We see Christian learning as a gift to be shared and used for the good of all people.

Columba Catholic College shares in the mission of Christ's Church to further the coming of God's reign of Justice, Peace, Compassion and Redemption. Columba Catholic College shares the vision of an educational community, which:

is based on the teaching and example of Jesus Christ, as found in the Gospels and handed on in this community by the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan and the Christian Brothers;

supports families and works in co-operation with parents in the total development of their children;

exists primarily to provide for the needs of the students, recognizing the value and uniqueness of each person;

offers quality education from Prep to Year 12, including Residential Care, using the resources of both campuses and of the wider community;

fosters an atmosphere that is welcoming, safe and supportive, with relationships at all levels based on self-respect and respect for others;

nurtures the faith of all members through prayer, learning and service to others; and

MISSION AND

PURPOSE

We will:

Revitalise our Mission statement to enhance our identity as a Catholic day and boarding school.

Review and address our environmental footprint and care for our campuses.

Engage in outreach programs that promote and engage our community in Catholic Social Justice teachings.

Monitor and be responsive to changes in education, Church and government policies and demographic trends.

CLIMATE CONDUCIVE TO LEARNING

We will:

Implement a whole of school Pastoral Care Program and Positive Behaviour Support Program.

Use data to monitor, track and progress student learning outcomes and enhance teacher pedagogical practices.

Develop our mentoring programs for early career teachers.

Progress the professional learning of all staff through targeted initiatives.

Renew our facilities in alignment with contemporary learning and residential approaches and resourcing capacities.

Communicate purposely with parents to enable student growth.

We will:

Develop our STEM and Design Thinking initiatives across the College.

Improve learning outcomes and pathways for our Indigenous students.

Align student learning data and pastoral data to inform responses to student needs and inform pathway choices.

Apply the Columba Pedagogical Framework across both campuses.

Develop teacher leadership and capabilities through their leadership of peer professional learning.

SUCCESSFUL CATHOLIC BOARDING SCHOOL

We will:

Continue to monitor the academic program and study structure for each year level.

Determine the impact and effectiveness of our Residential Curriculum.

Enhance communication strategies and resourcing between parents/families and residential house parents.

Monitor Boarding staffing roles and duties.

Continue to explore opportunities to advance Boarding school enrolments.

Consistently update our facilities to reflect contemporary approaches.
