September 25, 2019 PICTURE DAY REMINDER: PICTURE DAY IS TOMORROW! Thursday, September 26th. Every student should be photographed whether you are purchasing a package or not, so they are included in the class composite and the yearbook. Forms were sent home with students last week and it was also included in an email to all families. Students should present the order form to the photographer on Picture Day if they are ordering a photo package. There is no need to present a form if photos were preordered online.
DROP-OFF/PICK-UP Just a reminder – There should be no cars in the bus lanes (circle drive) until after buses leave at 8:00 in the morning and after 3:20 in the afternoon. If you are coming into the building to drop off or pick up, please park in the lot and. There is no parking along the front curb at drop off or pick up times. We need to keep this line moving , so again if you need to get out of the vehicle with your child for any reason, please park and walk them in so you do not tie up the drop off lane. And as always, please watch out for our children! We have noticed a lot of parents on their phones in the parking lot during drop off and pick up. This can be a huge distraction. We would like this to be a “Cell Free Zone” because of the risk to our children and families. We ask that you stay off your phones and pay attention to your surroundings until you exit the school grounds. There has already been one accident this year. Thankfully no one was injured seriously, but next time we may not be as lucky.

TARDY BELL and ATTENDANCE If you know your child will be absent for all or part of a day, please call it into the Attendance Line.
Another reminder that the tardy bell rings at 8:04 am so students should be in the classrooms by that time. If a student comes in after the bell rings they need to sign in in the office. Once a child reaches 4 unexcused tardies they they may be required to serve a detention. Please provide a doctors excuse also if your child is out for 5 days or more. As part of the State Report Card, one aspect is attendance. Our excused absences were way up last year. We just want you to be aware that this something that does affect our score. We understand that children get sick, but it would be helpful if vacations could be taken during the schools designated off days whenever possible.
IMMUNIZATIONS
Every year schools are required to assess all students’ immunization records to determine compliance with the Wisconsin Student Immunization Law. Students have until the 30th day of school to provide the appropriate documentation of immunization or a signed waiver.
Starting on the 31st day, non-compliant students in kindergarten through grade 5 may be excluded from school.
To check if your child is compliant in our record system, please login to Skyward and follow these steps:
1. Click “HEALTH INFO” in the left hand column
2. Next to your child’s name click the link “DISPLAY OPTIONS”, and choose “SHOW VACCINATIONS”
3. Contact Danielle Catarozzoli at Ext. 129 if Out of Compliance is listed. PTO NEWS Don’t forget to check the PTO’s newsletter in everyissue of the Clips.
