Facts about the incandescent light bulb

About 5 % of the energy is transformed into light.

In order to spare the environment it is now prohobited to use indescendant light bulbs.

The halogen bulb can transform three times more of the energy into light than the indescendant light bulb.

Bulb survey

This diagram shows how many bulbs each person of our class use in their home.

Despite a ban of the 15 % of all bulbs in this survey are incandescent light bulbs.

How we get our energy40% of the worlds electricity comes from coal. The largest coal plant is (here) in Poland.Every year it produces 27-28 TWh of electricity.800g of CO2 is released pr. KWh of electricity.55% of the energy in the coal is a waste. There are several ways to transport coal to a coal powerplant.

Much of our energy also comes from solarcells and windpower. The demand for green energy in Denmark is increasing.

The future of coal:Increased effenciensy.Running out of coal in storing CO2 in the earth. The most envoremental friendly power plant is Avedøreværket in Denmark. It is estimated that we will run out of coal in year 2160.

History of Windmills What is known as the first automatic windmill was

built by Charles F. Brush in 1887. It was able to produce 12 kW.

In the 1980´s a normal windmill could produce about 22 kW, but now a windmill can produce 6 MW.

Witin some years it is estimated that windmills will be able to produce 20 MW.

In conclusion they are improving rapidly. Within 2030 it is expected that half of the danish

energysupplies will come from wind power.

The future of windmills:Windmills in citys, and rooftops.Windmills grow taller.Altitude changing.Less noising.Slower.

Funny facts about windmills Windmills kill about 20,000 birds

each year. The earliest windmills were found

in iran. Nowadays the blades of some

windmills are larger than a footballfield.

One wind turbine can produce enough energy for approximately 250 homes.

Water useIn Denmark we use water everyday. One person uses approximately 130 liters a day, or 46 cubicmeters a year.

It takes 1500 Liters in order to grow one kilo of wheat but it takes ten times as much ot make a kilo of cow meat.

The carsPetrol is getting more expensive around the world. There is almost no oil left in the world. We are getting more people in the world.

Page 15: Sustainable Consumpti on and Production. The incandescent light bulb Source: C3%B8delampe

The electric car The electric car is flameable and it need

to recarge all the time. You can have solarcells on your car.

The danish energy agreement. We will produce more windmills offshore and onshore.Conversion to renewable energy in buildings and industry.Increased focus on using energy more efficiently.Support for wave power projects.Increased focus on biogas, particular through financial support.Increased focus on district heating.Citizens and companies will be subject to environmental taxas for 3,5 billion danish crowns. In 2020 CO2 pollution should be 34% less than in 1990.

35% of all energy must come from renewable energy in 2020.Long-term goal: In 2020 the entire energy supply will consist of renewable energy.

Report:At Hansenberg Gymnaium we have made report about energy sources, and how these effect the environment.

We have four copys for each country, if there is a demand for more, you are more than welcome to ask Morten Jørgensen to send you a copy.
