Baptism Readiness Class/Lenten Class for kids!In conjunction with the Sunset Dinner and Study for Lent, we will have classes for 1st-5th graders and childcare/play time for the younger children. The children will have classes directed toward lent with discussions about how God sent his son, who God is, how does the Holy Spirit fit into the picture. These will be done in a fun and

interesting way that allows kids to ask questions and understand the topic. Older children (mature 3rd graders & up) who are interested in being baptized can choose to do a parallel class with Miss Stacy that will be similar to our previous baptism classes. These will include some discussions to continue at home. They will be fun and thoughtful classes the kids will enjoy.

Sedona Summer Camp Sign Ups Begin this month!

Youth Group

N21 Challenge for this week: Meditate on Psalm 51:10-12 (every day) Ash Wednesday Week

New Sunday Morning Small Group Studies Begin.  During the winter quarter we took a look at the person of Jesus who was a prophet, priest and king.  From there we moved into an eight-week study on the Exodus.   In March, the youth will begin a new series of discussions.  Jr. High students will revisit our December theme and look at the doctrine of God the Father, the Son, and the Spirit.  Sr. High students will look more exclusively at the person of the Holy Spirit (who the Spirit is, what role the Spirit fulfills and the characteristics of a spirit-filled life). Challenge your teens to recall and share what they learned and discussed with their Sunday morning groups.

UCYC Summer Camp-Summer will be here before we know it. We are accepting registrations for the 678 camp in Prescott and the HS camp in Ojai, CA. Keep your eyes and ears open for more details.

Sunset Dinners & Study

Join us for a sunset dinner and study during the lenten season, Wednesday evenings, beginning March 16. Dinner will be served from 5:45 -6:15 on the patio of the Prayer Garden, followed by a study on Romans from 6:20-7:00. A separate children's program will be offered

during the study. Make reservations for our first dinner, March 16, in the Welcome Book.

The Chaparral LabyrinthThroughout the year Chaparral Christian Church offers opportunities to travel the path of a labyrinth. The labyrinth is not a maze, but a prayer and meditation tool in which the traveler journeys from the world to seek time with God. Walking the labyrinth does not demand great skills of concentration in order to benefit from the experience. Instead, the sheer act of walking a complicated path begins to focus the mind. The labyrinth experience sensitizes us, educates us and helps us distinguish superficial thoughts from the thought that each of us longs to hear. We hope that the labyrinth experience will provide you an opportunity for meditation, reflection and prayer as you journey with God.

The Chaparral Labyrinth’s © unique design contains five internal and two external stations.  The labyrinth can be used with or without the stations, individually or as part of a guided labyrinth experience.  The final form of the labyrinth, built by Creative Environments, is comprised of 9,585 pavers creating a path of 1,187 feet.

Thank you!House of Refuge would like to extend a

New Sermon Series for LentAutobiography: Mar. 13-Apr. 24

So what did Jesus say about himself?  What would he put into his autobiography?  During the season of Lent we will explore the life of Jesus as found in some of the “I am” sayings taken from the Gospel according to John.

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along.

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
