The Solution my Friends...2018 ANNUAL REPORT

In 2018, our Noblemen Toy Drive eclipsed the 5000 child mark, in terms of how many local kids we provided with toys. We hosted over a dozen “gifting events” and more than 75% of those toys were given to kids by children of Noblemen and friends. With over 300 boxes at stores throughout the community and with more than 20 private parties collecting toys, our toy drive continues to grow each year.

Amelia is a 5 year girl at Birdneck Elementary. She got the last Hatchable doll which was all she wanted. When the girl behind her didn’t get the Hatchable doll she requested, Amelia decided to give her Hatchable doll to her. We decided to reward Amelia with a bike. Stories like Amelia’s happen all the time during our Toy Drive. Please be a part of it in 2019.Special thanks go to Brooks Transfer and Storage for collecting all of our toys and Runny-mede for providing us the space to store them all. Also, thanks to BB&T, Calypso’s, Jerry Galanides and to the thousands upon thousands of people who help us collect toys each year.

Over the course of the last 3 years, the Noblemen have transformed into one of the most impactful organizations in Hampton Roads helping special needs and disadvan-taged children and their families.

Since our inception in 1995, our local organization has given to over 100 local orga-nizations and has helped countless children. In the last year alone, we impacted the lives of more than 6000 children and that number grows annually.

Our mission is Helping Kids. And Changing Lives. This means that while we are serv-ing local kids and their families, we always look for ways to teach our own children the joy and the importance of giving.

We also act as a “last resort” for local families that need help and have exhausted all of the normal channels. Our small yet flexible group of volunteers prides itself on being able to vet situations accurately and deliver support quickly and efficiently.

We look forward to Helping Kids. And Changing Lives in 2019 and beyond. We urge you to consider joining us and our efforts. The wonderful things we do would not be possible without the support of our Community Partners, Fellows and friends. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in our organization in the past and our hope is that we can continue to grow and continue our local impact.

All the best!

Pete Reuss

For the 24th year in a row on the second Thursday in December, the Noblemen has partnered with Edmarc to provide Christmas joy for 10-12 families with children in Edmarc’s hospice care. As our longest act of philanthropy we “drop a bomb of joy” on these families struggling with something most of us can’t imagine. We provide food and gifts for the entire family and for 15-20 minutes visit their homes and sing carols with them.

We couldn’t pull it off without the help of the 12 sponsoring Noblemen as well as Venture Tours who provide the buses, Jungle Golf for providing a place to gather and set sail from and Doc Tay-lor’s for sponsoring our post trolley Ride gathering.

Founder ~ CEOThe Noblemen is a 501c3 non-profit founded in 1995. The mission and the brand is “Helping Kids, And Changing Lives. Early on we discovered the act of helping local kids changed our lives. We partner with other groups and nonprofits that share our commitment and mission.

The Noblemen provide a wide range of activities for our members to involve their resources and volunteer time. Our annual toy drive provides an infrastructure to gather thousands of unwrapped gifts to support a gifting initiative to over 3000 local kids. Our holidays are busy with events, giving programs and life changing philanthropy.

We support a number of our members that have gone on to create their own activities/non-profits to serve disadvantaged youth; everything from pushing wheelchaired youth to a surfing experience with professionals that ride waves as partners.

Our “NobleTeen” program is in a number of Virginia Beach Public Schools comprised of High School kids engaging in local philanthropy. Yearly, we partner with NAS Oceana Master Jet Base in Virginia Beach and provide an airshow for hundreds of local families, Exceptional Family Members representing all brands of the military and organizations that support spe-cial needs children. All of the pilots and participants personally visit our tent and interact and provide photo opportunities. Truly a magic day for all.

Membership meets monthly to have dinner and gather socially to discuss fundraising events and learn about opportunities to support and vote on. Members pay annual dues and for meals at meetings. Partners comprised of businesses and individuals invest on a larger scale and support our philanthropy and key initiatives. The organization is 100 % volunteer.

Sincerely,

Al Midgett

The Noblemen has partnered with NAS Oceana since 2010 to offer the Special Needs Airshow. Each year on the day before the opening of the Virginia Beach Airshow, we in-vite over 500 local children and their families to sit on the flight line and watch the airshow. The pilots, includ-ing the Blue Angels, join us in enter-taining everyone present with one of the best days of the year. Thanks to Jimmy Harvey, Taylor Grissom, Andy Vakos and Kimball Payne for sponsoring this wonderful event.
