The constitution of the Students’ Union UCL AIESEC Society 1 Name 1.1 The name of the society shall be the Students’ Union UCL AIESEC Society. 1.2 The society shall be affiliated to Students’ Union UCL. 2 Statement of Intent 2.1 The constitution, regulations, management and conduct of the society shall abide by all Students’ Union UCL Policy, and shall be bound by the Students’ Union UCL Memorandum and Articles of Association and Byelaws, the Club and Society Regulations and the Club and Society Procedures and Guidance, laid out in “how to guides”. 2.2 The club/society stresses that it abides by Students’ Union UCL Equal Opportunities Policies, and that club/society regulations pertaining to membership of the club/society or election to management of the club/society shall not contravene this policy. 2.3 The Club and Society Regulations can be found at the following website: www.studentsunionucl.org 3 The Society Committee President 3.1 The President’s primary role is laid out in section 5.7 of the Club and Society Regulations. 1

The constitution of the Students’ Union UCL AIESEC Society

NameThe name of the society shall be the Students’ Union UCL AIESEC Society.

The society shall be affiliated to Students’ Union UCL.

Statement of IntentThe constitution, regulations, management and conduct of the society shall abide by all Students’ Union UCL Policy, and shall be bound by the Students’ Union UCL Memorandum and Articles of Association and Byelaws, the Club and Society Regulations and the Club and Society Procedures and Guidance, laid out in “how to guides”.

The club/society stresses that it abides by Students’ Union UCL Equal Opportunities Policies, and that club/society regulations pertaining to membership of the club/society or election to management of the club/society shall not contravene this policy.

The Society Committee

PresidentThe President’s primary role is laid out in section 5.7 of the Club and Society Regulations.You may add specific details to the job description of your President if you wish.

TreasurerThe Treasurer’s primary role is laid out in section 5.8 of the Club and Society Regulations.

Vice-President Talent Management (VPTM; Welfare Officer)1.1.1 The VPTM’s primary role will be to support both the President and Treasurer with administrative tasks, including but not limited to the administrative tasks required for the organisation of events, with the aim of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the society members.1.1.2 The VPTM shall keep track of the welfare of the members on a weekly basis, keeping them accountable for all the various tasks which have been assigned to them.

Management of the society shall be vested in the Society Committee which shall endeavour to meet regularly during term time (excluding college reading weeks) to organise and evaluate the Society’s activities.

The Committee members will perform the roles as described in section 5 of the UCL Club and Society Regulations document.

Committee members are elected to represent the interests and well-being of Society members and are able to be held to account. If Society members are not satisfied by the performance of their representative officers they may call for a motion of no-confidence in line with section 5.6 of the Club and Society Regulations.

Terms, Aims and ObjectivesThe club/society shall hold the following as its aims and objectives.

The club/society shall strive to fulfil these aims and objectives in the course of the academic year as its commitment to its membership.

The core activities of the society shall be:

1.1.3 Taking part in regular promotional activities to give all students at UCL access to AIESEC’s exchange opportunities abroad.

1.1.4 Facilitating the process of application to said opportunities.

1.1.5 Contributing to the development of its membership through regular training activities in a wide variety of topic areas.

1.1.6 Striving to pursue any action which further AIESEC’s goal of promoting peace and fulfilment of mankind’s potential.

In addition, the society shall also strive to organise other activities for its members where possible:

1.1.7 Including team social events on a regular basis to improve team cohesion and bonding.

1.1.8 Including some whole society social events aimed at bringing all members closer together.

1.1.9 Possibly including some large-scale events open to the general public to build AIESEC’s brand awareness.

This constitution shall be binding on the club/society officers and shall only be altered by consent of two-thirds majority of the full members present at a society general meeting. Activities Network Executive shall approve any such alterations.

This constitution has been approved and accepted as the Constitution for the Students’ Union UCL AIESEC Society. By signing this document, the President and Treasurer have declared that they have read and abide by the Students’ Union UCL Clubs and Societies Regulations.
