From Anton to You –
As you are all very well aware, I am indeed German. So, I’m sure it comes as no surprise when I tell you, I have thoroughly enjoyed the last few months of mild temperatures and rainy weather here in the Midwest. I guess one could say that Summer 2014 has been my kind of summer!
I also want to personally thank everyone for keeping Peddinghaus on track throughout the vacation season. We did not miss one delivery, all of our spare parts orders were filled on time, and our service department kept up with installations and service calls. It is fantastic to know that Peddinghaus employees can enjoy their hard earned vacation time and still get the job done.
PeddiCafe – the hottest thing in Bradley this summer!
From Kirk Kempen’s Retirement Party to Customer Dinners, the PeddiCafé has been the hot spot for many corporate events. Our Café is the perfect spot to entertain and celebrate. We are even working on plans for the most memorable PCB Christmas Party to date.
Most importantly, it warms my heart to see employees and their families enjoying lunch together. It is your support that has helped to make our PeddiCafé such a great success.
Foreign Relations - Tensions Boiling -
Flipping on the news today, it is hard to ignore the hostility occurring overseas. Does it make you wonder how the standoff in Russia or the threats from the Middle East are going to affect Peddinghaus? I am here to tell you, the opportunity for international sales is still present. Between Roland Jones and Ian Walker, we have some of the best international sales managers out there. If there is a deal to be made, they will close it.
Peddi-Econ – Simmering?
You may have noticed our backlog thinned a little this summer. No worries! It is very typical for our sales to idle some during this time of year. With the September and October orders pouring in, Peddinghaus is already gearing up for another busy Fall/Winter season.
The Rumor Mills are sizzling with Feel Good Facts!
Whether you helped move machinery, heard the jackhammers, or saw the 42 cement trucks making laps around the machine shop building, you may be wondering if the rumors are true. No, we did not put in a swimming pool - We did even better!
Peddinghaus has made a very big investment into our future. We have purchased our largest Mazak machine yet. It is a system so advanced; there are only a handful of them installed in all of North America.
As you know, our goal is always to be #1. This new addition to our Machine Shop will only further improve the versatility of our business and the quality of our product.
Bonjour Bonfire Weather
I hope you are enjoying fall and the start of a new school year.
As seasons change and business picks up, I want to remind you that the Quality of Peddinghaus truly comes from within. When our customers purchase from Peddinghaus, it is not because of Anton or our Regional Sales Managers. Our customers are impressed by the entire Peddinghaus team and everything that what we stand for.

St. Anne Indians by Shane Lamie
Shane Lamie helped coach the St. Anne 7-8 year old boys to a second place finish in the
local youth group program. The boys finished the regular season with a 12-1 record and made
their way to the championship series, where they played against the defending champions. The series was played best two out of three
games. The St. Anne boys won the first game, but lost the final two - each game was only
decided by ONE run!!! This is definitely something the boys and coaches will never
forget!

Jesse Rodriguez's submission to the National Amateur Poetry Competition in NYNY! Good luck Jesse!
Peddinghaus by Jesse Rodriguez
Peddinghaus is a Steel Fabrication company, that was founded in the land of Germany.
The employees are diligently working day, and night, deploying all their strength, and might.
Fabricating steel, and building machines, that are equipped with the latest computer screens.
Peddinghaus has surpassed all the Steel competition. Of course this is our present condition.
The engineers are busy inventing the latest technology. Embarrassing the competition is not an apology.
The service department is answering customer requests, while the sales department is busy, handling the guests.
Peddinghaus machines can be seen throughout the land, even across seas where the soil is made of sand.
Buildings and bridges, and new construction are seen. Because our world is expanding, if you know what I mean.
Peddinghaus can also be seen and heard as far away as Spain. A faraway land that celebrates with Champagne.
And in South Africa the people are watching the trucks roll in, to the Peddinghaus South African warehouse with a grin.
We are the global leader in the Steel Industry, and have been throughout history.
We have 24 hour tech support available, to keep our customers operational.
Peddinghaus has added a new dinning café. A place for customers, and employees to relax, and get away.
Yes Peddinghaus is sitting on top of a hill, because with our leaders, we can never be driven downhill.
Peddinghaus is busy building, and shaping our global skyline Soon our work will be done, so we can start fabricating our beautiful coastline.
This is the story of Peddinghaus. The Steel factory in Bradley with the biggest warehouse.
Rodney Whittington became engaged to April Mauritzen on June 26, 2014!
Congratulations to Rodney & April!

I Never Knew!
Featuring PCSC Production Control!
by Amary Tisdale
Amary Tisdale, Jessica Jennings, Bob Meltzer, Alesia Gibson, Gregg Jenkins & Jeff Tisdale!
PCSC's Production Control currently includes 6 people, Bob Meltzer, Amary
Tisdale, Jessica Jennings, Gregg Jenkins, Jeff Tisdale, and Alesia Gibson. When
PCSC first opened in January 1997 there was only one person in Production Control, that would be yours truly, Amary Tisdale. As
that year went on we had someone, Bob Meltzer, from PC Bradley traveling back and
forth every 3 weeks until he became full time at PCSC in January 1998. When Bob accepted this responsibility he became the
2nd person hired in Production Control.
In 2000 Bob decided we needed additional help to head up our newly formed safety
program (1st Responders), ISO, and handle our Facility Management issues in the shop.
With over 20 years of manufacturing experience Gregg Jenkins was the perfect person for this job and he became the 3rd person hired in Production Control. There
were a few people between 2000 and 2011 to come and go in production control as a result of the up and down economy over
those years.
With Bob's additional duties and PCSC growing quickly back then, in April of 2001 he promoted the stockroom supervisor at
that time, Jeff Tisdale, to Production Coordinator. When Jeff accepted this
responsibility he became the 4th person in Production Control at PCSC.
In 2011 with the additional workload in the front office and Production, Jessica
Jennings was hired to assist Amary. She became our 5th person hired in Production
Control at PCSC
Hats off to our wonderful customers for keeping us so busy in 2013. Jeff Tisdale's daily duties became over whelming and he
was in need of a Production Assistant. Thanks to our Purchasing Dept. looking for
someone to hire around that same time, Jeff found the perfect person to help him out.
With 5 plus years of manufacturing/purchasing experience
Alesia Gibson was the one for the job and the 6th person hired in Production Control.
With the expertise of the 6 people above, nothing is impossible!!

Kirk Kempen retires after 39 years with Peddinghaus!
In 1975, gasoline was 44 cents per gallon, Jimmy Hoffa disappeared, Saturday Night
Live debuted, Jaws was in the theaters, Bill Gates created the company Microsoft, but
most importantly...Kirk Kempen began working at Manco Manufacturing!
Kirk has been a solid staple of this company and has been a key employee in the
development of new products from the beginning. During his tenure he has been involved in the development of every CNC
machine we’ve built in our history – from the old beam punchlines and TDK drills to the
PeddiWriter and beveling plate machine. He is known throughout the industry as the developer of Peddimat software and has travelled the world supporting or products
and representing Peddinghaus. His uncanny troubleshooting skills and dry
humor will be greatly missed.
A retirement dinner party was held in the Peddi Cafe on Tuesday, August 19th, where
Kirk was honored by management and fellow employees who will miss him dearly.
We wish Kirk & Kim the best of luck in their sunny new Arizona home!

Running with your daughter by Cheryl Werner
As our children become teenagers, there is less and less they want to do with their parents.
Fortunately, I found running with my daughter Lauren a great bonding experience. Our times are not the greatest, but we run for the fun of it. Sometimes the fun involves bacon, sometimes it
involves mud & crazy obstacles, or a tasty beverage at the end of the race. We don't always get a t-shirt or a medal, but we will
always have the lasting memories between a mother and a daughter.

Amary Tisdale, PCSC
Amary Tisdale has been a "fixture" at PCSC from the beginning! Prior to starting at PCSC in January 1997, she had been working for an independent insurance company with no benefits. Our benefit
package drew her in, along with the opportunity to learn and advance.
When she's not at work, Amary loves spending her time with her husband, Chuck,
her high school sweetheart hubby of 20 years, and her 2 boys, Austin &
Carson....never a dull moment with her boys! She enjoys watching football and
fishing with all of her boys. The family has an Olde English Bulldog named Dottie & a
dwarf hamster named Cornchip! Movies? A Walk to Remember, Pretty Woman. Food? Fried Pork Chops! Book? The Fifty Shades
of Grey Trilogy.
My grandmother would remind us daily, "Manners will take you were money won't."
It has always stuck with me.
Amary is the "heart" of PCSC. We are grateful she has been with us for 17 years and she is looking forward to the next 17!

Eric Carroll, PC Stockroom
Meet Eric Carroll of the PC Stockroom! Eric started at Peddinghaus in 2011. He had

our S & R team!
During his off hours, Eric skateboard's, does his best to support the local art & music
communities, along with creating costumes & Halloween props. He plays drums and bass guitar and can also do a little break
dancing, although he says not when asked. (Let's remember this for the Christmas party)
Congratulations to Eric on his recent engagement to his girlfriend of 5 years, April
LaReau! He doesn't currently own any pets, however he's begging for an English
Bulldog! I'm sensing a theme here! Movie? Braveheart. Food? Cheeseburgers. Books?

Focus on Safety
by Brian Corbett
Unintentional pedestrian injuries are the fifth leading cause of injury-related death in the
United States for children ages 5 to 19. Teenagers are now at greatest risk. Teens have a death rate twice that of younger children and account for half of all child pedestrian deaths.
• Put your phones down when driving. • Reduce speeds in school zones and
areas near schools. • Follow the rules around school buses.
• Look out for kids on bikes and skateboards.

RAGBRAI by Duane Bates
Anyone want to go for a bike ride? That's precisely what I did from July 20-26. I rode 485 miles as part of
RAGBRAI, the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. This was the 42nd year for RAGBRAI
and it is the oldest and longest bike ride anywhere in the world. Along with about 10,000 other cyclists, I
pedaled my way across northern Iowa. The beginning of the week was hot and humid with heat indexes up to 102 but the rest of the week was cooler with some
rain and wind.
This was my first time on RAGBRAI and I found it to be quite fun. On the 22nd, I did my first century-ride, doing 110 miles in one day. Thankfully, the wind was
with me that day.
People sometimes ask, "How can you ride that far?" The answer, get on your bike and just start pedaling. Don't think about the distance, just enjoy the ride and
the scenery around you.
