WHY I LOVE MY CHURCH

It is the shrine of my faith at whose altar I offer sacrifices to God.

It is the sanctuary of my worship in whose holy place I seek the presence of

God.

It is a retreat amid the cares of the world where I renew my strength at the

fountain of life.

It is a refuge amid the tempta(ons of life where I li) up my eyes to the hills

whence cometh my help.

It is Bethel amid the fears of life where I catch a vision of the open heavens and

the ministering hosts.

It is the birthplace of faith and hope and love and the cradle of peace and good

will and brotherhood.

It is in the church that I find Christ, hear His word, read and learn the way of life

more perfectly.

It is in the body of the church that I feel the fellowship of a more blessed life,

and find the pure friendships that spring from its faith.

It is the church that calls me to be/er living, and shows me the way of service

through its unselfish ministries.

“Christ loved the church and gave himself for it,” and surely it is worthy of my

best love and loyalty.

Children’s Sabbath

October 27th

Our children will be leading both services.

It will be a special day you won’t want to miss!!

Neighbors without an Address... In our many travels as a Youth Mission Team

we have dedicated our primary focus on service and

evangelism with the homeless. WAIT! Many of our

partner ministries across the country dissuade the

use of the word “homeless”. There is a s(gma

associated with the word and an immediate mental

image conjured that is dirty, addicted, unstable, and

unapprecia(ve of any help. WRONG! We have found our Neighbors without

Addresses or Friends Searching for a Home to be some of the most humble, grateful, and

faith-filled children of God ever encountered. We don’t need to travel the country to find

these neighbors when they are right in front of us. The average Alabamian is 1 & 1/2

paychecks away from homeless! We are abundantly blessed...let us share God’s boun(ful

love, encouragement, and resources with those struggling to find a place to call home.

This Sunday evening, the Youth will take place in our annual Box City Event. This is

to raise awareness that the struggle to find a home is real and very relevant right here in

Jackson County. This year we are teaming with Jackson County Life Resource Services and

their Sleepout for Homelessness Experience. The Event will be at the Jackson County

Veteran’s Fairgrounds beginning at 3pm un(l 8pm on Oct 13th. The programming will be

indoors and all are welcome to enjoy the games, free food, music (including our CR band,

the Mercy Project), tes(monies, and special speakers. The Youth will then have a (me of

sharing a)er the 8pm closing along with some group fun ac(vi(es. We will be sleeping

under boxes, tents, or the stars just like our neighbors without addresses do on a regular

basis.

Come out and support our Youth and the LRC! Dona(ons all go to our local

homeless ministries. The Youth will be panhandling and welcome “drive by” dona>ons

outside the fairgrounds gates between 7 - 8pm. Thank you for your prayers and support

and Parents please get those registra(ons

in for your students to a/end.

Blessings, Hardin

A Mercy Minute

We all have God given gi)s and talents with

some realized early and some slow to be revealed. Our

speaker this week is Terita St. Julian, an accomplished

Chris(an Author and Speaker. Terita began reading at

age 1 and publishing wri(ngs at age 6. Through her

own experiences and ups with downs as a mother, God

helped her write a book on paren(ng en(tled,

“Teaching Your Children to Remain in the Vine.” She

has found that the more she and her husband say yes

to God...the closer her children draw to Jesus also. We

all have a perfect Father - trust God and entrust your

children to HIM.

Blessings, Hardin
