Marriages & Baptisms The Public Celebration of the Sacraments (Baptisms and

Marriages) have been postponed. Parishioners can contact

the Rectory and speak with a priest concerning emergency

situations.

Communion to the Sick & Funerals

Funerals will still be celebrated, however attendance will

be limited to 10 people or fewer. While visits to the sick

will be limited, priests will still be available for emergency

sick calls and anointing.

Due to concern over the spread of the Coronavirus, all Public

Masses in our Diocese and neighboring Diocese have been

canceled until further notice. For as long as possible, the

Church will remain open for private prayer everyday from

Monday to Friday 7:00am - 10:00am and 5:00pm - 8:00pm.

We are working on the schedule for Saturday and Sunday

and we will announce it during the coming week. We will

have more information in the coming weeks concerning

being able to watch the Mass on TV and on-line and other

"creative ways", especially through technology that we can

be together in prayer and mutual support. ————————————————————————————

Debido a la preocupación por la propagación del coronavirus,

todas las misas públicas, en nuestra diócesis y las diócesis

vecinas, se han cancelado hasta nuevo aviso. Durante el

mayor tiempo posible, la Iglesia permanecerá abierta para la

oración privada todos los días de lunes a viernes de 7:00 a.m.

a 10:00 a.m. y de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. Estamos trabajando

The Feast of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary and Patron of the Universal Church

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

"If God is for us, who can be against us ... nothing can separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus,

our Lord" (Rm. 8: 31,39). St. Paul wrote these inspired words to the early Christian community in

Rome, to encourage them to have faith and persevere in difficult times. Very quickly, we have

encountered difficult and challenging times. As you know, one of the many steps that have been taken

to lessen the spread of the COVID 19 "Coronavirus" is the prohibition of all large gatherings, which

means all public (weekday and Sunday) Masses have been canceled in our Diocese and many other

Dioceses until further notice.

As I write this message, Churches are allowed to remain open so that people can come for private

prayer. As long as it remains permissible, we will keep our Church open from 7:00 - 10:00 am

and 5:00 - 8:00pm each day, although we may have to limit the number of people who can enter at one

time. It is possible that this may be the last (printed) Bulletin for sometime or, if we can continue

printing the Bulletin, we may continue to print it and use it as a way of keeping in contact with

parishioners, especially those who may not have Internet access.

We are looking at "Creative" ways to stay united in prayer through electronic and other technological

means and methods of communication. To begin, we can stay "connected" in prayer through our parish

website www.stmichaelssunsetpark.com. Working with Msgr. Healy (Padre Tomas) and Fr. Jeudy, we

may prepare a daily reflection (homily) on the daily Mass readings, which we can post on the website or

email to those who request it. I have included the "Litany of our Blessed Mother" in this week's Bulletin,

as it can be a part of our Daily and Family prayer, as we ask our Blessed Mother's intercession in these

challenging and difficult times.

Many parishioners have requested Mass intentions for our weekday and Sunday Masses, please know

that Msgr. Healy, Fr. Jeudy and I will be offering Masses in private and we will offer the Mass for the

intention requested on the day it has been requested. As far as Baptisms and other Sacramental

Celebrations, we will keep you up to date as soon as we have more information. This past Monday night,

we received a message from our Bishop that "there will be NO Masses celebrated on Palm Sunday

(although we hope to have Blessed Palms available for parishioners) and Holy Week and Easter Services

and Masses will not be celebrated publicly in the parishes of our Diocese. Although we will not be able

to be together in Church for Holy Week and Easter, we will remain together in prayer, as we remember

that one of the central themes of the Paschal (Easter) Mystery is that GOD can bring GOOD out of the

worst and saddest situations, that we have to share in the Mystery of the Lord's Cross at Calvary in order

to know the JOY of the Resurrection at Easter. Holy Week and Easter will be very different in this year

of 2020, but, no matter what, our Risen Lord is with us and will give us His Peace.

La fiesta de San José, esposo de María y patrón de la Iglesia Universal

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo:

"Si Dios está con nosotros, quién estará contra nosotros ...Quién puede separarnos del Amor de Dios en Cristo

Jesús, nuestro Señor" ( Rm 8: 31,39). San Pablo escribe estas palabras a la comunidad cristiana primitiva en

Roma, para alentarlos a tener fe y perseverar en tiempos difíciles. Muy rápidamente, nos hemos encontrado

con tiempos difíciles y desafiantes. Como saben, uno de los muchos pasos que se han tomado para disminuir la

propagación del Coronavirus de COVID 19 es la prohibición de todas las grandes reuniones, lo que significa

que todas las Misas públicas (entre semana y domingo) se han cancelado en nuestra Diócesis y en muchas

otras Diócesis, hasta nuevo aviso.

Hasta el momento de escribir este mensaje, las iglesias pueden permanecer abiertas para que las personas

puedan ir a orar en privado. Mientras siga siendo permisible, nosotros también mantendremos nuestra Iglesia

abierta de 7:00 a.m. a 8:00 p.m. todos los días, aunque existe la posibilidad de que tengamos que limitar el

número de personas que pueden ingresar a la vez. Es posible que éste sea el último Boletín impreso por algún

tiempo, pero, si podemos continuar imprimiendo el Boletín, lo usaremos como una forma de mantener el

las peores y más tristes situaciones, que tenemos que compartir en el Misterio de la Cruz del Señor en el

Calvario para conocer la ALEGRÍA de la Resurrección en Pascua.

La Semana Santa y la Pascua seran muy diferentes en este año de 2020, pero, nuestro Señor Resucitado estára

con nosotros y nos dará Su Paz.
