FOOD FOR FLORIDA DISASTER FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AVAILABILE IN LAKE AND SUMTER COUNTIES LEESBURG - The Department of Children and Families (DCF), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), will implement the Food for Florida Disaster Food Assistance Program in Lake and Sumter counties to assist individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Irma from September 30 – October 4. To qualify for the Food for Florida Disaster Food Assistance program, applicants must have lived or worked in one of the counties declared for FEMA Individual Assistance on September 5, and not be receiving food assistance through the regular Food Assistance Program. Additionally, eligible individuals and families must have suffered a disaster-related loss, such as damage to their homes or self-employment property, loss of food, reduction or loss of income, or have incurred other disaster related expenses. DCF will provide or mail Electronic Benefits Transfer cards to eligible individuals and families to use at authorized USDA food retailers. The program counts only income and expenses from September 5 through October 4, 2017. Individuals are encouraged to apply (pre-register) prior to visiting the Food for Florida site. College Board has announced Free November SAT Registration and CSS Profile Fee Waiver for Hurricane Impacted Students. Information is in Guidance.

Students who were scheduled to take the ACT on September 9th should check their messages on their ACT account for the rescheduled date. Each test center has chosen a diferent date. If you do not have an email please call ACT at 319-337-1270.

Ranking for Graduation Honors will be based on Fall Semester Grades.Dual enrollment Grades for Fall semester will be included in the Collegiate Ranking.*Eligibility for Collegiate Graduation Honors requires that seniors maintain their current course load.

*Seniors are required to continue with their second semester courses and pass all classes including Dual enrolment and On-Line Courses . Collegiate Honors will be forfeited if courses are dropped and/ or failed.

2004 - SpaceShipOne reached an altitude of 368,000 feet. It was the first privately built, manned rocket ship to fly in space twice within a two week window. The ship won the Ansari X Prize of $10 million dollars for their success.
