WORLD WIDE COMMUNION SUNDAY

This Sunday Chris"ans all over the world will celebrate the sacrament of

the Lord’s Supper. Some Chris"ans gather in homes or huts, while others enter

into white frame churches or more rus"c buildings, while others worship in

contemporary suburban se)ngs, and yet others will praise God in historic

cathedrals.

The elements of bread and juice, represen"ng the body and blood of

Christ, will be blessed and received in Catholic and Protestant churches, different

denomina"ons around the world. It is indeed a holy "me.

Chaplains on college campuses, hospitals, military bases, ships, and

loca"ons where our men and women serve will offer the sacraments.

During Worldwide Communion Sunday the Scripture will be read in

different countries in various languages yet we are all One body, the body of

Jesus Christ. We are One Church, Christ’s Church. One Lord, One bap"sm, One

faith!

Please join us this Sunday as we gather around the Lord’s table for the

Lord’s Supper! May God bless you and keep you!

Yours in Christ,

Steve

1st Kids FALL FESTIVAL and TRUNK OR TREAT

October 27th 5:30-7pm

Lots of fun and treats!!!

And the Children shall come and

Pray... Last week brought one of the most

powerful mornings of the year to our city,

county, and country’s schools. Last

Wednesday was See You At The Pole where

schools across the na"on welcomed students

early to share in a "me of worship and

prayer. This annual event started in 1989

when 10 students in Burleson Texas

decided aDer a Discipleship Weekend to

bring prayer back to school. That night

they traveled to 3 schools and prayed

around the flagpoles. They started a

movement and by the next year, about

45,000 students gathered the morning of

See You at the Pole. This past

Wednesday, it was es"mated that over

1.5 million students combined in prayer

for their schools, leaders, country,

friends, and personal concerns.

Sco;sboro City Schools showed

up to honor God in record

numbers. Lora Hass led devo"on on

How to Pray at Caldwell where the

prayer circle around the flagpole

included over 80 students and faculty.

Dr. Amy and Jason Hass welcomed

another 60+ students at Collins

Elementary School. I shared with the

SJHS along with Mike Roney leading

worship with another 60 young

believers. Meanwhile, the FCA led by Ryan Jones

liDed praise and prayers with 50+ students at SHS. It

was a blessed morning and a great honor for so many

FUMC members to lead worship, prayer, and

devo"on.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are

called by my name, will humble themselves and pray

and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their

sin and will heal their land.” This was the theme

scripture for SYaTP this year. It is a blueprint to

having the presence, forgiveness, and healing of

God...be humble, seek God, and turn from sin. It is simple but not always easy but it is

God’s command with God’s promise. Be like these students; show up, pray with passion,

and know God will reveal himself in fabulous glory!

Blessings, Hardin
