Today’s Worship Plan

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “...Whoever sows sparingly will also reap also sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”… Please notice the offering box in the entranceway; where we cheerfully place our offerings in the collection box. Your contributions to God help us preach the Gospel here in Cedar Key, around the world and carry out works of benevolence to the glory of Christ our Lord.

Welcome Visitors and Members! We hope that your experience today will add something meaningful to your life in Christ Jesus. If you are new to the area and would like more information about this church, let us know. If you are just visiting our island community, then we hope to see you again.

Would you like to confess your faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins today? Come forward during the last song and we will assist you in obeying Christ as Lord – or let us know your desire some other time. We can arrange a time for your baptism into Christ. If you are a Christian and wandered away from home with the Lord, you may make your desire known and we will pray for God to forgive your sins, and fully restore you to Jesus Christ and joyful fellowship with other Christians.

Share the Good News! Free Bible studies and much more are available at our congregation’s web site Cedar Key Church of Christ. We also have the church’s weekly Bulletin on our web site.

Source of Power

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

Being creatures of habit, when we walk into a dark room, we flip the light switch. For a couple of stormy days this past week, we flipped the switches and nothing happened. When the electrical power was finally restored due to the efforts of many hard working linemen, we were giddy and very thankful to them and many ancient people in different countries and our own famous Benjamin Franklin for courageously experimenting with electricity. This makes us think what kind of extreme power must be needed in order to change a sinner to a saint!

(Isaiah 1:11) God never was delighted when people offered the blood of animals when they didn’t give Him their heart!

(Romans 5:1-2;8-9) Because of the grace of God and our response of faith in Jesus Christ, we are justified by His blood.

(1 Corinthians 11:25) When Jesus’ followers partake of the Lord’s Supper, the cup represents the blood that brought in the New Covenant of forgiveness of sins.

(Ephesians 1:7) “Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb” – what a great thought in that old hymn and what a great price!

(Ephesians 2:13) Do you feel far away from God? The blood of Jesus has power to bring us close to God when we trust and obey the message of the Gospel. (Colossians 1:20) We are far away from God when we choose to remain in a life of sin. The blood of Jesus makes peace between us and our just and merciful Father in heaven. (Hebrews 13:12) Only the blood of Jesus makes us holy when we accept the gift of God’s Son by obedience to the Gospel.(Revelation 1:5) True deliverance from the penalty of sins is only possible because of the shed blood of Christ Jesus.
