What is PayPal?

• An eBay company

• PayPal lets any business or consumer with an email address to securely, conveniently, and cost-effectively send and receive payments online.

• Ideally suited for groups currently under served by traditional payment mechanisms

Opening a Chapter PayPal Account

• Easy and quick– Requirements: Chapter E-mail Address

& Chapter Bank Account– Choose PayPal Business Account– Complete the simple 2-page registration

form

Using PayPal• Market PayPal

– Flyer– Add button to website– Evite

• Members must open own PayPal personal account– Credit card– Bank Account information

• VISA, MC, AMEX, Discover, or a bank account

Using PayPal• Member sends money to Chapter email

address• Member must use comments section for:

– Name– Contact number– Event they are attending

• PayPal emails confirmations to both the sender and receiver.

• Chapter can either keep a balance in their PayPal account or transfer it to the Chapter bank account.

Foreign Currency

• PayPal currently supports payments in U.S. Dollars, Pounds Sterling, Euros, Canadian Dollars, and Yen.

• PayPal can convert currencies for cross border transactions.
