of scorpions and each species has its own "scientific name" for example, the black emperor scorpion is Pandinus imperator. likewise, the Asian forest scorpion is Heterometrus spinifer

•They are normally quite light because they are small in size. They can weigh anything from a gram or two, up to 50 grams and can measure anywhere between ½ inch to 7 1/4 inches.

•Glow-in-the-Dark?: Scorpions have fluorescent chemicals in their cuticle, or outer shell, which glow in the dark when exposed to a black light. Researchers carry hand-held ultraviolet lamps in the field to survey them at night.
