Blue Devils Standing Strong Against Bullying
Working with the regional sending districts of Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, and West LongBranch, Shore Regional finds itself a year ahead of schedule to meet the new state evaluation initiativeentitled “Excellent Educators for New Jersey” (EE4NJ). In preparation to meet EE4NJʼs mandates, a re-gional committee of teachers and administrators have drafted a new observation instrument that coin-cides with the programʼs aims of teacher evaluation reform. Having been developed through the inputand feedback from the full regional teaching and administrative staff, the new instrument is comprehen-sive, objectively concrete, and collaborative in nature. In addition to two Teachers Association presi-dents, a diverse array of teachers that spanned Pre-K through twelfth grade constituted the regionalEE4NJ committee. Throughout the fiercely honest process, the committee forged a powerful documentthat holds enormous potential to positively impact student achievement.
According to Director of Curriculum and Instruction Bruce Preston, “This one tool will create acommon language around instruction for all four districts. There will now be one instructional modelcomprised of the best elements of all four districts. This tool, the “Collaborative Coaching FeedbackForm” (C2F2), represents a high standard for teaching practices necessary for students to achieve suc-cess with the new national standards, which will be assessed starting in the 2014-2015 school year.” Asthe regional committee chairperson, Preston invites those with questions to visit the Curriculum sectionof the districtʼs website (shoreregional.org/Curriculum) or contact him via phone (x2200) or email ([email protected]).
