WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

• UNESCO-IHE is the largest international graduate water

education and research facility in the world.

• Since 1957, the Institute has provided post-graduate education to

more than 15,000 water professionals from 162 countries, the vast

majority from the developing world.

• The Institute confers fully accredited MSc degrees and awards

PhDs (in close cooperation with our Dutch university partner

institutions).

• The Institute carries out numerous research and capacity

development projects throughout the world.

Two Regional Delta Planning Workshops

• Dutch government supports the sustainable

development of various international deltas (including

Vietnam, Bangladesh, Myanmar).

• Delta issues are complex and require integrated and

innovative solutions, tailored to local situations.

• Delta planning will be strengthened by exchange of

approaches and solutions, and enhancing capacities to

review and apply them.

• This also strengthens the position of the Dutch water

sector.
