From the Pastor:

My dear friends in Christ,

It’s time to think for a moment. When was the last time you were invited to someone’s home for dinner or a party? It’s probably been awhile for most of us as we continue to navigate this COVID-19 Pandemic. When we do get an invitation, we usually spend some time in thought as to what type of gift to bring. There are those who don’t like to show up empty-handed. In the First Reading today, Elisha considered the graciousness of the woman in Shunem, a woman of influence who lived a life of hospitality and righteousness. After she’d hosted this man of God in her home whenever he passed by, he asked, “What can be done for her?” and her barren life became fruitful. There are also those who are welcoming with even the smallest gesture as offering a cup of water to one of the little ones to drink. Being a disciple should not be marginal, it should be central. We should be capable of taking up our cross and following Jesus. In the social unrest of today, can we hear the prophet’s voice? Are we centered enough on God to hear the still, small voice through all the anger, fear, and hate? How do we use our gifts and talents to speak up for and stand with the “little ones” in our society?

Congratulations to our First Holy Communion Class on their special day. Thanks to Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Campbell for preparing these children to receive the Eucharist. May they always be nourished and strengthened by His presence.

May God bless you all,

Father John

AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

MASS RESERVATIONS / SANCTUARY LAMP

Although our Parish Office is closed, due to state and diocesan guidelines on social distancing, you may always make reservations for a Mass or for the Sanctuary Lamp (there are many available for both) by calling the Rectory Office at 609.877.5322.

JUNE, JULY & AUGUST SUNDAY MASS INTENTIONS If you have reserved a Sunday Mass at 7:30 AM or 11:00 AM, please know that, during these Summer months, those intentions will be offered at the 9:00 AM Mass. Although this is not a practice here at Corpus Christi, it is permissible to offer a Mass for more than one intention. As we near September, we will re-visit the Mass times. We thank you for your understanding during these uncertain times.

THINGS TO REMEMBER The following events here at Corpus Christi Church continue to be suspended until further notice:

• Pope John Paul II Regional School • Religious Education Classes • Sacraments of Confirmation & First Communion • All Parish Ministries, Organizational Meetings/

PRAYER DURING A PANDEMIC Lord Jesus,

Hear our pleas, our Good Shepherd and Divine Physician. We implore Your mercy in the wake of an outbreak of serious illness and disease.

Bestow Your comfort and healing to the sick, sustain and strengthen them by Your grace. May they know Your closeness as they carry the cross of illness.

And may all who have been called from this life come to worship You eternally with all the saints as You grant consolation and peace to their mourners.

Amen.

Welcome Back to Corpus Christi Church

Weekend “In-Church” Masses have resumed with restrictions. Masses will be celebrated at 4:00 PM on Saturday and at 9:00 AM on Sunday. There will be no 7:30 AM or 11:00 AM Masses until further notice.
