Thank to our wonderful VBS Volunteers!!

Jambo! (Hello is Swahili!) It takes many to create such a wonderful VBS.  With your help and support, we were able to enroll and bless 140 children.

Not all, but some jobs included to provide this wonderful ministry:

donation of craft supplies shopping and delivery of craft supplies

endless hours of cutting, preparation, and sorting craft supplies making scene backdrops, props, and decorations making and decorating saw horse animals

cooking and cleaning moving large numbers of chairs and tables

preparation of typed materials and hand outs preparation for classes walking and talking with the campers

sound, music, and comedy teaching the campers

drivers for House of Hope most of all—prayer and sharing God’s Word

Thank you also to some wonderful businesses that donated! Please be sure to patronize these wonderful places.

Fry's at 32nd and greenway for donating breakfast items Bagels and Bialy's (Gold Dust & Scottsdale) donated bagels & cream cheese

The Onisilies for donating gift certificates for all the kids to Jambo park!

Thank you for all of your hard work.  You are a blessing to this community!

Pool parties continue at the Aragaki’s tonight from 5- 6:30 and Jen Rice’s house on July 31st! Information will be given to

the students today with directions.

Church-Wide Camping TripToday is LAST day to sign up! We have a great group going!

Cost is $15 (per family) unless you have a Golden Age Passport card and then it is

$7. For more information please see Nick Stavlund or Dave Thomas at

602-525-3121 (corrected #) or [email protected].

For a number of years we have had an active email prayer chain at Chaparral.  As needed,

an email is sent out from our front desk with needs of the congregation, their families and friends.  We know the power of prayer. It is a Biblical directive and a privilege to pray for one another.  If you would like to be included, please email your request to [email protected] or [email protected].

Some considerations:  We respect the privacy of our people.  Before submiing a prayer request, please get permission from the person for whom you want prayers.  It is not necessary to give all the details.  A name and a simple explanation will do.  We may edit information as well.  Once a request is made, make a point to report the outcome of the situation to the Church office.  This will be an encouragement for the church family to recognize God's amazing hand at work.   If at any time you want your name removed from the email list, you may call the office and make that request.

We have been working to move our Church Management Software package to a new system which we hope will beer serve our congregation, increase effective

communication with the office and aid in our shepherding efforts.   One of the central features of this new system is the ability for members to access and update your personal information online as well as communicate with fellow class and group members and even access a Church directory (*Note: You have to select the Church Directory option in your privacy preferences to participate in the directory.)

To help ensure a smooth roll-out, we are starting with our leaders before moving to some of our larger classes and then the entire congregations.  This system is extremely secure and versatile! Some of you saw the check in system in action since we unveiled it for VBS. It will be a great tool for the security for our kids as well as one that will help us beer serve each other! Looking forward to serving with you!

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along.

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!
