Our sustainability efforts are categorized in three areas,
each composed of various worldwide initiatives.
1. Environment
2. Health
3. Corporate Social Responsibility (Giving Back)
Sustainability initiatives are led by our Facilities,
Procurement and Travel departments, with contributions
from across Parexel, including teams in Human
Resources and Corporate Communications.
Every Parexel colleague worldwide shares in a respect
and commitment to our sustainability efforts.
This Sustainability Charter is reviewed and revised bi-
annually, with updates on quantified initiatives made
annually posted to Parexel.com.
Overview
Jamie Macdonald
Chief Executive Officer
Our guiding principle at Parexel is “We Care” and acting With Heart is the
foundation of our culture. Caring extends to our work environment and to
environmental sustainability globally, consistent with Parexel’s focus on
ethical behavior and compliant practices.

Policy
Historical policies and practices have been aligned
and adopted into this focused approach. While
oversight is held by the Senior Vice President, Corporate
Services and Chief Procurement Officer, Parexel
colleagues at every level and in every department
worldwide share responsibility for implementing our
sustainability efforts.
We are committed to:
Considering sustainable impacts in every process
we perform
Evaluating sustainability initiatives qualitatively
and quantitatively
Promoting sustainability among our vendors
and customers
Publicly sharing our sustainability efforts
Continuously improving our sustainability efforts as
aligned with Parexel’s philosophy of continuous
improvement
The commitments set forth in this Sustainability Charter
are aligned with the Coalition for Environmentally
Responsible Economies (CERES) principles, a 10-point
code of environmental, occupational health, safety and
sustainability conduct currently embedded within the
“CERES Roadmap for Sustainability.”
These principles include:
Protection of the biosphere
Sustainable use of resources
Reduction and disposal of waste
Energy conservation
Risk reduction
Safe products and services
Environmental restoration
Informing the public
Management commitment
Audits and reporting
Our sustainability
efforts are focused on
improving any areas
where there may be an
environmental impact
from our work as a
biopharmaceutical
services provider.
Parexel is committed to preserving our working environments through the efforts shared
within our Sustainability Charter.

Parexel operates as a biopharmaceutical services provider and tenant,
consuming less energy in our daily facility operations and with less control
over consumption than compared to other industries such as manufacturing.
Our sustainable management of utility consumption and implementation of
sustainable design elements are top priorities.
Environment
Parexel is striving for LEED certification in
facilities where we are the sole tenant or
a significant tenant, and thus can influence
landlord decisions.
We have been awarded LEED GOLD
certification for the energy efficient and
sustainable build-out and renovation of our
150,000-square-foot facility in Hyderabad,
India, and other certifications in our facilities in
Billerica, Massachusetts and in Schönefeld,
Germany.

Examples of Conservation Efforts at
Parexel Offices:
Signed an agreement with Renewable
Choice Energy to purchase renewable
energy credits offsetting our energy
consumption in the U.S. by 100 percent.
Additional sites are being incorporated into
the agreement globally as we LEED-certify
new facilities.
Voluntarily report our environmental and
process data to CDP, an international not-
for-profit organization providing the only
global environmental disclosure system,
with more than 5,000 companies
responding annually.
Use reduced-water-flow devices, energy-
efficient lighting and appliances, along with
environmentally friendly cleaning
detergents.
Globally recycle standard office supply
waste (paper, ink, etc.).
Actively educate employees on taking
practical actions to save primary energy
(e.g., switching off office lighting,
computers, machines, etc., when not in
use).
Voluntarily report annually to Ecovadis, an
international Corporate Responsibility
scoring company, achieving scores above
industry average.
Our facilities in Berlin have collection bins
for batteries and plastic pens to be
recycled. For each pen collected,
Terracycle.com donates 1 cent to a
charitable organization of the collector's
choice. Parexel directs these donations to
Prima-Klima-weltweit.de to support its
reforestation efforts.
In our U.S. facilities more than one ton of
tea and coffee packets used in our
beverage machines have been recycled to
date.
The UK’s Facilities team uses an innovative
AI technology to reduce a building’s carbon
footprint and provide a more comfortable
and stable work environment.

As a global organization employee travel is a vital part of our business, and
an area where we strive to make a positive environmental impact. Some of
the programs and policies we promote include:
Sustainability Charter
Utilizing car services such as Embarque,
which consists exclusively of U.S. EPA
SmartWay and SmartWay Elite Certified
vehicles or equivalent.
Utilizing rail over air travel where possible,
such as Deutsche Bahn, which uses 100
percent renewable energy to operate its
long-distance trains.
Partnering in some cities like Buenos
Aires with Neutral Carbon Footprint taxi
companies like “Cabify.”
Promoting a travel policy that encourages
employees to consider alternative
approaches to business travel (e.g.,
telephone calls/conferences, video
conferences).
Partnering with airlines like Delta, which
starting March 1, 2020, committed $1 billion
over the next 10 years on its journey to
mitigate all emissions from its global
business moving forward.
Monitoring global travel with respect to air,
rail, car and hotel usage to preserve or
reduce existing CO2e levels in total and
per employee.
Encouraging Parexel employees to
consider modes of public transport such as
train or bus, and to select those over private
limousine or cab services to the extent
possible and feasible. Parexel is also
actively encouraging car-sharing where
available.
Parexel uses CISCO Telepresence
video conferencing. This gives employees
the opportunity to conduct meetings while
saving on travel, thus reducing the
company’s carbon footprint.

We are in the process of revising our HS&E
manuals and procedures.
We are implementing specific ImsXpress
software to ensure companywide HS&E
continuous improvement.
Parexel is actively working to develop a Health, Safety & Environment
System with the goal of preparing for certification in ISO and OHSAS
standards.

Leveraging the size of our global organization and the associated large
supplier group, we have implemented procurement processes that
encourage vendors to prioritize sustainability practices in their products and
services.
Environment
Sustainability is integrated into the supplier-
selection criteria within RFI/RFP sourcing
processes.
Supplier-agreement templates have
language included to encourage
sustainability practices.
The use of small, disadvantaged, minority-
owned U.S.- based suppliers is
encouraged.
Health & Wellness

Parexel is committed to our corporate mission to improve patient health. As a service
provider to the biopharmaceutical industry, health and wellness is an essential part of our

help our employees be their best to deliver on our mission, we offer a range of wellness
programs and incentives.
For more than five years, our U.S. wellness
program has helped to increase awareness
of healthy living habits, and to support
employees in their efforts to make positive
life changes. Our wellness program offers:

(help with family issues,
emotional concerns, financial
and legal matters).

In our hub locations outside of the U.S., we
support employee well-being through locally
favored programs, including running clubs,
health screenings, flu vaccinations,
biometric testing, fruit at the office,
gym discounts, badminton sessions,
yoga classes, swimming clubs
and access to employee
assistance programs.
Diversity & Inclusion
11
Diversity & Inclusionr
Parexel’s commitment to Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) fosters a culture where our colleagues,
customers and patients feel valued, respected and supported to achieve their best and
where all individuals agree that, “This is a place for people like me.” We realize this
commitment by implementing a three-pillar strategy to 1) Raise awareness, 2)
Operationalize our vision, and 3) Take action as individuals and as an organization.
Parexel has established dedicated resources and programming in support of this strategy.
Steering Committees
Talent Acquisition: The overarching goals
of this committee are to integrate D&I in
succession planning, management,
corporate values, organizational
development and through learning and
development and to empower leadership
to drive full business engagement and
participation.
Gender Partnership: This committee
exists to promote an inclusive work
environment where all genders can flourish
and create value for Parexel, our customers
and shareholders. It is composed of key
executives at different locations and
business units of Parexel that influence and
operationalize our commitment. Long-term
goals include:
Create a work environment that is
respectful and values all genders.
Empower, support and develop women
leaders.
Build a partnership that engages men
and women in advancing a culture of
inclusion.
Identify and address institutional blind
spots and barriers in order to better
leverage talents and skills of all genders.
Achieve representation within our
leadership that reflects the gender
distribution of our employee populations.
Better collaboration, innovation and
bottom-line results and more engaged
employees.
Diversity & Inclusion
12
Diversity & Inclusion
Parexel Pride: The Parexel Pride Steering Committee
seeks to advance and promote a caring and inclusive
culture where colleagues can bring their whole self to
work through the inclusion and awareness of our
LGBTQ+ patient, colleague and customer
communities. Goals include:
Internal survey to answer the question, “What is the
global perspective and opportunities related to this
group that impact colleagues’ engagement?”
Be the voice of our LGBTQ+ communities through
support, resources and education.
Promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity through Marketing,
Talent Acquisition, and Patient Recruitment.
Foster support of patient inclusivity across Parexel.
Multicultural: This newly formed committee works to
advance an environment of inclusion to better
collaborate and deliver excellence as we work across
ethnicity/nationality, culture and regions. Preliminary
goals include: solidify committee vision, establish first-
year goals and priorities, and create an execution and
participation plan.
Supplier Diversity: This forthcoming steering
committee will further enhance Parexel by having
systems’ capability to track diversity spend and set
spend objectives as a percentage of total spend in line
with best practices. We will work closely with our
customers who have similar programs and objectives
to ensure that Parexel’s Supplier iversity program is
a competitive differentiator.

Community Engagement
At Parexel our overarching guiding principle is “We Care” — expressed through the words
“With Heart.” Caring is the foundation of our culture and reflected in how we treat our
customers, our patients, our communities and each other.
Through the generous volunteerism of our
colleagues, we positively impact communities
around the world, “With eart.” A few examples of
our colleagues’ many acts of caring include:
Parexel collaborated with IT for the “Africa Takes
on COVID- ackathon.” ur colleagues
participated in a virtual hackathon to generate
innovative and practical solutions for meeting critical
needs in Africa with a Parexel executive volunteered
as a hackathon judge.
Using the hashtag #NoGoingBack we highlighted our
industry and business response to the COVID-19
pandemic on International Clinical Trials Day.
Demonstrating our commitment to keep the patient
at the heart of everything we do, we recognized our
Patient Advisory Council and celebrated our
partnerships and collaborations with organizations
that accelerate life-changing/life-saving medicines.
We also reaffirmed our continued support for the
Center for Information and Study on Clinical
Research Participation (CISCRP) — the industry’s
leading expert on clinical trials — with a $25,000
donation.
Colleagues from Madrid, Spain created the Spanish
Caring Committee with a mission to support and
raise awareness of the needs of disadvantaged
people in their local communities and beyond. The
committee and our 200 plus colleagues in Madrid
play an active role in improving the lives of others.
In Buenos Aires, colleagues participate in “Misión
Solidaria” annually to collect food for needy children
through a partnership with an NGO whose main
objective is to promote the social inclusion of the
most vulnerable groups in Argentina.
Colleagues in India volunteer as tutors to support a
program that provides education assistance to
underprivileged children.
In the U.S., Parexel sponsors Light the Night walks
in Boston, MA, and Durham, NC, to support the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Colleagues
walk and raise money to fund research for blood
cancers and to improve the quality of life of patients
and their families. The Parexel team exceeded its
$10,000 fundraising goal and was recognized as a
top corporate fundraising team.
Colleagues in our UK offices run, walk and race
together in events throughout the year to raise
money for scientific research, including the Race for
Life series for Cancer Research UK. Several UK
locations hosted Tea & Talk sessions to raise money
for the Mental Health Foundation.
Mariano Fanatico, Parexel Proposals Specialist and
attorney based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was
given leave for an unpaid internship with the South
Africa Litigation Center. While in South Africa, he
volunteered on the historic trial which led to a
unanimous decision to decriminalize same-sex
sexual conduct between consenting adults, hailed as
a critical step to ensuring equal protection of human
rights for all individuals in the country.
In India, colleagues partnered with a local NGO
called Choti si Asha (CSA), which means a ray of
hope, to generate income for poor basti (slum)
women, through a program called “Stitch a iving.”
Our team helped the women expand their products
and our offices buy the stitched items as gifts for
visitors and for the 1,700 employees in our Mohali
and Chandigarh locations on their birthdays.
In South Korea, colleagues joined our partner
Celltrion to prepare kimchi, which is a staple in
Korean cuisine, and then delivered the kimchi to the
needy.
