SEARCH Light The News & Information from In Search of the Lord’s Way Ministry O ccasionally people ask, “Why do you call the name of your program In SEARCH of the Lord’s Way? Don’t we already know what the Lord teaches about what to do to be saved?” The answer, of course, is yes! We do know what the Lord teaches about what to do to be saved, but not everyone knows. Some sadly do not know the Lord at all, while others have been deceived by false teaching and do not know the Lord’s way. Are people searching for the truth, for the Lord’s way? Indeed some are! While not everyone is interested, many want to know the truth about God, about eternal life, about what happens after we die, about the cross of Christ, and about the church. Many souls feel abandoned by their denominations, because these denominations have taken doctrinal and moral stands that no longer respect the authority of God or the Scriptures. We as faithful Christians have the message people need most, the gospel! We make every effort to preach the truth in a loving and kind way and yet without compromise. Like Paul we can say, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16). We never know who or where or when someone begins searching for answers. We do know that we will never have a harvest if we do not plant the seed. We do know that if we preach the word, people will come to believe in and love the Lord Jesus. Please join us in this effort with your prayers and your financial support! May the Lord be with you, Phil Sanders SEARCHing for the Truth At SEARCH we preach the gospel, the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are in the business of persuading people to believe and to obey the Lord Jesus. We strive to lead everyone to be faithful members of the church of Christ. We want them to know, to love, and to serve the Lord all the days of their lives. We believe sowing the seed of the kingdom is the highest calling and the most urgent work of all. Every person who supports this ministry is our partner. We know that when people hear the preaching of God’s holy word, they will come to have faith (Romans 10:17). Many are anxiously studying the candidates for the United States presidency. We pray that our new president, whoever this is, will lead this country in righteousness and will continue to protect our freedom to worship and practice our faith in peace. Let’s pray God will continue granting us the privilege of preaching the gospel of Christ to a lost and dying world. Occasionally people ask, “Why do you call the name of your program

In SEARCH of the Lord’s Way? Don’t we already know what the Lord teaches about what to do to be saved?”

The answer, of course, is yes!

SEARCHing for the Truth

At SEARCH we preach the gospel, the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Without the freedom of speech and religion, we would not have this television ministry. Let’s pray God will continue granting us the privilege of preaching the gospel of Christ to a lost and dying world.

Since Jackie’s surgery on September 28, I have spent much of my time taking care of my sweet wife. This has given me some time to catch my breath and plan for the future. Jackie has progressed rapidly with her knee and is growing stronger each day. We are so grateful for all the outpouring of love and concern for her wellbeing.

As 2015 begins to wind down, the Staff of IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY thanks all of our loyal volunteers for the many hours of service they have given to this ministry. Without our volunteers our mailings would be extremely slow and very expensive to process.

We have placed in this newsletter a picture of the sign in front of the Quail Ridge church of Christ in Bartlett, TN building advertising the SEARCH program. As you can see it shows the station, channel and time the program airs. Over the years this type of advertising has proven worthwhile because when local people see you advertising SEARCH, they associate this local church with the ministry. Then they are much more comfortable attending because they have a good idea what will be taught and how the services will be structured. Many look forward to congregational singing without instruments.

This week I was talking to a lady from California who had been watching the program for years. One Sunday morning she decided to attend a local church of Christ and within a few weeks she was immersed into Christ! People are watching the program in your area, we know they are! And, signs like the one pictured this week really work to encourage folks to attend. Once you have a sign posted, take a picture of it and send it to us. SEARCH will use it, if possible, in one of the upcoming newsletters to share with others.

The mission of IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY is to be an evangelistic outreach of the local church of Christ in every community the program is shown. We partner with churches to be a method or tool to reach into the homes and hearts of people in your neighborhood. We want to work hand in hand with you to plant the seed of the Gospel in the hearts of all who will listen. Together we can expand the Kingdom of God and give Him the glory and praise for the harvest!

As always, the SEARCH staff appreciates your prayers and your support of this ministry! If you have questions about SEARCH or need information to help you evangelize in your community, give us a call or send an email to [email protected] and we will assist you.

KINGSTON, TN “Our hearts were intensely stirred having learned of the departing of Mack Lyon. A ‘Valiant Soldier of the Cross of Christ.’ We extend our genuine expression of sorrow to his family and each of you of the Edmond Church. Thanks for today’s program, 9/6/15!!! The three lessons of Mack were superb!!! Your gracious words of appreciation in Phil’s letter of June 25, 2015 were like ‘apples of gold in plates of silver.’ We pray that the ‘Love of Christ and the Peace of God’ will bless each of you in the continued success of the Search Program.”

MONROE, OR “We learn a lot and are encouraged by the program.”

NEW CASTLE, IN “I am an inmate in prison and watch your service on Sunday A.M. I am blessed by it and would like

friends go there. That was a Great Sermon and will be a great benefit to my friend and to me to give more light and understanding.”

PRUDENVILLE, MI “What a wonderful way for us to listen to Phil when we travel. Sometimes we miss his gospel-lesson, and so his CD’s come in handy. We listen to them in the car and when finished they may be given to others.”

RENO, TX “Brother Sanders, please keep up the fine work you are doing. My wife and I are lifelong Christians and met with the saints at every opportunity. Recently, I became disabled and no longer can attend services. Doing the best we can to have a brief devotional, including the Lord’s Supper, followed by the Search program.”

FREEMONT, CA “We listen to the broadcast every Sunday morning before we go to Bible Class and worship at our local congregation. It is such a wonderful way to reach the lost that was started by Brother Mack Lyon. We were so sorry to hear of his death, but know we will meet him again in glory.”

to receive your Bible Course if possible. We are not allowed any church services here in prison, but each inmate can have a TV with ear phones so we do get to watch Christian services. I understand the Lord forgives us, but we have to pay the consequences for our sins.”

ALBUQUERQUE, NM “Phil Sanders preaches the truth in such a loving, caring way – so needed in this old evil world. My prayer is that the Lord allows him to continue for many, many years.”

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX “I am writing to ask you to send two booklets of the sermon Broadcast on this past Sunday – Oct. 4th – ‘Are You Listening To God?’ One copy for myself – and one for a friend who was raised up in the Church of Christ – obeyed the Gospel when very young – but is now attending the Baptist Church because her
