40 Countries are represented in EFLM
After the merger of the Belgian National Societies into one National Society the “Royal Belgian Society of Laboratory Medicine”
at the end of 2014, in January 2015, the two professional societies in Romania (Romanian Society of Laboratory Medicine and Romanian
Association of Medical Laboratories) merged, forming the Romanian Association of Laboratory Medicine (RALM).
Representing 22,000 Laboratory Medicine Specialists Bielorus, Malta, Moldova are the only European Countries that still have to join EFLM
The voice of EFLM
EFLM represents IFCC in Europe
With its 40 Members, EFLM represents almost half of the total IFCC members.
EFLM should act as a collector of proposals and/or concerns from EFLM members and, if necessary, to bring these to the attention of
the international community.
The voice of EFLM
To enable better connection between Regional and International policies and improve
consistency and cohesion between National Societies, EFLM has promoted the presence of
Regional Federations in IFCC EB.
National Societies feeding into their Regional organisation to inform IFCC policy making.

Involvement of Young Lab Scientists
12 YS members are currently active in EFLM WGs (one is chairing a WG!)
A number of bursary programs to attend the
main EFLM events are available (an important part of the EFLM budget is
allocated to this)
EFLM bursaries for Paris 2015
EFLM is glad for having actively contribute to the attendance of Young Scientists at
the EuroMedLab Congress by allocating 10 bursaries covering participation costs.
Registration fees were kindly offered by the Organizing Committee.
76 applications were received from 14
EFLM Countries. After careful evaluation, 10 applicants were selected to receive the
EFLM support.
