AMARILLAGOLFAlso at the time of going to press, it was encouraging towelcome the visit to the course by top Ryder cup golfer,Eamonn Darcy. Eamonn arrived at the beginning ofDecember and played the first 9 holes with his hosts.During his visit he also held golf clinics offering tuition togolfing owners at the Club. In the next issue of TheVillager we'll have a full report about his visit.
