Send your children on fun-filled nature adventures this summer. Dodge Nature Center offers camps for children entering 1st - 8th Grade. Dodge Nature Preschool offers summer sessions for ages 3 - 6 years old. Visit DodgeNatureCenter.org/Preschool to obtain the preschool catalog.

Information You Need to Know

Registration: Registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for registration is one week before the start date for each camp. Full payment of camp fees is due upon registration. Spots are only guaranteed once registration AND your payment are received. Phone registrations are not accepted. Credit card payments can be made over the phone. Cancellations or Changes: Requests for cancellation must be made at least one month prior to start of camp to qualify for a refund. All requests for cancellations will be assessed a $50 processing fee per camp cancelled. No refunds will be issued for requests made within one month of the start of the camp. No substitutions or transfers will be permitted. Staffing: Camps are staffed by highly trained naturalists, with the assistance of interns and youth volunteers. All camps will strive to maintain a 1 to 10 ratio of staff to students entering grades 1 - 2 as well as a 1 to 12 ratio entering grades 3 - 8. Students requiring supervision beyond the nature center’s student to staff ratio may need to provide a personal aide at their own expense. Zero Tolerance Policy: There is a zero tolerance policy for physical and verbal violence. DNC has the right to dismiss a camper without a refund for violating the center’s no tolerance policy concerning physical and verbal violence. Weather Policy: Campers should come prepared to be outside. Camps will not be cancelled due to inclement weather; activities will be adjusted for the safety of the children. Check-in and Check-out: Check-in is from 8:15 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Check-out is at 3 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Campers will be checked in and out at the Dodge Main Office Entrance 1, 365 Marie Ave. W in West St. Paul, MN, unless the camp description specifies a different location. Please note that some camps now take place at Dodge’s Shepard Farm Property, 8946 70th Street South, in Cottage Grove, MN. Fee Assistance: Dodge Nature Center is committed to serving families from all economic backgrounds. Families are encouraged to inquire about scholarships in order to make camp affordable. Please call us at 651-455-4531 or visit DodgeNatureCenter.org Fees for Late Pick-Up: There is a late charge of $5 per 5 minutes after the time camp ends.

For Campers Entering Grades 1 - 2 M-Th June 17 - 20 Baa, Cluck, Moo 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. It’s morning on the farm, and there are jobs to do. Baa, cluck, moo. Can you guess what’s to see - I’ll give you a clue! Baa, cluck, moo. Play games at the farm, and feed the animals, too. Baa, cluck, moo. $220

M-Th, June 24 - 27 Forts and Fires 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Practice the building skills every outdoors-person needs. Use your resourcefulness to create shelters and structures with sticks, rocks, and leaves. Learn how to make a good cooking fire, and practice your campfire cooking making tasty food. Creativity is key as you build and cook your way through each day. $220

M-Th, July 22 - 25 Creative Camouflage 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Put your hide and seek skills to the test! Learn how animals use camouflage to hide in plain sight, and challenge yourself to do the same. Hunt to find hidden items, play classic hiding games, make camouflaged art, and more sneaky fun in this hidden gem of a camp. $220

M-Th, July 22 - 25 Skills for the Great Outdoors 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. This camp checks in and out at Dodge’s Shepard Farm Property. Can you build a shelter that will keep you warm and dry? Can you light a fire with one match or even no matches at all? Can you use a campfire to cook delicious food? One week with us and the answer will be, “Yes, I can!” $225 ($5 materials fee is included in this price

M-Th, July 8 - 11 Plant Palooza 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Enter the mysterious world of plants. Explore the woods, ponds, and prairie. Learn how plants grow and defend their kind. Smell them, taste them, wear them, use them for art. You will be amazed at all you learn as you investigate the fabulous world of plants. $220

M-Th, July 15 - 18 The Nature of Art 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Let nature help release your inner artist. Hike through the forest, prairies, and wetlands to gather materials that will inspire your creations. Leaves, clay, rocks, and even pond water will be used to make artistic masterpieces. $220

M-Th, July 29 - August 1 Nature Explorers 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Hide in the prairie, climb trees in the woods, jump over streams, and dip your toes in the pond. Become an expert chicken picker-upper, catch a frog, and eat berries. No wild places will be left unexplored in this week of outdoor fun. $220

M-Th, August 5 - 8 Quest for the Golden Egg 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. The Golden Egg is missing! Help unravel the mystery of its disappearance. During this week, you will solve puzzles, use detective tools, explore Dodge in search of clues, and record what you investigate in very own detective notebook. $222 ($2 materials fee is included in this price)

For Campers Entering Grades 3 - 5 M-Th June 17 - 20 Fish and Swim 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Bring your fishing rod, your swimming suit, and sunscreen for a week of adventure on local waters. Travel to nearby fishing spots and try to catch “the big one.” Weather permitting, spend the afternoon playing at swimming beaches and inventing stories about “the one that got away.” $260 ($40 transportation fee is included in this price)

M-Th, June 24 - 27 Champions of Dodge 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Dodge does decree that these prairies, woods, and wetlands shall be a mystical land where campers join a noble order, design their banner, and compete in challenges throughout the week. Craft foam swords, play games, construct cardboard armor, and solve riddles to see who will rule the kingdom. $225 ($5 materials fee is included in this price)

M-Th, July 15 - 18 Eyes on the Sky 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. 3, 2, 1...Blast off! Launch into space to explore the solar system and beyond. You will practice skills needed by future astronauts, learn about your neighbors in space, and explore what it will take to live on Mars. Suit up, and end the week celebrating the anniversary of the first moon landing. $223 ($3 materials fee is included in this price)

M-Th, July 29 - August 1 Down on the Farm 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. The farm is busy with lots of work, but there is always time for some fun. Meet the animals, and help with feeding. Fetch a pail of water (or two) from the well. Collect eggs in the chicken coop, and don’t forget to jump in the hay. $220

M-Th, August 5 - 8 Nature’s Innovations 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Mother Nature is the greatest inventor of all! Discover how birds helped people reach for the skies, and get an up-close look at bees busy making honey. M-Th, July 22 - 25 Dodge Detectives 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Grab your notebook and magnifying glass; there's a mystery to solve! Animals around Dodge have gone missing, and they need your help. Follow clues, and figure out puzzles to discover what is going on. $222 ($2 materials fee is included in this price)

M-Th July 8 - 11 Arrows Aloft 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Arrows flying through the air, with your steady hand, targets beware! Learn from certified instructors the basics of archery, how to shoot a compound bow, and how to shoot safely on the range. Design and build your own PVC bow and foam arrows to take home. Equipment provided. $225 ($5 materials fee is included in this price)

M-Th, June 24 - 27 Animals: Behind the Scenes 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Become an expert animal handler by learning the ins and outs of animal care at Dodge. You will help care for animals by cleaning habitats and preparing a menu of food to feed them. Learn what an animal is telling you by its body language, and enrich their lives by making creative animal-safe toys. Venture behind the scenes to meet the nature center’s wildlife ambassadors in a whole new way! $220

Th-F July 18 - 19 Shepard Farm Overnight 4 p.m. - 9 a.m. This camp checks in and out at Dodge’s Shepard Farm Property. 8946 70th Street South, Cottage Grove, MN 55016 Spend the night at the nature center’s private property in Cottage Grove. Bring your sleeping bag and sense of adventure to this special destination. You will cook over a fire, play games, and tell stories by the campfire. $55
