News from K-2

We have been learning from home for over two weeks now and students in K-2 have been busy completing work from their learning packs. It has been wonderful to be able to communicate to students via SeeSaw, and it is great to hear recorded messages from students in response to assigned activities. Pictured in the newsletter are some of K-2's magical creatures. This was a creative arts activity where students drew a magical creature and thought of a sound that their creature would make. Unfortunately you can't hear the sounds that go with the drawings, they are very interesting. Annabelle flew her kite after writing about her kite at home and learning about the letter 'k' making the sound /k/. Millie found an old lantern in response to a history task. It is about 86 years old! Elijah is also pictured here, working hard to learn his spelling words. We are really missing our K-2 students and hope that we will be back to face-to-face learning soon.

↓ Matilda’s Pen Pal from Mount Nebo State School, Queensland. Aisha is a very talented Cartoonist!!

All students at Tarago Public School have a Pen Pal from Mount Nebo State School. The students have been writing back and forth since the beginning of 2021. It has been great for students to interact with children in a school of similar size to us. They write to each other telling them about themselves asking questions. This has been a great learning activity for all the children involved. Below is a letter sent to Matilda from her pen pal Aisha. Children have been encouraged to talk about themselves and their life and interests.
