TRANSCRIPT
Well the end of 2017 is upon us. The year has flown by for me. We
will be completing the heli/quad pad in a week or two. It has been an
interesting year. We have had some bumps during the year but so far
the club is in good shape. The land has been graded and cut by the
City and all we need to do is spray it down to eliminate future growth.
The sprayer has been attached to the tractor, it has a new water
pump and next week a new alternator. This should go a long way to-
wards its longevity. The tractor hasn’t been maintained at all for many
years. A big thanks goes out to Richard Lawrence who has done the
majority of the work.
We continue to get new members joining the club and some old
timers have returned.
Next month we need to again get nominations for your 2018 Execu-
tive and Board members.
Reminder: Please last one out at the fields, lock the gates.

BOARD MEETINGS 1ST MONDAY OF THE MONTH
GENERAL MEETING 3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH
NEXT GEN MEETING JAN 21, 2017 9:00 AM AT AIR PARK
Est. 1976 Academy of Model Aeronautics Gold Leader Club
HEMET MODEL MASTERS BOARD MEETING Minutes for January 2, 2017
Meeting called to order by President Mario Muniz at 6:56 pm. Board members present; Mario Muniz, Richard Lawrence, Stewart Robinson and Scott Boersma. President Mario Muniz started with projects we need to complete that were proposed for 2017. The helicopter pad will be a nice addition to the flying field. We have decided on a 15’ x 15’ concrete slab. We will drag one of the shade structures over to give heli and quad pilots a place to work. We also need to finish spraying the main field. We will begin when the tractor is repaired fully. We will be having two IMAC events in 2018. one in perhaps in Jan and the Regionals will be held at HMM sometime in October. We will be looking into setting up all the events for the club and perhaps a new one or two. Stewart Robinson and Mario Muniz were approached by a production company asking that we shut the field down for three days because they are going to be filming some automobile commercials and want to limit exposure to the public. They agreed to make a donation to the club for the inconvenience. The information was relayed to the board and it was decide that it was in the best interest of the club to allow the closure. They had approached the City and the City referred them to us. So we benefited from the referral. We need volunteers again for the Veteran’s Day event held in November at Gibbel Park.
Meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM Members Present 5

HEMET MODEL MASTERS GENERAL MEETING
Minutes for "December 17, 2016"
Meeting called to order by President Mario D Muniz 9:05 am. Treasurer Stewart Robinson gave the Treasurer’s Report. Motion to accept by Dwayne Higgenbothem and seconded by Ralph Torres, voted and approved by all members present. President Mario Muniz called for a motion to approve last months minutes as published in the newsletter. Motion to accept by Eddie James and seconded by Kevin McDonald, voted and approved by all members present. Old business; The need to finish repairing the tractor was brought up by Mario Muniz and Richard Lawrence and he will look into taking care of it. We also need to clear the rest of the weeds, then drag and spray the field to try and prevent future growth. President Mario Muniz spoke to the members present about the need to finish putting in the helicopter/Quad Copter pad at the east end of the field. Interest is increasing and we need to have an area designated foe these aircraft so as not to encroach on the fixed wing aircraft when they are in the air. Richard Lawrence suggested that President Mario Muniz approach the farmer next door to see about getting water for the sprayer attached to the tractor. President Mario Muniz reported to the members present that we have added eight new members to the club in the last 6 weeks. Meeting was short.
Meeting adjourned at 9:40 am Minutes submitted by Mario Muniz Total Attendance 15 persons

Permanent TFRs issued for major sporting events and Disney properties On October 27, the FAA issued three Permanent Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) creating re-strictions for the airspace surrounding major sporting events and the Disney properties in Anaheim CA and Orlando FL. The new flight restrictions permanently prohibit the operation of unmanned and radio-controlled model aircraft within roughly 3.5 miles of both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks. The restrictions are also in place for a period of one hour before and one hour after major sporting events.
Metropolitan Water District Aqueduct Information for Retrieving crashed aircraft. Mike Thompson is the service representative that services the aqueduct near our main field. If your airplane is behind the second fence and not in the water runoff it is serviced by Mike Thompson. His direct line is 626-844-5610. Note: Before calling be nice and explain that you are with the Hemet Model Masters and that you have crashed you’re rc plane beyond the second fence and would like to retrieve it without breaking any laws. If your plane is between the first and second fence it is serviced by another agency (Securitas Security), Mike Thompson can not help you. Hopefully this will help our members to retrieve their aircraft.
