COUNTERFEITTOYS

Counterfeit toys may not seem

like a big deal, but they come

with many safety risks. Each

toy manufactured and sold in

the US must meet safety

standards. Counterfeit toys

don't have to follow these

regulations. There is no way to

know what safety risks the toy

posses until its too late.

Officials are consistently

monitoring what toys come

into the US. In 2013, 5

companies were accused of

importing hazardous toys

from China. The toys were

confiscated by officials.

Children under the age of 6

are at a high risk for high

blood lead levels. The scary

part is the symptoms don't

usually show up until the

levels are high. The symptoms

are:

Irritability, Loss of appetite,

Weight loss, Sluggishness,

Abdominal discomfort,

Vomiting, Constipation,

Learning difficulties

These are pretty normal

everyday behaviors for younger

children. If you believe your

child behavior has changed, you

should seek medical care. It's

always better to be safe than

sorry. If the health and behavior

is in fact because of the

counterfeit toy, you have the

right to legal compensation. You

should contact an attorney for

legal help.
