Confessions Confessions will still be available every Saturday from
4:00pm to 6:00pm observing social distancing and
requiring a mask.
Marriages & Baptisms The Public Celebration of the Sacraments (Baptisms and
Marriages) have been postponed. Parishioners can contact
the Rectory and speak with a priest concerning emergency
situations.
Communion to the Sick & Funerals
Funerals will still be celebrated, however attendance will
be limited to 10 people or fewer. While visits to the sick
will be limited, priests will still be available for emergency
sick calls and anointing.

Due to concern over the spread of the Coronavirus,
all Baptisms, and Marriages in our Diocese and
neighboring Diocese have been postponed until
further notice. During this time, we will be
transmitting live via our Parish Website daily mass.
The Church will be open for private prayer every
day from 2-6pm. Confessions will take place
Saturday’s from 4-6pm. Please wear a mask and be
aware of the guidelines the ushers issue upon
entering regarding social distancing.
Debido a la preocupación por la propagación del
coronavirus, todos los bautizos y bodas en nuestra
diócesis y las diócesis vecinas, se han cancelado
hasta nuevo aviso. Durante este tiempo , estaremos

The priests of the parish will offer private Mass
each day for the intentions that have been and will
be requested. We will be praying for all of our
parishioners at each Mass.

Beca, “Luces de Inspiración”
Gracias a la generosidad de los feligreses, dueños de negocios y otros
contribuyentes, se llevó a cabo una muy exitosa recaudación de fondos de
“Luces de Inspiración” esta Navidad. Hoy, podemos ofrecer 4 becas por un monto
de $2,500.00 cada una, para ayudar a los jóvenes de la Iglesia de San Miguel a
alcanzar sus sueños. Las becas “Luces de Inspiración” están disponibles para todos
los jóvenes de la Iglesia de San Miguel, que actualmente están inscritos o ingresarán
a la universidad en el otoño de 2020.

"Lights of Inspiration Scholarship"
Due to the generosity of parishioners, business owners and other contributors, a
very successful “Lights of Inspiration” scholarship fundraiser was held this
Christmas. Today, we are able to offer (4) scholarships in the amount of $2,500.00
each, to help the youth of St. Michael’s Church reach their dreams. The Lights of
Inspiration scholarships are available to all young people of St. Michael's Church
who are currently enrolled in or will be entering college in the fall of 2020.

School they currently attend (or plan to attend).
In a 1000 to 1500 word essay, thoroughly answer one of the questions below.
It will be evaluated on content but good grammar should not be ignored.
1. People face challenges every day. Some make decisions that force them beyond their
comfort levels. Maybe you have a political, social, cultural or religious viewpoint that
is not shared by the rest of your school, family or community. Find your voice to
stand up for something you passionately support, write what that is and why you feel
so passionate about it? Why should others join you in your way of thinking about this
viewpoint?
2. Describe how you have demonstrated leadership ability both in and out of school.
Discuss a special attribute or accomplishment that sets you apart.
3. If you had the opportunity to bring any person—past or present, fictional or
nonfictional— to a place that is special to you (your hometown or country, a favorite
location, etc.), who would you bring and why? Tell us what you would share with
that person.

Nuevamente estamos felices de poder ofrecer 3 becas por la cantidad de $2,000 cada una,
a cualquier joven feligrés que esté listo para ingresar a la Universidad en Septiembre
2020, o que se encuentre actualmente estudiando en la Universidad. Estas Becas, en
honor y memoria de la Hermana Peggy Ford, el Capitán Dennis Morales, NYPD, y
Capitán de Marina Thomas Phelan, FDNY se ofrecen para ayudar a los jóvenes que se

Marine Pilot Thomas Phelan, FDNY Memorial Scholarships
We are happy once again, to be able to offer 3 Scholarships (in the amount of
$2,000 each) to any parishioner who will be entering college in September 2020
or who is currently studying in college. These Scholarships, in honor and
memory of Sr. Peggy Ford, Capt. Dennis Morales, NYPD, and Marine Pilot
Thomas Phelan, FDNY are given to help young parishioners who are striving to
follow the examples of Sr. Peggy and Captain Morales, by “giving back” to the
Community in service, especially by continuing their education to be better
equipped and prepared to serve in a particular career or vocation.

The reception of Communion will be different.
It is strongly recommended the faithful receive
Holy Communion in the hand and they must
leave their mask on when they approach the
priest at a six-foot distance. When the
communicant receives the Sacred Host, they
should move to the side and consume the
Eucharist immediately. Communion will only be
offered in one form; the Precious Blood will not
be distributed to the faithful at this time.
The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass remains in effect until further notice.
As such, the Diocese urges anyone who feels sick in any way to stay home. Mass will
continue to be broadcast live on the Diocesan cable channel.
La recepción de la comunión será diferente.
Se recomienda, encarecidamente, que los fieles
reciban la Sagrada Comunión en la mano y que
dejen su máscara puesta cuando se acerquen al
sacerdote a una distancia de seis pies. Cuando el
comulgante recibe la Sagrada Hostia, debe
moverse hacia un lado y consumir la Eucaristía
de inmediato. La comunión solo se ofrecerá de
una forma; La Preciosa Sangre no será
distribuida a los fieles en este momento.
