CUTTING

1. From fabric 1 cut:13 x 6½" x 6½“

2. From fabric 2 cut:2 x 3" x 55½" (join fabric to get the length)2 x 3" x 50½" (join fabric to get the length)

3. From fabric 3 cut:24 x 3½" x 3½”

4. From fabric 4 cut:60 x 3⅞" x 3⅞" cut in half diagonally once

5. From fabric 5 cut:24 x 3½" x 3½“

6. From fabric 6 cut:15 x 7¼" x 7¼" cut in half diagonally twice

36 x 3½" x 3½"7. From fabric 7 cut:

6 x 2½" x 42" for binding2 x 1½" x 50½“2 x 1½" x 48½"

MAKING UP THE BLOCKS

Lay out your block 1 pieces and sew in rows, then sew the rows together to complete the block. Make 9 in total

Lay out the fabric pieces for the block. You need to make four flying geese block. Sew the small triangles to each side of the larger triangle

Next make 24 flying geese for block 2

Next block, sew in rows together and then sew the two strips together to make the block. Sew 12 in total

Now stitch 4 squares together to make centre of the block. Then stitch 2 flying geese to opposite sides as shown. Sew 12 in total

MAKING UP THE QUILT

Lay out the blocks as in the main diagram, and sew in rows as shown below, pressing the seam on each way in the opposite way on each row. This will help when sewing the rows together

Sew the rows together in order

COMPLETION

Sandwich together quilt top, wadding and backing

Pin or baste layers

Quilt as desired
