By Maria Cascario Carmen “Armie” Ruggiero recently celebrated his 100th birthday! Armie, who was a lifelong resident of Roseto, currently resides at Walden in Wind Gap. The dinner party was held at Stroudsmoor and attended by family, friends and Fr. James Prior and Fr. Tom Prior of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Cousins from Toronto, Canada also made the long trip for the party! Armie, who is my Uncle, has led an interesting life. He is devoted to family and his Church. He served in the military and was stationed in Hawaii in the 1940’s. He was employed as a Beverage Manager at the former Hollywood Beach Hotel and later at the Boca Carmen “Armie” Ruggiero Celebrates 100th Birthday Raton Hotel and Country Club. He returned to his roots in Roseto every summer to live at “The homestead,” on Columbus Avenue. An avid gardener, he was proud of his garden and gave away everything that grew there. We are always happy to have him attend family get-togethers and gatherings. Immediately after his party was over, he headed straight to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church to attend Saturday night Mass. During the Mass, Father Prior congratulated him on his long life much to the delight of the parishioners. Our family is fortunate to have “Uncle Armie” and we wish him many more Happy Birthdays! The Store Will Be Open Throughout The Year For Roseto’s Celebration Left: Janet Farole and Phyllis Snyder show the Roseto “Golden Jubilee Book” as one of the items for sale.
