The Step by Step Guide to Creating Compelling Content How To Create Compelling Content

How To Create Compelling Content From the day I started blogging, (which was recently) I was always intrigued about “how to create

compelling content”. The reason being is that not only am I passionate about blogging, I really want my

readers to be educated on the basic fundamentals of what I write about which are topics such making

money online, and running your Home Based Business, etc…

One of the things I learned about making money online is the importance of personal branding and how

blogging,is a great way to attract more like minded individuals as myself.

Not only did I learn the importance of blogging, but I also learned how CRUCIAL it is to create

compelling content that is relevant and useful to your readers.

I can remember my first blog post.

I stared at the keyboard for about 20 minutes, just telling myself: “what should I write about?” “what if

people don’t like it?”

My hands were shaking…

I couldn’t think of what to write because I was frightened of who would see my blog, and what they

would think of my writing.

I guess I was more afraid because I am not a professional writer, I only have a high school diploma, and I

was educated most of my life in Puerto Rico, which makes me at times speak Spanglish, instead of

English or Spanish.

Then I came across a quote by Author E.L Doctorav over a goodreads.com where he said:

“Writing is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the

whole trip that way.”

And that’s when it hit me, and I told myself: “I’m doing this no matter what”

As you are reading, you probably notice all the excuses I made not to write, which simply equals

procrastination.

So, I just started punching my keys and got to work. As soon as I did that, I learned some important

things along the way, which I and going to share right now with you.

Obviously if you are here, you want to learn how to create compelling content…right?

So I came up with a Step by Step Guide of what I have learned about writing compelling content

My Step By Step Guide To Creating Compelling Content

Step #1 Know Target Audience

This has to be one of the most important steps that a lot of people neglect. Just because you wrote

something on the internet, does not mean that anybody is going to see it. Content is what brings traffic

to your site. Knowing your target audience will not only help people find your content but when you are

writing to grow your business online, you have to understand that you have to be marketing to a specific

audience. You have to know their wants, their needs and desires. You have to know who they are and

where you can find them. All Fortune 500 Companies are where they are because they have a

marketing strategy and know their target market.

What is it about the Home Based Business Industry that most people NEGLECT their own marketing

strategy, and don’t even take the time to do their research to get to know their target audience?

Before even thinking of creating a blog and creating compelling content, get to know your target

audience first, and have an end result in mind.

If you want to learn more about knowing your target market, I actually wrote a blog post about it

recently. You can check it out here, once you read this post.

Step #2 Send Your Target Audience A Message

Once you have done your research and you know who your target audience is, where they are and what

their needs, wants and desires are, that’s when you send them a message.

You send them a message by creating compelling content that will help them solve a particular

problem.

By doing this your audience will know that they can trust you and go to you for information when they

need help. It will also build trust and position you as a leader and an authority. It will give you

credibility and build responsiveness with your audience.

Step #4 Blog Daily

Blog Daily so that you can discover your natural writing style. It’s important that you practice writing

every single day before you even think of getting results.

We are all creative beings. We are all experts at something, and we are all artists, poets, students, etc….

When you’re blogging, create compelling content simply writing good and useful information about the

things you know that can provide value to others.

Be Yourself…

Tell your story….

Be creative…

Don’t be afraid to express your opinions and your beliefs.

Okay…there is the possibility that not everyone is going to like it..but WHO CARES!

We got a saying here in Puerto Rico which is:

Page 4: The Step By Step Guide To Creating Compelling Content How To Create Compelling Content

No soy un billete de $100 para caerle bien a todo el mundo

Translation: “I’m not a $100 Bill for everyone to like me”

I guess it makes more sense in spanish…lol

Be entertaining..

Create videos and embed them in your blog.

For some reason, people love going to youtube and watching videos.

People just love to be entertained. I sang professionally for over 14 years for corporate events in hotels

here in Puerto Rico, and believe me when I say…people love to be entertained.

If you don’t know how to write, or be entertaining or do videos, understand that you got to be BAD at

something in order to start getting GOOD at it.

The only way you can get good is by practicing and doing it everyday.

In this case…writing. So start doing it now! You can do it.

Step #5 Get Eyeballs To Your Blog!

What’s the use of writing anything if you don’t get eyeballs to the content you created.

You wouldn’t want to do all that writing in vain, so here is how you can do how you can get people to

read your stuff.

Do some SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Don’t panic! It really isn’t rocket science…but it does require some skill. When practiced over time, you

can become a master at it.

According to Wikipedia’s definition:

(SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine‘s unpaid

results – often referred to as “natural,” “organic,” or “earned” results

Page 5: The Step By Step Guide To Creating Compelling Content How To Create Compelling Content

They make it sound hard…don’t they?

Here’s what I do:

Once you have written your blog post or article, think of some keywords that your audience

would type in the search engines to find the specific topic that you wrote about. It’s not that

hard. Just think of the keywords that you typed in the search engine that landed you on my blog

post.:)!

You can use a free tool called google adwords to help you with that.

Once you got all those keywords gathered together they should go in your title, sprinkle some in

your post (1% to 3%) reason being that the if you put too much that search engines will ignore

your content and categorize you as a spammer….we do not want that! Not after you put your

heart and created compelling content for your audience.

Have header tags. You can find your header tags where it says paragraph in your blog

dashboard.

Make sure you have your keywords in your image….

Ping you Blog in the free pinging sites like pingler.com, just go to google and find free ping sites.

Share your blog on social media sites like facebook, twitter, linkedin, pinterest.

There are so many ways that you can get eyeballs to your content. Just start somewhere.

Why Create Compelling Content?

Content Is King!

Content is also a huge traffic source.

Everything that is on the internet is content. Good content equals traffic When you create compelling

content for your target audience, search engines make it much easier for search engines like google,

bing and yahoo to find you.

Another thing is that your content can stay in the search engines for years and years.

Page 6: The Step By Step Guide To Creating Compelling Content How To Create Compelling Content

What Topics Should I Create Content About? It really depends on who your audience is.

For example, my audience is internet marketers, affiliate marketers, network marketer…that field.

I write about topics that help people like me get better results in their business.

If you are like me, well then you can write about current events, which you can find on google trends.

You can write about topics that answer your readers questions. If you are selling stuff on Ebay, write

about it. Write about product reviews. Write about stuff you love. Things that you are passionate

about and share your visions and goals with others.

Just make sure that when you are writing you ENGAGE with your audience Without the engagement and

interest of your audience, it will be impossible to accomplish your objective…which will be to keep them

reading your stuff.

The PURPOSE of creating compelling content is to provide MASSIVE VALUE for your target audience so

that they can trust YOU.

Simply ask yourself this question: “How am I providing value and useful information for my audience”

If you can’t answer that question…GET TO WORK!
