• –  Internal Training; conducted by Senior Staff

 –  In-House Training; by outside certified trainer conducted at site –  Public Training; conducted by certified organizations/related agencies

• Course content may vary depending on target groups. Training formatinclude class room training and on site trainings.

• Staff category includes Plant Operators, Controllers/Technicians,, , ,Staffs, Civil Workers and Patrolmen and Officers/Managers

• Discussion on studies carried out, participated by all staff involved in theparticular study, irrespective of rank. This promotes dissemination ofknowled e and exchan e of views amon the staff and enhance teamwork

Security, Safety & Health

• SSP1 is classified as Major Hazard installation due to storage of chlorine atsite and is subjected to CIMAH Act

• SSP1’s has 28 members Emergency Response Team (ERT) consist ofstaffs from various sections.

• The ER team will act as first responder to any emergency (chlorine leak, fire

etc) at site• Trainings and refresher trainings are continuously provided to EmergencyRes onse Team members b Chlorine su liers and also b JabatanBomba & Penyelamat

• Safety and Health Committee represented by SSP1 staff from all rank andfile hold meeting every three months to discuss various safety & health

issues• Safety & Health Awareness Trainings/Courses are also provided to all

SSP1 staffs. The trainings are either by SSP1’s Safety Officer or certifiedtrainers from National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) orMalaysian Society for Occupational Safety & Health (MSOSH)

b) Limnological Survey of Impounded WaterConclusion :Iron and manganese are in the soluble form in the Hypolimnion. With intake further downstream

of the dam releases from the hypolimnion will not pose treatment problem.

ya) Selection of Coagulants

Aluminium Sulphate (Alum) and Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC)

Coagulant PAC – Fi l t er – SSP1 Coagulant Alum – Fi l t er – SSP1

Conclusion :PAC more effective in removal of iron and manganese.(i) PAC does not depress pH as much as Alum.(ii) Due to the catalytic action of PAC.

b) Removal of Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn)Use of Potassium Permanganate (KmNO4)

c) Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Concentration Variation in a Sludge Blanket

Conclusion :

. . .(ii) The rate of D.O. concentration varies with the length of time of retaining the sludge. The sludge could turn anaerobic, changing the form of Fe and Mn from insoluble to soluble.

(iii) The study indicates the appropriate time for washing the clarifier.
