Installing OpenDoor

You can install OpenDoor one of 2 ways:1. Inside of Wordpress2. Manual upload via FTPInstalling inside of WordpressUnzip the main downloaded Zip file from Themeforest. After unzipping, you will have a single folder called OpenDoor. Go into that folder, Select All the files and create a new Zip file. For example, call it, OpenDoor.zip. (Sorry, this is required because Themeforest would keep rejecting my upload if I did it any better way!)

Upload the zip file you just created in your WP Admin, here:

If you have a problem uploading the theme this way, then upload manually...

Installing manually via FTPThis is my preferred method since it gives the most control, plus you learn the file structure of your site. First, you will need to be able to log into your site via FTP. Youll need to know your host name, username, and password. I use and prefer the free Firefox browser plugin called Fire FTP.

Unzip the main Zip file that you downloaded from Themeforest. Inside the Zip file will be a folder called OpenDoor. Upload that folder to your /wp-content/themes/ directory. So after uploading, your site directory structure will be: /wp-content/themes/OpenDoor. (Note: if you rename the theme folder to something else, make sure the folder name has no spaces in it)

After the upload is complete, go to Appearance -> Themes, and Activate the OpenDoor theme.

Critical First StepsThis section is to set up the critical parts of the site. For example, the search and some other important parts of the site will not work until you follow these steps. The rest of the documentation is important also, but not as important as these first steps.1. Choose the site typeSince this is a Real Estate theme, choose Houses here:

Note: After this choice, please reload the browser window, so that the rest of the Theme Options will have settings for Real Estate, instead of a car dealership.

2. Import demo XML file (optional)Dont perform this step if you are upgrading from OpenHouse, as your site will already have existing listings, posts, pages, etc.

By importing the demo XML file, you will get a set of sample listings, posts, and pages, which will make setup of the site a bit quicker. Plus it is helpful to see the backend of listings already filled out, so you have a better idea of what to do with your own listings.

Also, the XML file will create required Pages (like the Search Results page) so you dont have to do this yourself.

If you do NOT import this XML file, then you must perform all the steps in this section of the documentation. XML users can skip some of it. But please, whether or not you import the XML, please read everything so you dont miss anything.

Download the XML file here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/418387/themeforest/Opendoor/OpenDoor_RealEstate_XML.zip

Unzip and then import the XML file here:

3. Create your Blog/News categoriesNote: Skip to step 4 if you imported the XML file from step 2, or you are upgrading from the OpenHouse theme.

Assuming you want to post articles to your site, you will need to create "Categories" for them. You can create a category called News (to hold news related posts), Blog (for general blog type posts), or any other category name. You can also create sub-categories under the main categories if your posts benefit from them.

4. "Search Results" Page and "Compare" PageIn order to display search results, you will first need to create a Search Results page.

Note: If you imported the demo XML file, then the Search Results page is already created for you. If you are upgrading from OpenHouse, then you should already have the Search Results and Compare page.

Search Results pageCreate a new Page, using the Page Template called Search Results. Enter a Title for the post... for example "Search Results". You can leave the content blank. Publish it.

Caution: do not call your page simply Search, as this may be a reserved Wordpress file name, and will cause the site to not perform a search without errors.

Next, in Theme Options, choose the page that you just created.

(This step is required even if you imported the demo XML file.)

Search Results TroubleshootingIf you have errors with the search results page, or dont get any results, or wrong results, please see this forum post: http://www.informatik.com/themeforest/opendoor_realestate/forums/topic/search-results-problems-2/

Compare pageNote: The Compare page is created for you already if you imported the demo XML file from step 2, or if youre upgrading from a new version of OpenHouse.

For the Compare page, create a new Page, using the Page Template called Compare. Enter a title for the post... for example "Compare Listings". You can leave the content area blank, or enter text, it doesn't matter. Publish it.

Then, in Theme Options, choose the page that you just created.

(This step is required even if you imported the demo XML file.)

5. Set up the Contact Form for the Listing pagesEach listing will contain a contact form, either a generic one, or one specifically assigned to the listings Agent. See the Agent section for details on how to set up the form for each Agent.

This section will detail how to set up a generic contact form which will be used for each listing that does NOT have an Agent associated with it.

First, install the Contact Form 7 plugin. To do this, go to the Plugins tab, search for Contact Form 7, download it, install, and activate it. You will now see this in WP Admin:

Create a form, and then COPY the shortcode here:

and then in Theme Options, paste it here:(Note: be sure to replace all double quotes with single quote characters.)

6. PermalinksGo to Settings -> Permalinks and make sure any one other than the first choice is selected.

7. Define homepage

Make sure the following setting is like shown below. It most likely is already, but check to make sure.

Done!

Now after you post at least one listing, you will be able to do a search for it. And if you have multiple results, youll be able to compare them by checking off compare in each result.

Read the rest of the documentation for instructions on fine tuning the theme, customizing it, adding listings, posts, and lots more.

Required PluginsThis theme uses up to 5 plugins:1. Responsive Select2. Contact Form 73. WP PageNavi4. qTranslate (only if you want site in more than one language)5. dsIDXpress (only if you want to use the service. http://www.dsidxpress.com)Responsive Select pluginThis plugin is for viewing the site on mobile devices like phones. When viewed on small screens, this plugin will convert the menu bar into a small dropdown menu. This is how the menu bar looks like on a small phone:

To install, go to the Plugins tab in WP Admin, search for Responsive Select Menu, download, install, and activate. After activation, go here to set it up:

These are the settings I am using for the demo:

Contact Form 7This plugin is for all contact forms on the site. Contact forms are used in 3 places:

1. In the detail page for a listing. If a listing has an Agent associated with it, then the Agents contact form will show. If no agent, then a generic contact form will be used.2. Each Agent (optional) will have its own contact form.3. The Contact Us page

To install this plugin, go to the Plugins tab, search for Contact Form 7, download, install, and activate. See the section for setting up Agents for the Agent contact form. See the section for the Contact Us page for that contact form.

WP-PageNavi PluginThis plugin is for nice numeric page navigation when navigating through pages of search results. This one requires no setup. Just go to Plugins tab, search for the plugin, download, install, and activate.

qTranslateThis plugin is only required if your site will be in more than a single language. Go to Plugins, search for qTranslate, download, install, and activate. For more information on this plugin, and on multilanguage sites, see Multi-Language Site in this documentation.

dsIDXpressThis plugin is for bringing in MLS/IDX listings into the theme, without the need to manually post your listings. A monthly fee to www.diversesolutions.com is required. Even if you use this plugin, you can still post some listings manually, for display in the homepage slideshow, and homepage recent listings section. The slideshow will only pull listings from manually posted listings. If you dont want to post any manual listings, then you can use this plugin, and for the slideshow, choose to just have static images instead of featured listings. (see section on the Slideshow for details on this)

Theme Options

Most ImportantHere you choose which version of the theme you want: Real Estate, or Car Sales. Also you choose your search results page, and the type of search engine you will use.Homepage LayoutsCustomize what is shown under the slideshow on the homepage. Creating your first Listing1. Add New Listing

2. Enter title, upload images:

Blue: Enter title Red: Check off features (see Browse By section for help) Orange: All these taxonomies are OPTIONAL and only required if you are using the Browse By feature Green: Click on the button to upload one or more images for this listing.*

*A couple notes about uploading images:After uploading images, close out of the window by clicking the X at the top right. (You do not want to insert your uploaded image into the post content. You just want to sneek out of the upload window without inserting anything. The theme will take care of the image display.

(Note: the following screenshots are from Wordpress 3.5, which features a completely new Insert Media window. If youre using a version of Wordpress older than 3.5 then the window will look different, but the same principles apply)

After uploading youll see your uploaded images as thumbnails. The first image thumbnail is the one that is used in the slideshow, and is the main thumbnail image on various site pages. You may need to drag the images around to get the order that you want.

Important: You MUST upload fresh new images for each listing. You cannot choose images that already exist in your media library.

Entering the Location fields:Choose a Primary Location from the dropdown. You customize these locations in Theme Options -> Search.

Enter an optional Secondary Location. This secondary location is directly related to the SECOND DROPDOWN that appears when you choose a main location in the search.

This secondary dropdown is OPTIONAL and can be enabled/disbled in Theme Options:

Note: the secondary locations that appear when you choose a main location are stored as text files in the /secondary_locations directory of your site. Please refer to the Setting up the search section section for more details on this.

Fill out the rest of the fieldsThe rest of the fields should be self explanatory. The items in the Property Type dropdown are customized in Theme Options -> Search. The choices of Agents in the Agents dropdown will appear there after you create one or more Agents (see Agents section for details). The choices in the Banner dropdown are customized in Theme Options -> General Settings. See section dedicated to Banners for details.

When youre finished with data entry, click the Publish button.

Creating a new Blog/News post

Creating a regular news/blog/whatever post couldn't be simpler. Simply add a new Post. Type in a title and body text. Check off a Cateogry, and upload a Featured Image. (The image is used as the post thumbnail, and also large image when viewing the full post)

AgentsCreating agentsBefore creating an Agent, it is best to first create the contact form for him/her. If you havent already done so, make sure you install the Contact Form 7 plugin. (See Plugins section in this document for help) With the plugin installed and activated, go into the settings and make a contact form for the agent. Make sure each agent has their own email address set for it. After creating the form, click Save, and then copy the shortcode at the top of the screen:

Next, add a New Agent here:

For the title, enter the Agents name. For the content, put in some bio text for the agent. And under that, enter phone, fax, email, etc.

You add an Agent image the same way that you do for adding images to a Listing. Click on the insert/upload image button. Upload a single image to represent the Agent. When youre done, exit the window by clicking the X at the top right.

In the Contact Form section, paste the shortcode (from Contact Form 7) that you copied to clipboard. Remember, each Agent will have their own shortcode.

Add more agents the exact same way.

Now, when you make a Listing post (or edit one), there is a dropdown menu to choose an Agent:

and now when you view a listing with this Agent set for it, you will see this:

Creating the Our Agents Page

Create a Page. Give it a title like Our Agents. Add some content if you want, or not.

Give this page a Page Template of Agents, then click Publish.

Now add it to your menu bars by going to Appearance -> Menus. Add the Agents page that you created.

Creating the menu barsThis theme has 3 menus:1. Main Menu bar in the header area2. Small sub menu above the header (for minor menu links, and the login/logout button) This menu is optional. Show or hide it in Theme Options -> Show/Hide Stuff3. Footer menu

Create the menus from the Menus tab.

First, in red, create your menus. Then in green put your new menus in the corresponding locations.

You can now add pages, categories, whatever, to any of the three menus.

Setting up the Search SectionNote: this section is about setting up the built-in search box, which searches for manually posted listings. If you are using the dsIDXpress plugin, which includes its own search (as a search widget), then you can skip this section. However, if you want to use the dsIDXpress search AND the built in listing search, then continue reading.

For details on setting up the dsIDXpress plugin search, see the dsIDXpress section of this documentation.

This theme features a built-in advanced search area where you can perform a specific search for a listing based on:

Location Buy or Rent Beds Baths Min/Max Price Property Type Commercial/Residential Open House Year Built Size Lot Size Garage spaces MLS number

All of the dropdowns can be included in the search, or excluded. In the above screenshot not all of the search dropdowns are showing.

Adding values to the search dropdowns

Most of these search parameters are dropdowns with pre-defined values. The theme comes with default values, but you will need to edit them to your needs. Do that in Theme Options -> Search:

Choosing what to include in the searchOf all the many possible search dropdowns, you can pick and choose which ones you want to include. For example, if you ONLY want to search by Location, you can do that.

Go to Theme Options -> Search:

The Secondary Location Search Dropdown

In the example above, when you choose a main location (Pennsylvania), the dropdown under it (in green) appears with specific locations in Pennsylvania.

You can enable or disable the secondary dropdown in Theme Options -> Search.

First, enter all the possible main locations in Theme Options -> Search:

The information in the dropdown comes from text files stored in the themes /secondary_locations directory. Each text file must be named exactly like the corresponding location:

You will need to use some kind of FTP program to log into your server to access and edit these files. I use the free and easy to use Firefox plugin called FireFTP.

Setting up the Footer (widgetized areas)The footer is entirely made up of 4 Widgetized areas. When you go to Appearance -> Widgets, you'll see Footer1, Footer2, Footer3, and Footer4. Here is how we set up the demo footer:Footer1We dragged in the Text widget into this Widget area, and typed in a title and content This is a good place for some introductory text for your company.Footer2We dragged in the "Recent Posts" widget into this Widget area.Footer3We put in a small Google Map here. The Google Maps is actually some code pasted into a Text Widget. You'll need to go to http://maps.google.com and find your business location. Then click on the Link button at the top left of the screen. Then click the "Customize and Preview embedded map" link.

In the window that pops up enter a custom size of Width: 220 and Height: 200. Then copy the code at the bottom to the clipboard, and then paste it into your text widget. In the code, i also removed all text inside and including the tag.

Footer4The fourth and last footer widgetized area uses the Contact Us widget. Drag it into the Footer4 widget area, and fill in the textboxes with your contact information.

Setting up the Contact Us PageYou can include a Contact Us page, which is a special page that shows a Google Map of your location on top, with a contact form below it. See the Contact Us page in the demo for an example. The contact form is made possible by the Contact Form 7 plugin. Once installed and activated, go here and create a new contact form which will be used in the Contact Us page:

After creating a new form, COPY the shortcode, and paste it here:Note: be sure to replace all double quote characters with single quote characters.

The Contact Us page will show a Google Map, so in Theme Options, enter the address:

Finally, create the Contact Us page, and add it to a Menu:

Setting up "Browse By" sectionNote: The Browse By section is optional. You can disable it in Theme Options -> Hide/Show Stuff.

But even if you do not want this Browse By feature, you will still want to use the Features taxonomy since its not only used for the Browse By section.

The categories in the Browse By section are directly related to the Property Listings Taxonomies:

These taxonomies are also directly related to the sections of check boxes to the right side of each listing backend screen.

Note: These sections of taxonomies are NOT related to the main Listing search. They are ONLY used for the Browse By section. The Features taxonomy is also used for display in the listing detail page. At first it may seem redundant to check off a Property Type, Location, etc, here, because there are similar settings elsewhere in the same screen. But the other similar settings are used for the site search.

Features taxonomyYou must create at least one parent feature, and then put other features under it. In this example, I created a parent feature called Features. And under it some some child features.

This is the simplest setup. Alternatively you could have parent features called Interior, and Exterior. Then put appropriate features under each one.

Now, when you create a Listing, on the right side, you will see your features as check boxes. Check off the ones you want:

Now, at this point, in the Browse By section, you can Browse by these features. Click on any one, and you will get a results page showing all listings with that specific feature:

Also, in the listing detail page, your checked off features will show up like this: (notice how the parent category is a main tab). Also you will notice that each feature is a link to take you to a results page for all listings with that feature.

Browse By Property Type, Location, Price Range, and Rent/BuyNote: If you imported the demo XML file, then all these taxonomies will have some sample data in it. You will probably want to create your own data for each one, but the sample data is good to get you started.Property TypeSimply enter all your property types, like Single Family, Condominium, Apartment, Studio, Loft, etc.LocationEnter all your main locations (like city)Price RangeEnter a variety of price ranges. For example $100,000-$200,000, $201,000-$300,000, etc.Rent/BuyHere you must enter two values: Rent, and BuyBrowse By Settings

The Theme Options -> Browse By section has many options for showing/hiding all the main sections in the Browse By feature:

Customizing TextYou can customize the text of various parts of the site, like for the search box labels, heading text, error messages, and much more. To do this, go to Appearance -> Theme Options -> Custom Text.

MLS Listings (dsIDXpress Plugin)OpenDoor supports MLS listings via the dsIDXpress plugin from diversesolutions.com. After installing and activating the plugin, you will probably want to include the dsIDXpress search box:

Getting the dsIDXpress search areaFirst, in Theme Options, choose this option:

Note: you can also choose both, which will allow you to use the standard site search engine, as well as the dsIDXpress search engine (they are independant). The standard site search will only search for manually posted listings, and the dsIDXpress search will only search for listings in the MLS database.

Next, add the IDX Search widget to the dsIDXpress Search widgetized area, and youre done!

Adding other dsIDXpress widgetsBeside the dsIDXpress Search, there are 2 other dsIDXpress widgets: IDX Areas IDX Listings

You can add these widgets to any available widgetized area. In this example, we will add them to our homepage. The homepage has 4 widgetized areas: Homepage (under search) Homepage (under slideshow) 1 Homepage (under slideshow) 2 Homepage (under slideshow) 3

In this example, I will put IDX Listings in Homepage (under slideshow) 1, and IDX Areas in Homepage (under slideshow) 2:

Note: you can customize how these widgetized areas are laid out in Them Options -> Homepage Layouts. For example, you can have 3 equal width widget areas, or 2 widgets areas where the first is twice as wide as the second, and vice versa. Or lastly, one really wide widgetized area:

MLS Listing in a manually posted ListingThe benefit of using dsIDXpress is so you dont necessarily need to manually post your listings. However, you can still manually post some listings (or many). These listings will appear in the Latest Listings section on the homepage, as well as in the homepage slideshow.

When you add a manually posted listing, you can choose whether or not it is linked to dsIDXpress:

If you choose Yes, then you must enter the MLS number in the text box below. By choosing Yes, when you click on a Read More button in Recent Listings, or in the homepage slideshow, you will be taken to a page generated by dsIDXpress. It will contain lots of information about the listing. The theme has no control over what shows there, or how its laid out.

If you choose No, then when you click on Read More, you will go to a custom page designed for the theme. The listing details shown on this page are taken from what you enter when you created the listing (beds, baths, property type, etc.) The layout and design of the detail page is exactly like if you are not using the dsIDXpress plugin at all.

Multi-Language SiteThis theme can switch between multiple languages with the help of the free qTranslate plugin. This plugin is required. To install this plugin, go to the Plugins tab, search for qTranslate, download, and activate. After activation, you can set up your languages here:

Now when you make a Listing post or blog post, your Title and Content can be entered in each language:

Other than titles and content of posts/listings, there are lots of areas in the theme that contain static text which will also need to be translated. For example, all this text is static and needs to be translated to multiple languages:

Translating static site textWhether your site is in ONE language or multiple, all the text customization is done in Theme Options -> Custom Text:

To change this text to be in multiple languages, you need to wrap your text in special qTranslate tags:

English WordGerman Word

Heres a sample screenshot of Theme Options -> Custom Text:

Do this for all text in Theme Options EXCEPT:

The list of banners in Theme Options -> General Settings. Banner text is not translatable. Text for the values in the list of Property Types in Theme Options -> Search. That text must be translated differently. See section below.

Important... 2 Exceptions:The above screenshot examples show each translation on its own line. But there are 2 exceptions, where you should not enter a hard return between translations. Enter it all on a single line (and let the textbox do its own wrapping)

Search Button Text Read More Text

For example, for Read More Text, it should be like this:

Translating the Property Types (for Search)

This text is translated differently (and easier) than all the other types of translations. Translate this text like so:

Single Family:enEinfamilienhaus:deApartment:enWohnung:de

...etc.

Heres how it looks in Theme Options -> Search:

Note: When you choose a Property Type (when making a listing), it will take the language of the first line in the list. In the example above, the first line is for English.

Translating the headings of WidgetsThere is a 3rd method of translating text, but this is ONLY for translating the headings of Widgets. For the text of a widget heading, translate like this:

[:en]English Text[:fr]French Text[:de]German Text

Adding the Language SwitcherAfter activating qTranslate, there will be a new widget available, and also a dedicated widgetized area for this to go in. Add the widget as shown here:

The position of the Language Switcher defaults to top left of the header. But you can put it to the top right as shown here:

These alignment settings are in Theme Options -> Miscellaneous: Notice that you can also fine tune the right and top positions if needed. For example, if you have a secondary logo, it will get in the way of a right aligned Language Chooser. So you can enter a large Right Position value to move it over.

Note: Since the Language Switcher is a widget, you can actually put it in any widgetized area. It doesnt have to be in the recommended widgetized area (which puts the switcher in the header).

Banners

You can create as many banner types as you want in Theme Options -> General Settings:

You then can choose one of the banners when creating or editing a listing. You can even choose 2 banner texts. If you choose 2, they will show up in one banner bar, separated by a comma. The color tip on the banner is by default the chosen site color scheme. But you can customize each banner type to have its own color. You do that by entering in the pipe character (|) followed by a HEX color value, or English word equivalent (as determined by normal web color standards).

For example, to make the Sold banner have a red color end, use this:

Sold|Red

or this:

Sold|#ff0900

If a listing has 2 banners chosen, the color of the first one will be used.

Login/Logout ButtonEnable the Login/Logout button in Theme Options -> Membership/Login:

Note: Enabling the login button in the header forces the header sub menu to be shown, even if the option to hide this menu is set.

The Login/Logout button gets inserted into the header sub menu bar. So you need to make sure the sub menu bar has been created in Appearance -> Menus, and at least one menu item inside of it:

Have a look at the Appearance -> Membership/Login section to see all the options available to you.Setting up the SlideshowThe Theme Options -> Slideshow screen has all your settings for controlling the homepage Slideshow. The Slideshow can display one of 3 things: Recent Listings, Just Photos, or a Google Map of recent listings.

Recent Listings: This is the default. It pulls in recent listings (photo and text) Just Photos: Pulls in just photos (no text) that you post via the "Slideshow Photos" Post Type. To add a slideshow photo, go to Slideshow Photos -> Add new Slideshow Photo. Each post will have it's own photo. Google Map: Shows map with clickable markers of recent listings.

Other settings in the Theme Options are the Slideshow quantity, transition, order, etc. All self explanatory.Changing theme AppearanceYou can customize a lot of the theme look and feel in Theme Options -> Appearance.

Main Color SchemeMost of the colors on in the theme are neutral grays and white. The Main Color Scheme setting adds some color to some elements. At the very least, you will want to choose your main color scheme to match your company brand/logo.

You can see that this color affects the following elements:

Background Colors/ImagesTheme Options -> Appearance has settings for you to change the background color or image for all the main sections of the site: Header, background (sides of site), footer, and background of title text. If you choose a color and a background image, the color will override the image.

Red: Header Orange: Main site background Green: Title area Yellow: Footer

By customizing the color scheme and each of these background areas, you will have a high degree of customization without needing to edit code.

Changing homepage layoutUnder the slideshow on the homepage, there are 3 potential areas of content:1. Latest Listings2. Widgetized areas3. Recent blog posts

You can include or exclude any of those section, as well as change the order of them, in Theme Options -> Homepage Layouts:

Homepage widgetized section

Furthermore, for the widget section alone (middle area in screenshot above), you have 4 layout choices in Theme Options -> Homepage Layout:

3 widget areas of the same width:

2 widget areas, first one twice the width of the second

2 widget areas, first one half the width of the second

1 widget area, really wide

Modifying the CSScustom.cssThe main CSS style is style.css, which is located in the root of the site. You can modify it, however, if you ever upgrade to a newer version of the theme, and replace the style.css file, all your changes to style.css will be replaced with the new version.

A better way is to add your styles to /css/custom.css. This is a blank css file, where you add your own CSS styles which will override the themes styles. Note: if you upgrade the site in the future, this file will also get overwritten. So before updating, please back up this file, and then restore it after the upgrade.CSS setting in Theme OptionsAlternatively, you can also write custom CSS to override the theme css by adding CSS code to Theme Options -> General Settings -> Custom CSS.

A page of Sold Listings Note: this is only for version 1.0.1 or higher. Here is how you can create a page showing all Sold listings, like this:

1. With the Browse By tab enabled on your site, navigate to All Listings. Then copy the resulting URL to the clipboard.2. Go to Appearance -> Menus, and create a custom menu item. Paste the URL and type in your menu item name of All Listings (or whatever you want to call it). 3. Lead ShortcodeThis shortcode is very simple. It simply makes a paragraph of text stand out by making it larger.

[lead]This is some lead text that I want to stand out on the page by making it larger.[/lead]

Back To Top shortcodeThis shortcode adds linked text, aligned to the right that says Back To Top. When clicked, the page scrolls to the top. You can customize the text in Theme Options -> Custom Text.

[top][/top]

Clear ShortcodeThis shortcode is the same as adding a DIV with a style of clear: both. When you want your content to be forced to be on a new line, add this shortcode, and whatever you add after it will be sure to be on a new line.

Switching from OpenHouseIf you are coming from Openhouse, then switching to OpenDoor is very easy. You will not need to re-post any listings, posts, or pages. But there are a couple minor things to note.

First of all, OpenDoor is not an upgrade from Openhouse. So you must install the theme as a separate theme, and then activate it. Dont simply overwrite Openhouse files with Opendoor.

All existing listings, posts, and pages from Openhouse will automatically show up in OpenDoor, but ONLY if you are running OpenDoor on the same Wordpress installation. If you are using a different domain or server, then if you want to retain all listings, posts, pages, and more, then you must first export your Openhouse data (Tools -> Export) as an XML file, and then import that XML file into your OpenDoor site (Tools -> Import -> Wordpress). Be sure to check off the attachments option so that your images will also get imported.

I had one report saying that you may need to go into each listing and update it, in order for the listing to be found in the search. This wasnt the case with me, but if you have a problem with the search, then this is something you should try.

BannersThe banners feature is completely different in OpenDoor, so if you are using banners, you must go into each listing, and choose your banner again from the dropdown. (You create the banner choices in Theme Options -> General Settings -> Banners.)
