When will there be practices? SPIRITSUMMER: TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAYS 10AM-NOON
SCHOOL YEAR:
GAMES TUES/THURS= 2:40-6:15/30
PRACTICES MON/WED= 2:40-4/4:30**IDEALLY WE WILL HAVE TWO PRACTICES A BEFORE BASKETBALL GAMES
START. ONCE GAMES BEGIN WE WILL IDEALLY HAVE ONE PRACTICE A WEEK.**

SUMMER: TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAYS 10AM-NOON
SCHOOL YEAR: MONDAYS 2:40-4
EITHER TUES/TH (NOT BOTH IN ONE WEEK)- 2:40-4 OR 4/4:30-6/6:30
WEDNESDAYS 2:40-4 OR 4/4:30-6/6:30**IDEALLY WE WILL HAVE TWO TO THREE PRACTICES A WEEK
DEPENDING ON GYM AVAILABILITY.**
What happens if I miss practice?
If you are absent from school your absence is excused.
If you attend school and miss part of practice for a religious education class and notify the coach in advance your absence is excused.
If you attend school and do not attend practice with no doctor’s note or email in regards to a religious education class you are not excused.
1st unexcused practice= documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader
2nd unexcused practice= documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent
3rd unexcused practice = documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent (meeting if needed)
4th unexcused practice= alternate position(if not already), documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent
5th unexcused practice = stays in alternate position, documented by coach and discussed with cheerleader and parent with athletic director
6th unexcused practice= released from squad

Summer Dates… Please email the coaches the dates you will be gone on family vacations during the summer.
Who cheers at the basketball games?
7th & 8th grade spirit cheerleaders do the sideline cheers during the 7th & 8th grade boys basketball games. IESA only allows 12 girls on the sideline during the game. Each game the coach will let the girls know which game they will be doing halftime.
7th & 8th grade spirit cheerleaders do the time out chants during the 7th & 8th grade boys basketball time outs.
7th and 8th grade spirit cheerleaders do the 7th grade half time routine.
Competition cheerleaders perform half time at the 8th grade boys basketball games.
When will there be competitions? • COMPETITION SQUAD ONLY• ALL GIRLS REQUIRED TO ATTEND EVERY COMPETITION• SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12 @ LWN HS• SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13 @ BOLINGBROOK HS• SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19 @ ANDREW HS• SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20 @ JOLIET WEST HS• SUNDAY, JANUARY 10 = ICCA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP• SATURDAY, JANUARY 23 = IESA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Expectations for All Cheerleaders • IESA Code of Conduct • Maintain A, B and C’s on report card• Respect yourself, the coach and your teammates• Attend all practices on time• Support your teammates• Show Sportsmanship both inside and outside of
school• Communicate with your coach in a timely manner • Show school spirit throughout the entire school year
