STORY 2 (ENGLISH FINAL VERSION - CLEAN)

FADE IN:

INT. SCENE 1 - DAY

Aditya is searching for his compartment and passes a coupleof compartments. He finally finds his compartment and as heenters his compartment, he sees 4 beautiful girls in it.

As soon as Adi sees the first girl, a bubble pops above herhead and it reads "cute". Then, he looks at the second girland for her it reads "cuter". Then he looks at the thirdgirl and for her it reads "cutest". Finally he sees Anithaand for her it reads "cutesomest".

They appear like angels to him and the place looks likeheaven to him. A board pops up and reads "Heaven" (he isimagining all this). In the background he can hear the soundof people selling "amruth, amruth, amruth" instead of"tea-kaapi, tea-kaapi, tea-kaapi".

ANITHA'S FRIEND 1Babe, Who is taking us hometonight

ANITHAMy fiancee

When Aditya hears "fiancee", suddenly Anitha starts to looklike a sad girl wearing plain clothes while all the othergirls still look like angels and in fact they look morebeautiful than before.

The bubble now reads "doesn't matter" for Anitha and reads"cuter", "cutest" and "cutesomest" for the other 3 girlsrespectively.

Anitha throws a bottle at her. As soon as she throws thebottle, Adi snaps out of his imagination and they all looknormal now.

INT. SCENE 2 - DAY

ADITHExcuse me. Can you hang the bagdown there (passing a bag to agirl who is sitting furthest fromthe hook)

Anitha is sitting right next to the hook. But instead ofasking her for help, Adi asks another girl who is sittingfarthest from the hook.

ANITHA(snarky)

Ya she is really close to the hookright? How about asking somebodyfrom the next compartment !! (sheis curious as to why he didn'tpass the bag to her when she wassitting right next to the hook)

ADITHCool, cool, don't get pissed. Ijust have some rules in life. Oneof which says, getting permissionfrom your girlfriend to watchcricket and talking to an engagedgirl are the same, waste of time.

All but one laugh and that one girl doesn't laugh cos she issad that Aditya is not single.

ANITHA'S FRIEND 1(The one who doesn't laugh)

So you have a girlfriend?

ADITHNope !!

ADITHI had a girl friend but we brokeup few months back.

Anitha's friend 1 smiles cos she is happy to know Adith iscurrently single while all the other girls feel a little sadfor him.

ANITHA(Tells her friend)

Everyone in the train laugh.

ANITHASmart boy. Ok lets start then.

ADITHThank God (pauses), thought youguys will never ask (smiles). OkayI will tell the story, but in mystyle.

ANITHASo, it was the first day ofcollege. That was the first time Isaw someone as beautiful. Thosedeer like eyes (somebody's eyesare shown), parrot like nose(somebody's nose is shown)...

ANITHADid you watch discovery channelyesterday night?

ADITHUm hmm listen, those chubby cheeks(somebody's cheek are shown) thenthat cute hair (somebody's hair isshown)..

Adi pauses for a moment while everyone in the train areengrossed and eager to know what the best feature is.

The girls have been imagining a cute girl until now and areshocked to see the image of an almost bald guy withhandlebar mustache on the screen. Adi has been describinghis chemistry professor until now.

ANITHA'S FRIEND 1Deiiii, am divorcing you rightnow.

ADITHIs this a movie or what, for loveat first sight to happen(Pauses) Iwas just testing whether you guyswere listening with involvement ornot. Good, you guys are goodlisteners.

Adith begins to narrate the actual flashback and we cut thescene.

EXT. SCENE 3 - DAY

First day of college, lots of activity happening around,people are talking to each other, trying to make friends.Its cheerful all around. Arun and Aditya are walking and arehaving a conversation.

ARUN(excited)

Dude did you hear. Seniors areorganizing a freshers partytonight. There is gonna be full ondrinking..

ADITHDudeeee. Did you forget theincident with Vishnu?

ARUN(thinks about the flashback)

Forget him. Do you remember whathappened to his father (wipes hishead n they both laugh). I feelscared looking at a shower sincethen.

ADITHYou just need a reason to not takebath, don't you. So (pauses), youdidn't take bath today also right??

ARUNYou are the only one who gets mebro !! (hugs Adi to piss him offhim and Adi pushes him away cos hedidn't take bath).

They pass by Shruthi and she is gloomy.

ARUNBro look at her. She looks sadlike Murali from Idhayam.

ADITHIt must be your axe effect(chuckles). Ok lets go and askher.

ARUN(to Shruthi)

Excuse me? Why so serious? (Looksat Adi) I think (pauses for amoment) she might have eaten ourcanteen food.(cant convert the next line)

Shruthi smiles

ADITHMokka naaye!!

SRUTHI(looks at arun)

Don't ask me why i am sad. If Itell you,then you will also besad.

ARUNI am the guy who didn't feel sadeven when i was caught copying inthe board exam. So don't worry,tell me.

ADITHHow will you feel sad , you werethe one copying but it was the guywho showed you that got suspended.

See (pauses for a moment), atleastshe appreciates my talent. Camphorsmell...(pauses)forget it.

ARUN(Turns to Shruthi)

Is it my fault that I was bornwith talent. Never mind, so whyare you sad ??

SRUTHIWell, I was told there are notmany good looking guys in thiscollege (looks up at Arun), but,didn't expect it to be this bad(sighs).

Arun doesn't know how to react to this. So he looks at Adi.

ADITHDont worry dude, she is nottalking about us (pauses for amoment while Arun is happy hearingthat and nods his head at Shruthihmmm?). Actually she is talkingabout only you.

Shruthi nods her head now to approve what Adi told and theyboth (Adi and Shruthi) start laughing.

ARUN(sees the watch, embarassed)

Okay, it's time for class. I needto go.

ADITHI think, after this damage, youshould go to thehospital(chuckles).

SRUTHI(excited rasing her hand)

Should I call the ambulance!!

ARUNWait, i will tell my grandma!!

Arun tells it like a school kid, in this tone - "wait, Iwill complain to my parents" and Shruthi laughs at hiskiddish behavior.

SRUTHIOk, ok (in a sorry tone nchuckles). I am shruthi..

ADITH(introduces them)

Aditya and Arun. Which department?

ARUN(looking up, praying to the Gods)

Please don't say ECE

SRUTHIEee....

Arun is happy to hear that she is not in his department andcuts her short.

ARUNVery good, very good. Eee is thebest in our college.

SRUTHIYeah, if we get the best always,life will be boring. That's why Itook ece .

ARUN(hits aditya)

ADITHBy the way dude, she still hasn'ttold us, why she was sad. Do youmind asking ?? (chuckles).

ARUNGood riddance for them, but we arestuck now !!

Adi and Shruthi laugh while Arun is in a sad mood. We showthem walking and cut the scene.

INT. SCENE 4 - DAY

First day at class, Shruthi and Divya sit next to each otheraccidentally.

The teacher is telling the students that they all shouldstudy well, get high marks and get a good job and thatshould be their aim in life now on. She is very boring andkeeps telling again and again that getting a job and scoringgood marks is what they are here for and not for enjoying.

She also has a very monotonous voice. So, Divya draws afunny caricature of the teacher with her head like a brokentransistor, that keeps repeating things again and again. Sheis also wearing this thing that beauty pageants wear and itswritten "miss boring". She is also holding a trophy in herhand and near that it reads "16 times defending champion".Shruthi looks at it and starts laughing instantaneously. Shethen draws a student shouting "run, run, its coming, runfaster". Looking at that Divya starts laughing too.

TEACHER(looking at Shruthi and divya)

What is so funny, This isabsolutely ridiculous.

Now when she says this, it sounds like "How dare you haven'trun even after the warning" to Shruthi and Divya. They startlaughing again. The teacher gets really angry.

TEACHER(Shouting at them in the same monotonous voice)

Get outtttt both of you.

Shruthi and Divya start leaving the class.

ADITH(whispering)

Dude, she has broken rule 23 .

Meanwhile Arun is busy waving hands and showing signs to agirl outside the classroom through the window. He is showing

signs saying "You look beautiful" to the girl. The girl saysshe has a boy friend. Arun asks if she has a sister. Sheshows her sandals. Arun says "awwwwww, is that your sister?? tell her that she looks more beautiful than you".

ADITH(hitting him)

Dudeee, she has broken our rule23!!

ARUN(speaking as if there is a disaster)

Shit!! Nobody has broken this ruleafter Malvika broke it in 6thstandard. (switching to a romantictone)By the way saw her in thetheater that day, she is damn cutedude.

At this point the teacher shouts at these two.

TEACHER(shouting)

Do you guys want to join them ??

ARUNSo sweet of you mam.

ADITH(says in quick succession)

Just for you mam !!

They say this and start running out of the class withoutwaiting for further instructions from the prof, while thewhole class is laughing looking at them.

ADITH(shouting out to Divya and Shruthi)

Hello....

Arun and Adith give them a salute with a patrioticBackground score,

ADITHRespect!! But you guys broke ourrule 23.

DIVYAHi, I am Divya.

ADITHDoesn't matter even if you areAiswarya rai, you were notsupposed to break our rule 23. Bythe way, I am Aditya and this isArun.

SRUTHIWhat is that rule 23?

ARUNFor that we need to tell you asmall story (he starts to tell theflashback).

ARUNWe were in 2nd standard then.(Pauses for effect) We had ourfinal exams going on, but at thesame time the final of the crickettournament was also going on.

ADITHSo we set up 2 kids who would befake studying instead of us.

We cut to the flashback and show 4 small kids. Arun, Adi and2 more kids (for whom we only show the back). Arun and Adiare trying to make them study instead of them.

Arun is bribing them with chocolates and toys and is tellingthem (via sign language) to sit and study, faking them.

They manage to make those 2 kids sit and study instead ofthem, while they escape to play cricket. They talk whilethey are walking.

ADITHBro I am scared, is Krishna aright choice for this ??

ARUNDon't worry bro. Its all going tobe fine.

We cut the scene and show Adi and Arun in fieldingpositions. The ball is in the air, Adi runs and catches it.He is so happy. Arun runs and gives him high 5. At thispoint the fielder near the boundary asks Adi to pass theball, we zoom out and realize they they are actually ballboys.

Divya and Shruthi start laughing hard imagining all this.

SRUTHISuper catch dude, so you got theman of the match (pauses for amoment), sorry sorry, ball boy ofthe match award right?

ADITH(not giving any heed to the girls laughing, he continues the flashback)

Everything was going as planned,(pauses for effect) until Krishnascrewed up....

We cut to flashback and Adith's mom sees one kid kissing theother kid and shouts "Adiiii".

DIVYAOoops. Why did Krishna kiss theother kid ?? Abhishek Bachan andJohn Abhraham will be proud of himthough (chuckles).

ARUNThis is where the story getsintresting. Krishna didn't kiss(pauses for effect), Rahul is theone who kissed. Krishna is the onewho got the kiss and (pauses foreffect) Krishna is not a boy, sheis a girl.

Shruthi and Divya laugh their ass out hearing this. At thispoint we reveal the faces of the other 2 kids - Krishna andRahul.

Cut the scene and we show all the 3 boys kneeling down whileKrishna is eating chocolates and is doing Chicken dance tothe 3 guys.

ARUN(to Rahul who is crying)

Why did you kiss her ??

RAHUL(is crying and talking)

She is one who told me to.

ARUN(In present)

That is the day we decided towrite our rule book.

We cut the scene and show Adi and Arun as kida, wearingthick glasses like scientists and writing the rule book.

Adi takes the rule book and we show him writing the firstrule:1. Never kiss a girl

Arun nods the head to say no. He takes the book from Adi,modifies it and shows it to Adi. Adi then reads it (this iswhen the audience will be shown the book):1. Never kiss a girl, in front of the parents.

The scene then ends with they both winking at each other.

We cut the scene and come back and the girls are laughing.

ARUNSo rule 23 in that says "To be thecoolest, we should always be thefirst to be thrown out of theclass"

ADITHOk since you guys broke our rule,you guys need to get us juice inthe canteen.

DIVYAOk.

ADITHThat's nice, you guys agreed toget the juice so easily. I think Ishould have asked for somethingbig !!

DIVYAYeah, we said we will get you thejuice (pauses for effect), but wedidn't say we are paying forit(looks at Adi and chuckles).

They all start walking and we cut the scene.

INT. SCENE 5 - NIGHT

Everyone is very well dressed for the freshers party. Adiand Arun are clad in suits. They are looking at a girlwearing a green saree and she is beautiful. As soon as Adilooks at her, "8.6" is displayed in a bubble to the right ofher head and when Arun looks at her, "8.4" is displayed in abubble to the left of her head.

ADITH(sees Arun's score and gets angry)

8.4 ah (gives a shock reaction)???? No way (Pauses for a moment)8.6....

ARUNLets do 8.5, what say?

ADITHNo way!!

In the meanwhile they see Shruthi and Divya entering thehall. They both go and join the group of girls whom Arun andAdi have been sight adichufying. Adi and Arun notice thatall the girls in that group are giggling at them. They thinkthat the girls are admiring their handsomeness, so they feelproud and wave to the girls.

ARUNWhat are these two girls doingwith them (pauses), maybe theyknow them. Finally there is usefor having Shruthi in our group.

Adi opens his mouth to say something while Arun cuts himshort.

ARUNOk Ok, (pauses for effect) besidesmaking fun of me.

Shruthi and Divya join these two.

ADITHShruthi you decide, that girl ingreen saree is she 8.4 or 8.6?

SRUTHIYou are being very generous

The girls laugh at his kiddish behavior. Just while they aretalking somebody taps Arun on his back and introduceshimself.

The girls laugh while Adi and Arun stare at them. Then Adicontinues.

GAUTAMOk i will tell you guys.

Guatham narrates how he got hit by that guy. A rewind buttonis displayed on the screen and Gautham presses that button.Everything on the screen goes in reverse till the pointGautam enters the hall.

Gautham enters the hall and sees a guy already very drunkand that guy goes to grab one more drink. Gautham preventshim from grabbing that drink.

GAUTAMHi, you have already had too muchto drink, so no more. AnywayDrinking is injurious to health.

SENIOR 1You don't drink ??

GAUTAM(shakes his head)

Teetotaler

SENIOR 1(in a drunk state)

Oh you drink only tea !! By theway, did you know not drinking ismore injurious to health.

GAUTAMHow is that?

As soon as Gautham asks "How is that", he gets punched inhis face. We show Gautham bending down and when he gets up,he gets up with a band aid. We cut the scene and everyone(Adi, Arun, Shruthi and Divya) are laughing.

GAUTAM(to arun)

Only you guys didn't have glassesin your hands, so i came up here.

ARUNActually we had a couple of drinksat home and were deciding on whomto hit and you fell right into the

As soon as Arun tells this, Adi raises his hand to hitGautham. Gautham bends down and covers his face with hishands.

GAUTAM(ducks)

Plssss, I dont even have a spareband aid....

Everyone laughs. Adi makes him get up.

ADITHDon't worry we were just teasingyou, we don't drink either.

GAUTAMOk ok, but i feel really bad thatpeople like us always have to bein the corner.

From now on Adi and Arun give an inspiring speech like acoach gives to team that is losing.

ADITHBut, we have to stand up forourselves. How many days will theynot allow us to take the sidedish.

ARUNThat's right, how many days shouldI be scared by a showers andfountains.

Everyone except Adi give a confused look as they don'tunderstand the connection between shower/fountain anddrinking.

A few other non drinkers surround Gautham and Adi and arelistening to them and Adi continues his speech.

ADITHForget that, how many days willthe girls call them for a partyand call us only while studying.

ARUN(whispers to himself in a sad tone)

Adi taps Gautham and Gautham gets ready to go and give aspeech. He goes to the stage and takes a mic and startsspeaking.

GAUTAMDear friends (looks at Adi andgang and smiles) and punchingfriends (moves his hand over theband aid and looks at the rest ofthe crowd with a scared look).Today i am here to get rights forall the non drinkers

Gautham continues to speak as if he is giving an inspiringspeech and we play some inspiring music in the background(chak de India/Rang de basanthi types). We show Adi and Arunand they are in awe of Gautham's speech.

GAUTAMForget all that. You guys godrinking, but tell your parentsthat you are going to study at ourplace. But your parents call uswhen we are doing something reallyimportant. Do you know howdifficult it is to lie in thatposition ??

A bubble pops on the screen. Gautham is seeing something ontv with his mouth wide open. We won't show what is playingon the tv. A phone comes and Gautham picks the call."Vishnuand you guys are studying well right?" Gautham thinks for amoment as he is totally into the movie and he says "Yeahaunty studying from top to bottom" (Gautham looks from topto bottom of the tv while saying this).

GAUTAMSo we have to put an end to this.("end to this" echoes a couple oftimes and fades away eventually).

Adi and Arun start slow clapping and then clap thunderously.

We cut the scene and show all of them with plates in theirhands. Adi and Arun have 1 bandage each on their face whileGautham has 2 now. The girls are laughing. Arun has an icepack near his crotch and is walking slightly awkwardly.

ADITH(talks to Gautham and inquires seriously)

GAUTAM(excited that Adi guessed it right)

Gautam is smiling and then realizes he needs to be sad.

Gautham ducks thinking somebody is gonna hit him. Then aftera moment realizes that Divya played a prank and is actuallyno one around.

ADITH(Looks at Gauthams face and talks to Arun)

Bro we are better off, look at hisface (referring to Gautham), whata great design (referring to hiswounds).

Everyone except Gautam laugh.

ARUN(holds Shruthi's hands so she can't run)

Arun starts to narrate the story and we cut the scene.

INT. SCENE 6 - NIGHT

Arun and Adith are walking to a Vishnu's (this is the guywhom they talked about at the beginning of scene 3) housefor a drinking party. Vishnu has invited them to celebratehis love success.

ARUN(feels excited)

It is finally here (pauses), theday of our first drink !!

ADITH(wiping a tear of his face)

Finally....

They go inside the house. Everybody is already sitting andready to drink.

STUD 1Bro, she did not decline yourfriend request no. Then it isdefinitely love.

STUD 3Yes, Yes 100% love. To bro's lovesuccess (he toasts and everyonedrink their first shot).

Everybody toast while Aditya and Arun bang their headslooking at the immature/stupid thinking of the other guys.But they are still excited with the drink in their hand,pray to God and take a sip.

They both totally don't like the taste and their facialexpressions shows it.

ARUN(To aditya)

Bro.. your mother's tea is betterthan this man.

ADITH(Looks puzzled)

Was that tea ?? I always thoughtit was coffee (Arun bangs hishead).

We show the other guys having many shots in a short time.

Arun goes to drink coke just by itself while a totally drunkguy stops him.

STUD 1Arunu, that's for MIXING!!!

ARUNActually Dr.Google told me, if youdrink alcohol neat, it willtotally clean your stomach (pause)just like a bathroom cleaner!!

STUD 1Oh Dr. Gokul said it ?? He is abig doctor, he must be right. (Heleaves to drink alcohol on therocks and lets Arun drink thecoke).

In the meanwhile Aditya tries to steal the side dish andeat. A friend gets really angry because side dish is onlyfor people who drink.

STUD 3"Dont angry me" (says it likevadivelu) Side dish is only forDrinkers. Just watch what's gonnahappen to you know !!

He searches for something to hit at Aditya. Arun gives theguy a handful of "Karachev" (the last few pieces left) tohit him. That guy takes that side dish to hit Aditya andthrows it at him.

After he throws the "karachev", 10 pieces of it are in theair in freeze frame and the camera is paused (like in matrixmovie) but Adith actually collects them one by one and eatsthem. Adi now recollects what happened. We show Adi and Shruthi inthe theatre. At the same time when Adi holds Shruthi's handswe zoom out and show Arun is afraid too. So he holds Adi'shands. In the meanwhile Gautham sees Adi and Arun beingafraid and bangs his head. Adi snaps out and laughs back atArun.

They are walking in a perfectly lit street, neither too darknor too bright. They can hear a dog barking in thebackground.

Adi gets close to Shruthi and just about when he is about tohold her hands, he sees a stray dog. The stray dog barks atAdi and jumps at him.

The song abruptly end.

Adi freaks out and pushes Shruthi at the dog. The dogscratches Shruthi, but then Adi manages to shoo the dogaway.

Aditya feels really bad and is totally shaken up for what hedid.

Cut to back to Arun's room.

ARUN(hitting him)

What the ?? (there is a pause).Awesome use of rule 42 dude.

They both see each others face and smile. They look up atthe ceiling, and go into thinking mode when they were kids.

We cut to the flashback.

On the top of the screen it is displayed "Rule no. 42: Whenin danger, push the other person onto the dog/cat/mouseetc."

We show 3 kids with their back facing the audience. They arewalking with school uniform in a road in the night and thestreet light is flickering.

On the top of the heads of each kid, an arrow is pointed andit says Aditya, Arun and ?.

There is a street dog and its about to come to bite Adityaand Arun. They both push the other kid onto the dog and runaway.

Adi and Arun snap out of the flashback.

Adi then feels bad for behaving so childish and snaps out ofthe dream sequence by himself and starts feeling bad that heshouldn't have done this, especially to the girl whom heloves.

Now the duty doctor enters the room.

DOCTOR(Unties the kerchief and laughs at it. The kerchief has some cartoon in it and its Adi's.)

1. Adith and Arun dress up in full gym clothes, the wholegear - headband, wristband.

2. They go to the gym and meet the trainer. Adi points tothe picture of some actor with great body and then at pointshis paunch (small one though), indicating that he wants tobe like him. At this same time there is a fat boy who alsopoints at that actor's body and points towards his bellyindicating that he wants a physique like that too. Adith andArun laugh at the fat boy.

3. First we show him putting a spoonful of protein powder in

his milk. Then again, somewhere in the middle of the song,we show him putting a spoonful of powder in his milk. Thentowards the end of the song, he thinks of putting a spoonfulof powder again, but throws away the spoon and tilts thewhole jar of the protein powder in his mouth to eat thepowder just by itself.

4. We show Adith struggling to do pull ups with sweatdripping down his face, the strain can be seen in his face.Then we show his feet and they are actually touching thefloor.

5.There should be a montage of sequences where he is liftingweight, doing crunches.

6. The trainer points at a banner which says "Eat Protein tobuild body". Adi then looks outside at a live chicken. Thenext moment we show his plate and only bones are left.

7. Adi is on the bench for a bench press, he points towardsa the weight station. Arun asks if he wants 20kg, Adi nodsno, Arun then points at 40 kg, Adi says no. He then pointsat 100kg and to his surprise Adi says yes. When Arun isabout to pick that, Adi nods his head and says not that one,but the one next to it. Arun looks and sees its a 10kgweight.

8. The last scene during the song should be with subtitle"after 2 weeks", he is running on the treadmill, everybodyis cheering around him in the gym, the song is in theclimax, he is sweating, puffing and then the camera pans tothe digital counter on the treadmill and it reads 0.5km.Then the song ends.

Then there is a conversation between Arun and Adi.

ADITHGosh, I would have gotten sixpacks by now, no ??

Adi lifts his shirt to check and sees a 6 pack on themirror. Adi is very happy and looks at Arun. Arun islaughing at Adi. Adi looks at the mirror again and realizesits not his 6 pack but that of the fat guy whom he made funof in the beginning of the song.

ADITHAlso we almost convinced Divya tobecome a writer/director. All thatwas needed was a final push. Shehad finished writing her firststory.

Me and Gautham were very excitedabout our start up. After many badideas, we finally got a good oneand thanks to Gautham we used ourpart time jobs to cover theinitial expenses for the company.

ADITHSo as expected, in our start up,Gautham was the backend developer,Arun did the UI/design, Divya alsohelped him a lot in that. Shruthiwas the non-technical person. Andwe realized it was better for anon technical person to have anMBA degree, so she was preparingfor the CAT exams.

But she noticesthat her father switches on the light, takes some book,looks at the bed, goes near the bed, kisses someone andleaves. She is totally shocked cos she doesn't know who isin her bed.

She then sees the lights come on again. She enters the roomand is shocked to see her brother and her friend and theyare about to kiss. As soon as they see her, they get shockedand freeze.

They both go for a jog. While they are jogging, they seesome kids skating in a nearby skating rink. They stop towatch the kids skate.

DIVYAYeah (pauses and sees a kid skateand fall), till we get hurt(chuckles).

They see a small kid learning to skate. She falls a coupleof times but doesn't give up. Instead she is happy, gets upand enjoys falling down. Finally, the kid gets a hang of itand skates for a few meters without falling. She is veryhappy.

Then the kid calls her dad into the rink. He falls the firsttime, tries the second time and falls again and gives up andleaves the ring.

ADITH(looks at Divya)

So, how is the script coming along??

DIVYAMuch better than expected. Almostdone with half of the secondstory.

ADITHSo what are you planning to do??(pauses), you could go and speakto producer/director no.

DIVYANo dude. I can't take that risknow. For now, my only aim is toget a good job, earn some moneyand make my parents happy. Later,once I become financially stable,I will think about it.

They both continue to jog. Adi is slightly (very veryslightly) struggling while Divya is jogging effortlessly.

EXT. SCENE 35 - EVENING

We show Adi, Arun, Gautham and Divya at some ground in thecampus and it's evening time. Arun is wearing a cap as he isstill embarrassed about his tonsured head.

ADITHGuys Shruthi has gone to herrelative's place. So this is theperfect time to plan her birthday.

Shruthi just recently told meabout the surprise that herbrother gave her on her birthdayin 2008. So we have to better thatsurprise.

ADITHSo this is the plan....

Adi begins to narrate the plan and he keeps on narrating andwe show the sky - sun setting, moon coming, moon going,sunrise etc. and he is still not finished. Finally he

finishes and when he finishes, we show Divya reading thenewspaper, Gautham brushing his teeth and Arun contemplatingif he should brush or not before drinking coffee. Finally hedecides to drink coffee without brushing and he drinks thecoffee. Only while drinking does he realize that his beardhas actually grown. Arun then takes his cap off and toucheshis hair and realizes it has actually grown. He is veryhappy.

ARUN(hugs Adi)

You are my best friend dude.

Its the day of her birthday. We open the scene with Shruthigetting up from her bed.

Somebody slides a card from under her door. She opens it andit reads:

"Happy birthday again. I have planned a surprise for you.Don't ask any questions, just get ready and wait downstairs.Now say "yes" to agree to the above terms and conditions"

Shruthi smiles and is about to enter the bathroom. Anothercard is slid from beneath the door. It reads:"I said, say "YES", actually".

Shruthi smiles and says "yes".

Another card comes. She opens it and it reads - "Not loudenough, louder".

Shruthi says "YESSSSS" and this time very loudly. We showAdi on the other side of the door and this time since it wasso loud, that he can only hear the "kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"sound which one hears while getting deafened.

Adi slides a piece paper and Shruthi opens it and it reads:"Don't forget to get your ENT doctor number while comingdown"

She smiles and goes to the bathroom.

Shruthi gets ready and is waiting on the road. A car comeswith "Happy birthday Shruthi" balloons tied all around. Shegets in the car and sees it's Divya driving the car. Sheasks her what all this is about and Divya gives her a teddybear which has "No questions" written on its tummy.

From here on, the whole sequence is shown as a montagesequence, with a song playing in the background, withdialogues occasionally here and there.

The car goes to Sathyam theatre. Shruthi gets down and thereare signs everywhere showing where she has to go. Shruthienters a theatre and sees its all empty and has beendecorated with her photos from childhood. Adi enters thehall.

Shruthi is very happy and little emotional too. She hugshim. They both sit down and a slide is displayed on thescreen and it reads "Silver jubilee celebration". Shruthi iswondering what it is and then "Kuch kuch hotha hai" moviestarts playing. Its the 25th time she is watching it andhence the silver jubilee celebration slide.

The movie starts playing and while they are watching, Aruncomes and serves them popcorn etc.

The movie gets over, Adi blindfolds her and takes hersomewhere. He unties it and Shruthi sees a really beautifulantique car. A tear rolls down her cheek and she kisses him(peck on the cheek). They sit in the car and start driving.

They go to Anjappar. The table already has all her favoritedishes and they are hot and ready to eat. After they aredone with the main course, Gautham comes and serves themdesserts.

Then they again start driving and while they are drivingthey see a bunch of cops in a checkpost. They are checkingfor a stolen car, the same type as the one they are driving.

ADITHLets take another road.

Shruthi figures out something is fishy.

SRUTHIDid you steal the car ??

ADITHDon't use big words like stealing.Just took it for a small testdrive, (pauses), but forgot totell the owner about it.

Shruthi smiles, hugs him and asks how did he do it and Adishows her a book "how to steal for dummies". They continueto drive.

They then stop the car at a private beach and the place isall beautifully lit. There is a hoarding which says "Marinabeach".

ADITHDidn't have the budget to clearthe whole marina beach, so thissetting.

She smiles, they hold hands and walk in the beach. Then theyleave the beach and again start driving.

SRUTHIHey why did you miss the last twoturns, Arun's house is that wayright.

ADITHYeah I totally forgot. Wait, howdid you know we are going toArun's house ??

SRUTHIActually remember I was supposedto go to my relative's house thatday but they called me and askedme if it was okay for me to comenext week. So I thought I willjust meet up with you guys and atthat time only you were tellingeverybody about your small plan(chuckles).

ADITH(becomes sad)

What ?? So you know the whole planis it ?? And you acting sincemorning !!

SRUTHINo sweetheart, I didn't want toruin your surprise, so I left.Then when I came back the next daymorning and only then you weretalking about what was going tohappen at Arun's house. So I onlyknew about the last part of thesurprise.

ADITH(sulks)

We cut the scene and show Arun's house. They both enter thehouse and its all dark. There is a cake with candles on atable and Arun, Gautham and Divya are standing besides it.Adi is still a little sad cos Shruthi knew a part of thesurprise.

Shruthi goes to blow the candle and cut the cake. Somebodytaps her from behind. Shruthi turns around. Everybody shout"surprise" and Shruthi sees that its her brother. So thiswas the actual surprise and all the rest was actually adecoy.

SHRUTHI'S BROHappy birthday di !!

Shruthi gives him a hug, turns around and hugs Adi. She isreally happy and emotional too. She cuts the cake.

SRUTHIWhen did you plan this ??

ADITHThis is the real surprise,everything else was a decoy(changethe word)

We cut the scene and show the scene when Adi was narratingthe plan.

ADITHGuys I overheard Shruthi speakingto her relatives, she is going tomeet them next week only. So shewill be here in a bit. Please guysact properly and don't screw.

DIVYA(Looks around)

She is coming.

They see Shruthi coming and they start talking the way theyhad rehearsed.

We cut back to Arun's room and see everyone smiling and wecut the scene.

INT. SCENE 36 - DAY

Its placement time in college. Aditya, Arun, Gautham andShruthi are outside some building in the campus. Everybodyis praying in their own style.

Adi and Arun are praying with their eyes closed (recitingslokas), while Gautham is deeply meditating and Shruthi islooking up, making gestures in her hand and literallytalking to someone in the air.

ARUN(opens his eyes and looks at Shruthi)

SRUTHIShhhh, don't disturb. Am praying.

Shruthi's line moves slightly faster and she gets ahead ofAdi's mom. She pretends like she didn't see them and actslike she is seriously praying. Adi's mom sees Shruthi.

We show Adi playing video game in his room. His things areall scattered around. His room is in a big mess. Adi's phonerings. Since he is playing he doesn't see who is calling andputs the phone in speaker mode and starts speaking.

We cut the scene and show Adi lying in his bed. It's alldark (metamorphic that it has become dark after she has leftalthough it's actually dark cos it's night). Adi is stillthinking about what happened and what he could do to makethis work.

Suddenly a msg comes and his phone lights up and he can seethe wallpaper which has Shruthi and him together. He looksat his table. There is a trophy which they won in thestartup weekend and next to it is a photo of him and Shruthitogether. He thinks for a moment, nods his head to showdisappointment and gets up to go and talk to his mom.

Adi's mom and dad are discussing in the hall and Adi entersthe hall. They are having a checklist of items they need toget for Adi.

ADITH'S MOM(is shocked that Adi is kissing Shruthi, that too in front of her)

ARUN(shouts out to Adi)

Shruthi starts to run away crying, Adi enters the traincrying, the friends are still sad for them and the parentsare still in the state of shock and we cut the scene.

EXT. SCENE 39 - DAY

This whole realization episode is shown as a montage songwith dialogues in between.

Adi enters his room in the hostel and sees the bed and isremembered of the good times he had with Shruthi in his bed- watching movies, hugging each other etc.

There is role call/attendance in college. They call outShruthi's name (cos she was actually supposed to join) andAdi goes into his zone thinking about her.

There is freshers party in college and he sees a girldancing gracefully and without any inhibitions and getsreminded of Shruthi.

Adi makes a couple of friends. He hangs out with them andtries to get back to normal, but he cant. We show him in arestaurant amidst his new friends. They are all talking andlaughing, Adi tries to laugh too. We show the frame, where,except him, everything else seems to be faded, things seemto be moving fast around him and he has a lot of peoplearound him, yet he is very lonely.

Adi goes to the gym and one of his new friends tells himthat he wants to get a six pack for his girlfriend and

starts running on the treadmill and gets tired in a fewseconds. Adi smiles looking at that as he gets reminded ofthe past.

Prof. Vinay comes to their college for recruitment. He tellsother students that Adi was his student and tells them thatthey should chase their dreams and do what they like, justlike Adi and Gautham, who are trying to start their companysoon.

Adi then actually thinks about it and realizes he is nothappy here and he is not liking what he is doing. At thispoint all he actually wants in life is Shruthi. He alsothinks about how Arun, Gautham and Divya are doing what theylike, especially Arun, given the playful guy he has been,how he left everything and went for his paati.

Adi is thinking something and walking on the road. He sees areally small, cute dog that somebody is walking. He walkspast it and then stops. He thinks for a moment and thencomes back. He looks at the dog again and decides to go andpet the dog. But as he goes near, the dog looks at him andbarks. He gets scared and runs away.

Adi's friend says that he wants to surprise his gf for herbday but he doesn't have money and Adi gifts him the "how tosteal for dummies" book to him and gives him some advise.

One of Adi's friends in the MBA school invites him to hisbrothers wedding reception. Adi goes to the reception.

Adi gets scared, shakes his head and starts running. Hetakes an auto. As the auto starts going, he notices apregnant lady on the road. Again an image pops up on hismind. He knocks the door and Shruthi opens the door, holdinga baby in her arms and her white boyfriend is standing nextto her. Shruthi talks to the baby and says "Adi, say hi toAdi uncle". Basically she named her kid Adi :).

Adi gets even more scared and says "anna, konjam seekramponga" to the auto driver.

We split the screen and at the same time its night in US.Shruthi walks out of some house with a backpack. She sees abig gate and its actually opened. But then she says "cha"and starts to climb the gate.
