our summer camps are unique!

our camp’s special cultureBeing Delaware Nature Society, we always like to do the right thing when it comes to protecting and preserving our environment. So every camper will be recycling big-time. Campers also will compost food scraps and learn about the cool things that happen in a compost bin! We ask that your camper’s lunch contains as little non-recyclable waste as possible.

The solar panels at Ashland, Abbott’s and Coverdale provide most of the electricity campers use at those sites and our energy-saving geothermal cooling system will be most refreshing when campers come inside Ashland Nature Center. By sending your children to Delaware Nature Society camps, you are investing in a low-energy consumption, low-waste producing, high nature learning culture!!

Weekly friday finale for families! Each Friday, join our staff for a nature party program during camper pick-up! Enjoy live animal shows, dip-netting in the pond, free ice-cream and games. At Coverdale you can even milk cows, collect eggs and bottle feed calves. Ashland Nature Center and Coverdale Farm Preserve will be hosting these Friday events!
