All Source Positioningand Navigation(ASPN)
More advancedPositioning
More reliable andaccurate than GPS.
Can also track particularperson and can beviewed in 3D.
How ASPN Works?
• DARPA is developing sensors that“use signals of opportunity” such astelevision, radio, cell towers, satellites, and even lightning, forreal-time tracking.
• The ultimate goal is to develop acompact navigation system thatcould be given to soldiers, put ontanks or implemented in guidancesystems. For that, the sensors andcircuitry have to be shrunk downand designed to operate within acertain power consumption limit.
