It is December and time to elect the new Board of Directors for Ben Hur Shrine. For the past year it has been my honor and privilege to serve Ben Hur as your Potentate. I want to thank the Board of Directors for all their support this year and for all we have accomplished. Thank you to the Nobles and Ladies, who do the work so necessary to help raise the fraternal and charitable funds for Ben Hur Shrine and Shriners Hospitals. A very special thanks goes to my Lady Vinna, for all her help, love and support throughout my years on the Divan. She has been by my side every step of the way and I do appreciate all she has done for me and for Ben Hur Shrine. I hope you will support the few events that are left in 2018 and support us as we bring the year to a close. We will have a New Year’s party with a fee of $15 per single person and $20 per couple. We will start the evening at 7:00p and have snack food through the night with a full meal at the end of the evening. I look forward to seeing you there. My Lady Vinna and I wish each of you a blessed and Happy New Year! God bless Ben Hur Shrine, our Service men and women, and all emergency personnel.Fraternally,

Greg Rye

Hello Nobles and Ladies,

Chief Rabban

Nobles and Ladies of Ben Hur, It is December and Old Man Winter is around the corner. Santa is getting his Sleigh ready, checking his list twice for those kids that are naughty and nice for that one night journey around the world. So I hope you made the nice list!

On the serious side, we have election of officers this month, Christmas parties and a few dances. Check the Chariot for details. Also on January 5th, at 10am, we have the installation of your new Divan and ap-pointed officers plus all your Unit Heads. I hope y’all can make it.

Short and sweet this month. One thing to remember, Membership is our NUMBER 1 priority. So if you feel someone could be a great Shriner, sign them up!

YITF,

JeffClark

Ladies and Nobles,Thank you for another wonderful year on the Divan! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! I am looking forward to an exciting 2019.My 2018 New Year resolution was to be on top of the highest mountain in Texas. I did that the first weekend in November. The highest mountain in Texas is Guadalupe Peak at 8,751 feet. The hike was about 4.8 miles each way, with an elevation change of about 3,000 feet, and took a little over seven and a half hours of walking. It’s not an easy hike, but once at the top, the view is very rewarding.

My 2019 New Year resolution is to finish a triathlon. I already signed up for one for May 2019, and I am currently training for it. Look for my June 2019 article on how that went.During my first year on the Divan, I was asked what I hoped to achieve at Ben Hur. My re-sponse was that I want to see Ben Hur at over one thousand members again. There is no time frame on that, but I am convinced it will happen. Join me on realizing that dream!

Yours in the Faith,

Romeo Denghel
