WE ARE RESPONSIBLE

Not enough emphasis is being placed on physical education and health in our society

In order to make up for this deficit, teachers of all content areas need to encourage physical activity and promote healthy living

We need to educate ourselves in order to educate our students

Make healthy choices, practice healthy living, and be a role model

A challenge for all teachers in the area of physical and health teachers is to become more aware of the content standards in relevance to today’s young people.

STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING TECH-PACK IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH EDUCATIONTeachers should ask themselves three questions to help them move to their most optimized zone (the intersection of all three components)

1. Do I have the physical education and health education content knowledge I need to assist my students in meeting the standards within my classroom?

2. Do I have the pedagogical knowledge needed to teach the physical education and health content within my classroom?

3. Do I have the technological knowledge needed to teach the physical education and health content within my classroom?
