What is it?

Scalextric is a toy brand for a

range of slot car racing sets

which first appeared in the

late 1950s, as a creation of

British firm Minimodels.

The Track

The Track is made up of

interlinking plasitc

sections with 2 metal

grooves running along it

that is electrically

charged the cars sit in

these grooves and are

powered by them

The Cars

The cars come in all

shapes and forms all

basically having the

same electric motor

running underneath

the body. They even

make vans and

motorcycle versions

as well.

Spin Offs

If there was a movie or a

program that contained cars and

racing them there would more

than likely be a Scalextric spin off

such as the james bond autos

Alternative Models

Rather than the normal

modelautos they created

alternatives such as

horses, towing caravans,

Batman and Star Wars
