Getting Back to NORMAL School is certainly back into the swing of things. This week we have work being done in the hall (today in fact) which means that the hall is unavailable for assembly today. We will be having assembly tomorrow and all certificate pictures will appear in next weeks newsletter. School holidays start in 2 weeks time. The last day of term 2 is Friday 3rd July. We finish at the normal time of 2.45pm. Term 3 will be a busy term with winter sports beginning, 3-way catch ups, a simplified report going home and, for our year 6 students, the transition and enrolment to Intermediate School begins. Term 3 calendar has been added to the back of this newsletter. It contains the events for Term 3 (to date). Please remove and add to your fridge or notice board so that you can access dates as you need them. Growing Through Grief ACW provides the Seasons for Growth ® programme, which offers peer- support groups for children, young people and adults who are experiencing change, grief and loss in their lives. This may include the death of a loved one, parental separation or divorce, moving house or school, as well as many other life changes and losses. Seasons for Growth ® aims to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and adults who have experienced significant loss and change, and to support individuals to adapt to what they are experiencing. and understanding, and restore self-esteem and self-confidence. This occurs in the safe atmosphere of small support groups facilitated by trained volunteers called Companions.

We have access to this programme starting in term 3. We have two groups available. If you are interested in knowing more or having your child/ren participate in this please contact Kate for registration details: [email protected] or call the office.

BOOKS, BLOKES and BREAKFAST This is taking place on Wednesday 1st July, 2020. We are asking learners to bring their favourite ‘bloke’ with them to be part of this.

Cooked breakfast will be provided

Please RETURN your NOTICE to ensure we have numbers for catering. We would hate anyone to miss out!

UNIFORM and Warriors Jackets It has been great to see so many of our students wearing their Warriors jacket to and from school. The weather is currently wet and this is a good to ensure that your child stays warm and dry.

If your child DOES NOT have a jacket please contact the classroom teacher so that one can be accessed for you.

EVERY Ebbett Park School student should have a jacket.

centre.  We are open from 7.30am till 6.00pm each day from the 6th to the 17th of July 2020 offering daily activities in a safe and fun environment. We have a mixture of old favourites, onsite and offsite activities and activities that will allow the children decompress and feel a sense o f normalcy a f te r the d i s r u p t i v e t i m e t h e y h a v e experienced this term.  We would love it if you could promote our programme through your newsletters and other communication forums such as Facebook.  I have attached a jpeg with the Holiday Programme details.  I have also included the timetables of the Hastings programmes for your information.

Permission Slips Books, Blokes and Breakfast

On Wednesday 1st July we are having a cooked breakfast in the school hall at 7.30am.

We are inviting all blokes; Dads, Grandads and Uncles (special blokes in your life).

Bring yourself and your Tamariki with you to the hall and we will share some yummy breakfast and books together. You can also bring your special Rugby gear to have signed.

There will be some special guests!

If any ladies would like to help cook breakfast please return the form to the office.Also return if your Tamariki and special bloke will be attending.

Reading Together Programme

This term we will be running a Reading Together Programme starting on Tuesday 28th July from 9.00am – 10.00am in school in the library.

We will be able to give you lots of good ideas that will support you and your child with home reading.

There will be three sessions and you need to be able to attend all three.(Tuesday 28th , 4th, and 8th August)
