Two years after the Muslims of Makkah migrated to Madinah to escape persecution, they were attacked by an army of polytheists from Makkah who wanted to wipe out Islam completely.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) together with 313 companions took up arms to defend against the attack and despite being outnumbered three to one, was able to defend Madinah and e�ectively save Islam.

According to Muslims, the battle of Badr was one of the most significant battles in the history of mankind as it protected Islam and established it as a religion for the rest of time.
