Anti-wrinkle injections treat wrinkles and lines caused by over-active muscles.

This kind of wrinkle generally forms on the top section of your face, from your hair line to below your eyes. These wrinkles can be treated with an injectable muscle relaxant.

As we age we may start to look more tired than we feel. Lips and cheeks in particular can show the first signs of ageing, losing volume and deflating like a balloon. Rosacea is a skin condition characterized by sebaceous hyperplasia, skin thickening, dilated vessels, and often certain kinds of intra-follicular bacteria.

The V-beam laser is a type of pulsed dye laser (long pulse) designed to treat vascular lesions such as port wine stains or the skin vessels of rosacea. Pulsed dye lasers work by emitting laser energy at a 585nm (yellow) wavelength that happens to correspond to an absorption peak of oxygenated blood.

Injection lipolysis is a safe, non-invasive procedure used to reduce unwanted body fat build-up, in areas where healthy lifestyle changes have not been effective for reducing fatty tissue.

Injection lipolysis addresses the uneven distribution of fat rather than overall obesity.

The process uses a combination of mild, fat-dissolving medication micro-injected directly into the unwanted fat layer under the skin.

How does injection lipolysis work?The active substance used for the injection lipolysis procedure, Phosphatidylcholine (PPC), is a lecithin extract taken from the soy bean. Emulsifying fat, lowering cholesterol, and activating the immune system response are just a few life sustaining properties of PPC.

PPC injected into fat deposits has a detergent like effect, causing fat cells to rupture and dissolve. Fat released by the cell is metabolized by the liver and excreted by the body. There is also tightening of the skin in treatment areas, which may be more than would be achieved by liposuction of the fat deposit.

Depending on the body area treated, one to four treatment sessions are necessary. The majority of patients (89%) need either one (17%) or two (72%) injection sessions to achieve the desired results. Treatment sessions are taken 8 weeks apart. Results are typically seen 4 – 6 weeks after treatment.

ULTRASOUND GUIDED SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy has been a routine medical vein procedure since the 1960s . Ultrasound guided sclerotherapy (UGS) uses special ultrasound equipment to guide injections of sclerosant, which close the abnormal varicose vein. It can be used for visible varicose veins and for spider veins or thread veins. This technology can be used to inject the part of the varicose vein that is not visible on the surface, which has led to the ability to close veins permanently.

Endovenous laser treatment is a minimally invasive alternative to the surgical stripping of the saphenous vein.

Instead of removing the vein, we seal and close it in place. During treatment the skin on the inside of the knee is anesthetised, and a small laser fibre is inserted into the damaged vein. Pulses of laser light are delivered inside the vein, which causes the vein to collapse and seal shut.

Endovenous laser treatment is performed in-office under local anaesthesia.

Dr Pin has years of experience with diagnosing and removing skin lesions. We do not rely on computers to assess risks of skin cancer.

Persons at increased risk for skin cancer include those who:

• Have red or blond hair, fair skin, freckles, and blue or light-coloured eyes.

• Live in sunny climates.• Have a family history of skin cancer,

especially melanoma.• Have a personal history of skin cancer.• Work around coal, tar, arsenic compounds,

creosote, pitch and paraffin oil.• Have damaged skin, such as a major scar or

burn.Have actinic keratosis, a precancerous condition of thick, scaly patches of skin. It may also appear as a cracking or peeling lower lip that does not heal with lip balm.
