Then make a poster about the 3 types of rainfall. Copy the following diagrams and add labels to explain what is happening. Your
poster can be done on a computer or hand drawn.
Clouds and wind combine to form some of the earth’s most extreme weather – Tropical storms.
Tropical storms have different names depending on where they are formed.
Hurricanes – Atlantic Ocean
Cyclones – India Ocean
Typhoons – Pacific Ocean
Tropical storms develop where the sea temperature is higher than 27⁰C.
As you know form your rainfall poster warm, warm moist air rises and
condensation occurs.
The rising air creates low pressure which causes surface winds.
The earth’s rotation causes the winds to spin and the storm gets stronger.
Task 2: Follow the instructions to create a pop up tropical storm to show the
features of a tropical storm.

Draw a shape similar to the one above.

Add in clouds and arrows. Colour rising air red.

Colour the sea and falling air blue.

Lightly shade the clouds.
