The Gorilla story: Gorilla evolved from the highly successful and original Cardiff based post house – ‘Mwnci’ (Welsh for ‘Monkey’). In the Summer of 2011 we took some big steps and became The Gorilla Group. Then this year we moved to our new purpose build facility at Cardiff Bay’s “GloWorks”. Next to the BBC’s Drama village and in the heart of Cardiff Bay’s bars, restaurants and hotels our three floors house 40 edit suites, Baselight grading and Audio dubbing as well as our technical and post producing teams. Our other Cardiff bases contain additional suites plus studios, live transmission gallery, satellite, OB and hire and support companies. We may be bigger now but we'd like to think we're just as friendly, if not wiser and more intuitive... We want to be the best all-round TV facilities and post-production company in the UK - and the nicest place to hang out. Offline & Online: 50 x Avid Media Composer / Symphony v8. Full HD suites with windows, air-conditioning and client seating, serviced and supported by a tech team and runners service. We will provide you with facilities wherever suits your needs. From seaside beach huts and rural lodges, to city centre locations we can be there for you. Whatever platform, with whichever application, we will always provide you with the latest versions of software on the latest kit. We’ll make sure that your workflows are tried and tested, so that you can sit back and concentrate on the creative process.

Location editing: We have a further 20 suites and shared storage (Avid ISIS) that we regularly set up on locations and support. We can arrange for IT connectivity, DIT stations and everything needed to support onset editorial requirements. Grading & Finishing: Baselight 4k grading and DI with Aftereffects/ Avid DS / Autodesk Smoke and Quantel Pablo Rio. Come and relax in our luxurious surroundings, sipping lattes on our Chesterfields, while our experienced colorists work their magic. Our state of the art Baselight grading suite comes complete Bose surround sound, HD projection onto our 20ft screen, freshly cut flowers, and daily newspapers. When it comes to grading experiences – it doesn’t get better than this.

Audio Editing and Mixing: ProTools v11 x 6 Our sound engineers and editors are amongst the most experienced in the industry. Offering you voiceover, ADR, foley, tracklay, as well as fully equipped 5.1 dubbing studios. The team has a wealth of drama, documentary, and feature length film experience. We run the latest pro tools systems, 24 fader desks with Genelec monitoring along with HD projection. All you need to do is listen.

VFX, Motion Graphics and Design Bait Studio is our 60 person team providing integrated graphics, visual effects, animation and motion graphics for the film and broadcast industry. Our BAFTA award-winning team has extensive experience in all aspects of production - from supervising on set to providing the final polish to your production. We use a wide variety of sofware including Nuke, After Effects, Maya, Cinema4D, Syntheyes as well as a large number of plugins. Internally we use Shotgun to organise many of our large productions and support the render farm.

Data Management: We know how important your rushes are to you and your story, so we take great care of them. There are very expensive servers and very experienced people in place, which means that we can guarantee your content is secure. We are able to manage your data either at any of our Cardiff facilities or on location.
