Here’s Grade 5/6C’s views on the topic. What’s you view?

“Chomp, chomp, yum!” Junk food is not good for you. Junk

food can ruin your health. It’s not good for your health we

should have to close down. If you’re wondering which ones

they are, here are a few: KFC, MACAS, and HJ.

People like take a way food and some people don’t. Why? I

don’t know do you? Well it’s because it’s cooked in oil and

oil is fat and fat ruins your health. Health helps you live your

life .

Some people have junk food all the time and some people

have it on special occasions such as: birthdays, Christmas,

Easter, New Year’s, Halloween, Weddings, Engagements and

Baby showers and that’s when most people buy takeaway

food. Jorja.

Should ALL junk food places be shut down because they offer unhealthy food?

5/6C have been

writing persuasive texts

about fast fo

od restaurants. Their focus has been on the

structure of their argument as well as try

ing to

elaborate on their ideas.

I agree we should shut down some junk food stores because

obesity is increasing in Australia because we keep adding more

unhealthy food shops. I personally think obesity is pretty bad

because it can cause heart problems and a lot more problems.

I think we should put more health food stores in Australia like

juice bars, salad shops, smoothie bars, and fresh food for people

so not as many people are obese.

I agree we should get rid of some unhealthy stores because people

are eating it for breakfast lunch and dinner.

You should still have at lest 3 sweets a week so your blood sugar

levels aren’t low because other wise you might have to go to

hospital.

We should shut own unhealthy stores because obesity is

increasing in Australia. Jada

McDonalds, Hungry Jacks and KFC can taste delicious… but it’s NOT good; it’s not good for your health and being healthy is important. For this reason and more I think fast food restaurants should be shut down. Without a doubt, obesity is a massive problem these days . Being obese is serious because it’s very unhealthy and can (if you are very overweight) be deadly to your life. In any case, life is meant to be lived running around & having fun! NOT sitting around on the couch eating KFC while watching movies! We were meant to be fit and happy so we can live life to the fullest NOT stuffing our faces with food we don’t even need! If you think that chocolate is a good breakfast then I don’t want to know what you have for lunch, dinner, dessert or any other snack in between! Eating well is the best thing you can do for you, your family and your body. In conclusion I think fast food restaurants should be shut down because obesity is getting worse, we should be fit not fat and having healthy food makes you a better person. So when life gives you lemons make something healthy and delicious. Tamsyn

Fast food shops should shut down because it makes you overweight, lose your life and most fast food shops creep into towns. All fast food restaurants should be shut down because

Australia is becoming one of the fattest countries in the world. I don’t want that to happen to our Australia, which we call home. Instead of Pizza, people should be eating steak, salads, sushi and everybody’s favourite wraps. Scientists have proved that people who are healthy live longer and feel better and even

might have a six pack. Fast food restaurants are sneaking into towns such as Drouin

and more. Almost every town you go into, you might find a McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks, Red Rooster, Donut King, Fish

& Chip or a Pizza place. McDonald and other shops should only be used for special

occasion and treats, not for day to day use. People should only get a treat once a week and not once a day.

All in all I believe that all fast food shops should be closed down,

because obesity is getting more common in Australia. How

would you feel if you were overweight and nobody cared about

you? Think about how YOU would feel about dying from

obesity? By Jack

Here’s Grade 5/6C’s views on the topic. What’s you view?

I strongly believe that fast food stores should not be shut down, just because

people claim it’s unhealthy. In the first place, people don’t eat food from fast food restaurants every day. If people did eat fast food every day, it wouldn’t be the

business’s fault, because it’s the customer’s choice.

People have fast food for special occasions, so that means closing down the stores would affect celebrations. They shouldn’t be shut down because; people choose how

often they eat it, fast food stores are a great treat, it can be used for celebrations and

special occasions, it’s quick to get, and fast food can be healthy. Would you allow all fast food restaurants to close down for life? Think about what you would do if

there were no fast food stores? By Sharni

Fast food restaurants should not be closed down because some provide healthy meals. I think they shouldn’t close down because they provide lots of jobs, they’re good rewards for kids and offer a good balance of food. I believe fast food restaurants should not be closed down for unhealthy meals because they provide lots of jobs at McDonalds, Hungry Jacks and KFC. If they were closed thousands would loose their jobs. Without a doubt, fast food restaurants should not be closed down! Think about jobs, choice and a balanced diet. Wade Diston

I strongly disagree that all fast food shops should be shut down! Even though some shops sell junk food that is not a big deal so they should not be shut down! All fast food shops are great for long boring car trips. If you need water, snacks or even the toilet they are there for you! If you are in a hurry there is a drive through too so you don’t have to get out of the car. If you have very little money and need to buy breakfast, lunch or dinner most fast food shops are open 24 seven and have a food to suit every person. Not all fast food shops sell junk food so of course they shouldn’t be shut down. In conclusion all fast food shops should clearly not be shut down. They are quick, cheap and really, really yummy. Plus some fast food shops are healthy so even more of a reason that they should not be shut down! By Tigerlily

Fast Food Stores should not be shut down because it could cause many problems such as people becoming bankrupt! Besides, people only have meals from places

like KFC, Mc Donald’s and Hungry Jacks as a treat or special occasion.

If any fast food stores are shut down it could cause people to lose money as these fast food stores hold a lot of jobs. Money is very important for keeping you alive

and happy such as having food and a house and electricity. Most fast food stores are

just down the street so you can order your meal straight away and you don’t have to wait for the oven. If people choose a healthy nutritious salad from Mc Donald’s you

are helping the obesity in Australia which is a good thing.

I strongly believe that no fast food restaurants should be shut down unless the world is going to explode which shouldn’t happen any time soon. Eryn

Unhealthy fast food restaurants should not be banned completely. I think it is okay to have a treat every so often. However, fast food places are everywhere you go and that needs to be changed.

A pro, is that most of the fast food places, like McDonalds and Hungry Jacks has free Wi-Fi. But sometimes it will not

work. Unhealthy food like McDonalds can be really bad for you but nice as a treat. So do not eat it too often. It is bad for you to eat it too often and it is unhealthy and it makes you fat. So I hope I have persuaded you to stay away from fast

food places! Caitlin

I think the answer should be no, we should not close down fast food stores.

There are many reasons why we should

not shut down fast food stores. Let me tell you why.

People know their limits and should not

go beyond them, but that does not mean we should get rid of fast food stores

once and for all. If they get shut down,

what was the point of the Government allowing them in the first place?

If people go beyond their limits it may

lead to diabetes or fat and lots more, and that will be their own fault. So when

you’re in a fast food store just think of

the consequences you may suffer. Everyone is allowed a treat once in a

while like pizza or a burger but you must

make sure it does not become your eve-ryday life. If eaten too often you could

overload and you will have to go

through the trouble of losing weight. Parents should be guiding their children

and helping them to make the right

choices. So remember… stay fit, stay healthy;

but… you can have a treat once in a while. Thankyou Emma.

I disagree that all junk food places should be closed down. People have lots and lots of fun there; it is also a good place to have a little treat once in a while. I strongly

believe that all fast food places like Hungry Jacks, Mc Donald’s; KFC and so on

should not be closed down. Lots of people around the nation will lose their jobs; do you really want that to happen?

Some people even go there just to have different food for a change. Like sea food,

fish and chips, pizza, ice-cream, chips, chicken, fruit and lots of other foods that are delicious. If you go to Hungry Jacks, restaurants, Mc Donald’s and KFC, you don’t

have to cook your own food, which can be good for some people. Kelly

McDonald’s, KFC etc. should not be shut down because

they sell unhealthy menus. It

is our choice if we have fast foods.

It is our choice if we have fast

food or not. Some fast food stores have healthy choices

like at McDonalds they have

apple pie, some hamburgers, salads, wraps and waters.

At night time some people

have Hungry Jacks, McDonald’s, and KFC for

dinner because they are

coming back from their holiday or on their way to

their destination. Cadence

Mc Donald’s, KFC, Subway and Hungry Jacks being shut down just because they offer

unhealthy food is disastrous! Not all fast food

restaurants are bad for you because some don’t just sell unhealthy food.

In the first place, even if fast food is unhealthy

you can fit it in with exercise and healthy food; you should have fast food occasionally. In

addition, fast food is a treat for a birthday or

other types of celebrations plus if you want food on the go, fast food is fast to get and eat quickly.

The government can’t tell us what to eat but they

can give us recommendations for what we should eat but, they can’t force us to eat certain foods.

Finally, it’s not the fast foods place fault for

making people get overweight or fat as it’s the person’s fault themselves, for eating it too much.

By Jay

I think that fast food restaurants should not be closed

down because; McDonalds will

have to be shut down like all of the other fast food restaurants.

If fast food restaurants are closed

down I will not eat what I want to be able to eat, which is

McDonald’s, because I like it.

It’s not the junk food restaurants fault; it’s the

governments fault, because they

should have said no junk food in the first place.

I love junk food so much that it

will make me cry if they are closed down.

By Dylan

I believe that fast food restaurants should not be shut down because some people just like to have a treat and don’t eat it all the time. People that do choose to eat it a lot, that is their choice. If we were to shut down all the fast food places what about the healthy fast food places? I think that fast food places should not be shut down because sometimes healthy people like to treat themselves with fast food. I understand that some people do eat it all the time, but that’s their choice not ours. So instead, tell the people who eat it all the time to change their diet. Lastly, in the world there are many fast food places that sell healthy food. So if we were to shut down every single fast food places how many of them are healthy and help people? Those are just a few reasons why I think that fast food places should

not be shut down. By Chloe

I strongly believe Junk food stores shouldn’t go out of business!!

Perhaps a couple should be shut down because there are too many in the

world. They can be used when you don’t have much time, you are coming

back from a trip or birthday dinners. We all know it’s a sometimes food

but there’s no reason to shut them down. Here are some of my main

reasons! Say it’s the 19th, it’s my birthday and we go out for dinner, it’s

fine unless you then go out for a special dinner every night in the week.

If you had health issues as well you would most likely put on lots of

weight. However it’s not the shop owners fault if you eat too much and

this leads to becoming overweight or obese. I strongly think fast food

is for special occasions only!!!! Lauren

Should ALL junk food places be shut down because they offer unhealthy food? I strongly disagree that we should close down unhealthy food stores; having a treat every now and then is okay. Meeting up with a friend is okay. It’s your choice: you can eat what you want. It’s not the shop owner’s fault that you can eat too much. I strongly think that we should not close down any unhealthy stores. We are allowed to have a treat whenever we want, but too much can make you sick. One meal a week is okay or for a treat is okay I like to have a treat after I play netball I night get a $1:00 large frozen cokes for a treat. Hailey
