STUDENT USER GUIDE

1.0 INITIAL SET UP

STEP 1: CONNECT YOUR DEVICE TO YOUR SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY WIRELESS NETWORK

Connect your device to the Wi-Fi network provided by your Teacher or IT Department.

STEP 2: DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT VIVI APPLICATION BASED ON YOUR SPECIFIC DEVICE

Once installed, run the Vivi application and you will be presented with the following screen (see Ref 1A - Get Started).

Click on the Get Started button to commence (see Ref 1A - Get Started).

STEP 3: START USING VIVI

After clicking Get Started, you’ll be presented with the option to Log In or Sign Up (see Ref 2A - Account).

If it’s your first time using Vivi, you’ll need to enter your details and select the Sign Up button.

Sign Up details:

• Full Name

• Email (Please use the user school email suffix [email protected]).

• Password

STEP 4: SELECT A ROOM

Select a room (and the appropriate Vivi box) that you would like to connect to (see Ref 3A - Rooms).

You must have your device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the learning space for wireless presentation.

STEP 5: LOGGING OUT

If you need to log out of Vivi, you can select your name at the top right of any screen and the click Logout button (see Ref 3B - Logout).

2.0 VIVI GLOSSARY

Throughout this User Guide, the following terms will be used. They’re explained below.

• ANNOTATE: A feature that allows a user to draw or write text with their finger or a cursor directly onto a captured screenshot.

• CAPTURE SCREENSHOT: To instantly take a visual copy of exactly what is being displayed on the main display at any time as a still image and save it to your device.

• MAIN DISPLAY: Smart board, projector or LCD screen

• MIRRORING: Mirroring (or, to mirror) is the ability to copy a live version of exactly what’s being displayed on a specific device, to another device. Vivi allows a teacher or student to mirror their own content to the main display in a room.

• URL: A link to a website, image or video

3.0 USING VIVI’S FEATURES

The main menu screen will give you a few different options (see Ref 4A - Student Main Menu ).

• 3.1 SHARED LINK: Open the link that’s been shared by your teacher in your device’s internet browser (Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox)

• 3.2 CAPTURE SCREENSHOT: Capture a screenshot of the main display, on which you can annotate and save to your device.

3.1 OPEN A SHARED LINK

A link that’s been shared by your teacher to the room will be displayed in the Main Menu as ‘Shared Link’ (see Ref 5A - Student Main Menu).

• Tap the shared link and it will automatically open in your device’s default browser.

• To return to the Vivi app, reopen the Vivi client.

3.2 CAPTURE SCREENSHOT

To capture a screenshot of the displayed content, select the Capture Screenshot button (see page 7, Ref 5A).

• You will then be able to annotate by selecting the annotate icon.

• To change colour, tap on the colour button (see Ref 6A - Annotate Screenshot) to change colours.

• To erase any annotation, tap the erase button.

• To save the screenshot to your device for later review, tap the save button.

• To exit a screenshot view, select the close icon (X) which is located at the top left or right corner of the screenshot window; depending on your device.

You can capture screenshots of whatever is being mirrored to the main display - whether it’s content from your teacher or fellow students. You can make your own notes on top of it using the Annotation feature and save for later review.

If the editing icons disappear when a screenshot is shown, simply tap anywhere on the screen for them to reappear
