Altar Server training: The second altar server
training for all current and new altar serv-
ers on Saturday, 19 May at 10:30 am in the Cathe-
dral. All the youth of parish 2nd Grade through
High School are invited to become a server at the
Cathedral.
Mass of the Neophytes
Mark your calendar for Trinity Sunday, 27 May.
The 11:15 am Mass is for all of the Neophytes of
the Diocese to celebrate their new lives in the
Catholic Faith!
The Charleston Catholic School’s annual auction
was a great success! CCS would like to thank eve-
ryone who attended and supported the school as
well as Mayor Tecklenburg for acting as the Hon-
orary Chairman for the evening.

Christian Formations News:
Parents of 1st Communicants: Sunday, 3 June is the Feast of Corpus Christi. There will be a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of downtown after the 6pm Mass. The streets will be blocked off from traffic. First Communicants are needed to dress in their 1st Communion outfits. Girls will carry baskets of rose petals to be scattered during the procession and boys will be holding candles. If your child can partic-ipate, please email Karen at [email protected].
Christian Formation children will be praying
the rosary this Sunday, 13 May, in the Cathe-
dral in honor of Our Lady of Fatima. Parents
are welcome to join us. This will be the last
class of the school year!
It is time to enroll your child in Cathedral’s
Sunday school program for the 2018-19 school
year! Classes begin 26 August 2018. For your
convenience, all forms and fees can be paid
online at www.charlestoncathedral.com,
emailed to Karen McLaurin, or mailed to the
Parish Office at 105 Queen Street, Charleston
29401. Classes meet from 10:05-11:00am in the
Cathedral Center classrooms.
Parents with children preparing for sacraments,
1st-2nd grades, will be required to attend sever-
al parent classes scheduled throughout the
year. These classes will meet on Sundays, 10:15-
11:00am in the lower church. If you have
young, non-school age children, the nursery is

thedral following the Vigil, 9:00 and 11:15 AM Masses.
If you are interested in a tour, please wait next to the
Pulpit after Mass.
Sacrament of Marriage
Either the bride or the groom must be a practicing
Catholic and registered at the Cathedral for at least
twelve months before scheduling a wedding date and
beginning the six month marriage preparation. The
bride/groom must be an active parishioner, regularly
attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obliga-
tion, and use of the envelope system in support of the
parish. The Wedding Policy Booklet may be found on
the Cathedral Website.

Active Membership
Various facilities and services are available to our ac-
tive members. This includes use of the church for Bap-
tisms, Weddings and other Sacramental events, God-
parent/Sponsor letters, and includes parishioner status
in parochial schools.
Active Membership is determined by four things:
Being properly registered in the parish for a suffi-
cient period of time.
Faithful attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy
Days.
Use of the envelope system in support of the par-
ish.
Being active in at least one parish program, minis-
try or organization.
