6. Distribution of Seats between Students of Gujarat Board and Other

Boards :

For the purpose of admission, the available seats shall be distributed between students of the Gujarat Board & other Boards on pro-rata basis, taking into consideration the number of students passed from the Gujarat Board & other Boards in the relative academic year.

7. Eligibility for admission

(1) For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have passed the qualifying examination from,

(I) The Gujarat Board; or

(II) Other Boards such as the CBSE Board, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, the

National Institute of Open Schooling and the International School Board on pro-rata basis, in the

relative academic year. provided that, -

(i) The study centre/the school in which the candidate has studied, should be located in the

State of Gujarat; or

(ii) The school, in which the candidate has studied, should be located in the Union Territories

of Diu, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli and whose parents are origin of Gujarat;

(III) The students who are domicile of Nizar Taluka (Gujarat State) but have passed HSC examination

from Maharashtra Board are considered eligible for admission subject to fulfillment of

minimum requirements. The students have to bring the detailed mark sheet showing the

separate marks of theory & practical. However, they must have appeared for GUJCET of the

current year.

(2) A candidate whose parents are origin of Gujarat and are residing out of Gujarat and who has passed the

qualifying examination from the State where parents are residing and appeared in the Gujarat Common

Entrance Test conducted in the current academic year, shall be eligible for admission and his candidature

shall be included in the merit list accordingly.

(3) A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination as mentioned in (1) above and

(I) has appeared in the Gujarat Common Entrance Test conducted in the current academic year; and

(II) whose parents are serving in the category of service as shown below; and

(III) who are transferred from other States to Gujarat and have resumed their duty in the place where

they are transferred in Gujarat and shall remain so transferred in the State of Gujarat at the time

of registration for admission shall be eligible for admission and his candidature shall be

included in the merit list.

Category of Service :

(a) Officers or Employees of Central Government; or

(b) Officers or Employees of Public Sector Undertakings of Central Government and State Government; or

(c) Officers or Employees of nationalized banks; or

(d) Officers or Employees of United Nations, UNICEF, World Health Organization and such other

International Institutions located in Gujarat State; or

(e) Officers or Employees of Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Forest Service of

Gujarat Cadre working in Gujarat or working in other States on deputation from Gujarat; or

(f) Officers or Employees of Gujarat Government posted outside Gujarat State for administrative reasons

(4) A candidate who has passed HSC Examination with minimum marks as shown in Table-1 and has

appeared in the GUCET conducted in the current academic year shall be eligible for admission to respective graduate programme.

(5) A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination after appearing in the supplementary examination conducted by the Board shall not be eligible for admission in the current academic year

8. Age : The candidate born on or after Dt: 1-1-1996 will not be considered for admission.

9. CORRECTION OF MARKS :

(i) In case of change in marks of a student in the qualifying examination, such student shall produce letter to that effect or the corrected mark sheet issued by the board, before the Admission Committee at least one day before commencement of First or Second round of admission as the case may be but not later than seven days from the receipt of letter, or corrected mark sheet. In such case, he/she shall be placed at an appropriate order in the concerned merit list.

(ii) The student who was declared failed initially in the qualifying examination, but later on declared passed after rechecking of marks by the board, such student shall, notwithstanding any time prescribed be allowed to apply for the admission provided he produces a letter to that effect or corrected marks sheet issued by the Board, within seven days of the receipt of letter.

10. WEIGHTAGE OF MARKS FOR PREPARING MERIT LIST Following weightage of marks, over and above marks obtained at qualifying examination / GUJCET Examination of current year wherever applicable shall be given while preparing the merit list.

5 To the students of Higher Secondary Vocational Stream in Home Science or Agriculture for admission to B.Sc. (Home Science & Nutrition).

Weightage to the Sportsmen / Women in admission to all graduate courses except B.V.Sc. & A.H. will be

given as under:

11. Reservation of Seats :

Reservation For SC/ST/SEBC Candidates :

(1) For the purpose of admission, the seats shall be reserved for the candidate who are origin of Gujarat and falling under the following categories, namely:-

(a) Scheduled Caste : 7 % (b) Scheduled Tribe : 15 % (c) Socially and Educationally Backward Class : 27 % (Non-creamy layer)

(2) A candidate seeking admission on reserved seat shall be required to produce a Certificate of caste from which he originates: Provided that the candidate belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Class shall be required to produce a certificate issued after 01/04/2012 to the effect of non-inclusion in Creamy Layer in addition to the caste certificate.

(3) No caste certificate shall be valid unless it is duly stamped, signed and issued by the authority empowered by the Government of Gujarat.

(4) No certificate to the effect of non-inclusion in Creamy Layer shall be valid, unless it is duly stamped, signed and issued by the authority empowered by the Government of Gujarat. Such certificate shall have been issued on or after the 1st April of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

(5) If a candidate fails to submit the Caste certificate for claiming caste base reservation at the time of verification at the College, he will not be admitted and his candidature shall be cancelled for admission.

(6) If a candidate of reserved category gets admission on unreserved seat in order of merits, he may be given admission on the unreserved seat according to his preference.

(7) SC and ST seats are inter-changeable. After granting admission to all the students of reserved categories on reserved seats, the reserved category seats remaining vacant shall be transferred to the unreserved category seats.

Reservation For Physically Disabled Candidates:

Three percent of the regular+NRI/Payment seats shall be reserved, in accordance with the provisions of the Persons With Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 (1 of 1996), for the person with disability who can perform the academic activities in the respective course. A candidate with disability shall have to submit certificate of disability issued and duly signed by the Civil Surgeon.

Explanation : (1) “person with disability” means a person suffering from not less than forty per cent of any disability as certified by a competent medical authority.

(2) The admission granted to the Physically Disabled Candidates will be adjusted against respective category (SC/ST/SEBC/GENERAL).

Reservation for the Children of Defense personals and Ex-Servicemen :

(1) One percent of available seats shall be reserved for the children of Defence personals and Ex-Servicemen, for admission.

(2) A candidate claiming admission against Ex-Servicemen category shall be required to submit a certificate to that effect duly issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board Gujarat State or by the District Sainik Welfare Officer. In-Service Defence Personnel shall be required to submit certificate to that effect duly issued by the Commanding Officer of the respective unit in which they are serving.

(3) The seats remaining vacant against the category of Defence Personals and Ex-Servicemen in case of candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, shall be allotted to the children of Defence personals and Ex-Servicemen of the Central Board. The seats remaining vacant thereafter shall be filled up from the merit list of unreserved category candidates of the Gujarat Board.

(4) The children of Defence Personals and Ex-Servicemen of Gujarat origin shall be included under the reserved category, if they have passed the qualifying examination from the schools located outside the Gujarat State and have appeared in the Gujarat Common Entrance Test conducted in the current academic year.

Reservation of seats for the wards of the Registered Primary Members of the Co-operative Milk Union of Gujarat.

In B.Tech (Dairy & Food Technology) course offered by Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar thirty per cent (30%) seats are reserved for the wards of the registered primary members of the Co-operative milk union of Gujarat, within which 30% seats are reserved exclusively for girl candidates. This allocation also includes sub-divisions of reservation of the categorical allocation of seats to SC, ST, SEBC, and others as per Regulation. A candidate availing himself/herself of reserved seat shall be required to produce a certificate from the Managing Director of the respective Dairy in which he/she or his/her parents is/are pouring member.

Reservation of seats for the students who have passed H.S.C examination from Amreli district.

10% seats are reserved in Dairy Science College, Amreli, Kamdhenu University, for the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination from the centres of Amreli District in GSEB.

12. Admission to NRI / Payment Seats

A. No. of seats - As shown in Seat Matrix – I-III seats are reserved for NRI candidates. If NRI candidates are not available, these seats will be converted as Payment seats.

B. Eligibility

The Admission under N.R.I. quota will be given to the N.R.I ward strictly on merit basis on the marks obtained by them in the H.S.C.E or its equivalent examinations and after submitting the required documents proving the N.R.I. status of parents.

A candidate for payment seats the students having passed HSC or equivalent examination with PCM/ PCB/ PCMB along with English subject will be eligible for admission to respective Graduate programmes. For payment seat, candidate must have appeared in GUJCET-2012. The merit list will be prepared based on 60% marks obtained by them in PCM/PCB (theory) of the HSSCE or its equivalent and 40% marks obtained in GUJCET of current year PCM/PCB (theory) and being medically / physically fit.

13. Admission to foreign students.

The Candidature of foreign students shall be considered only, if they are sponsored by their respective National Government and/or by Government of India / ICAR.

14. PREPARATION OF MERIT LIST

(ii) Appropriate weightage will be given as per the prevailing rules wherever applicable. 3 The merit list shall be prepared for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri/B.Sc. (Hons.) Horti./ B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry/ B.F.Sc and

B.Sc. (Food Quality Assurance) considering (i) marks obtained in GUJCET (40% weightage) and HSCE (60% weightage) in theory papers of Physics,

Chemistry and Biology subjects. (ii) Appropriate weightage will be given as per the prevailing rules wherever applicable.

4 (i) The Merit list shall be prepared for B.V.Sc. & A.H., on the basis of 100% GUJCET marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology in the ratio of 30:30:40

(ii) No other weightage shall be considered for the admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. 5 The merit list shall be prepared for B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science & Nutrition and B.Sc. (Hons.) Nutrition &

Dietetics shall be as under :- (i) Aggregate marks obtained in the Science subjects at the HSC examination (ii) Appropriate weightage will be given as per the prevailing rules wherever applicable.

6 A separate merit list for N.R.I./Payment seats will prepared considering the choice of the candidate and as per the rules.

7 The central admission committee shall prepare group wise merit list and declare following separate merit lists for different groups viz.,

I The list includes the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from the Gujarat Board. Merit list of reserved category candidates shall be prepared separately.

II The list includes the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from the CBSE and other boards. Merit list of reserved category candidates shall be prepared separately

Explanation : A The available Seats shall be distributed on pro-rata basis taking into considerations the number of

students passed from the boards mentioned in (I) and (II). B No pro-rata will be taken into consideration for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H., degree programme

8 In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined in order of preference by application of criteria as under :- (i) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology or Mathematics, as the case may be (ii) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Physics. (Iii) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry. (iv) Candidates obtaining higher marks in English. (v) Aggregate marks obtained in qualifying examination (H.S.C.), and (vi) Candidates older in age.

9 Admission : A First round of admission. Following candidates will be included in the second round of the admission. The candidates will be granted admission on merit-cum preference based on available seats B Second round of admission. Following candidates will be included in the second round of admission. (i) The candidate who has reported in the college after admission in first round. 16. Forfeiting of fees and cancellation of conditions for admission During verification of documents at reporting time at respective college, if the Dean/Principal finds any certificate of testimony or information submitted by any candidate, incorrect or false,

(A) Token fee paid by the candidate shall be forfeited, in the following manner (i) For furnishing incorrect information or false certificate of Caste 100% and (ii) For furnishing any other incorrect information in the application form or any relevant certificate

found incorrect or false 50% (B) The candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled for admission to that year

17. General information of Study: The detailed information with respect of study, examination system, academic regulations, course

contents etc. will be available from the Principal of the concerned college. The academic regulations are subject to changes as approved by the competent authorities of the university from time to time. The Universities impart residential instructions for the graduate programmes at their constituent colleges with the eligibility and category wise minimum admission requirements. Under the Semester system of education, all students are compulsorily required to stay in a University hostels, except otherwise permitted.

18. Medium of Instruction :

The medium of instruction for education is English.

19. Anti Ragging Anti Ragging committee and squad are functioning in each university. Any one found guilty will be

suitably punished. FIR will be lodged against a students abusing fellow students.

20. Harassment to Girl / Woman Students A woman complaint mechanism cell is established for protection against harassment to girl/women

students. Any one found guilty will be punished suitably

21. Reporting at College Level

1 A student selected for admission shall become an enrolled student of the University only when he/she reports in person for his/her registration on due date with the following documents in original, attested photo copies and on payment of required fees.

a. S.S.C.E. (10th Pass) Mark sheet b. H.S.C.E. Mark sheet c . GUJCET Mark sheet of current year (if required)

d. Caste certificate (if candidate belongs to Scheduled caste / Scheduled tribe) & SEBC certificate along with Non Creamy Layer certificate of the current year issued by the Competent Authority, otherwise he/she will not be considered against SEBC reserved category.

e. 7/12 and 8-A certificate of current year for owing Agricultural land (if applicable) f. Certificate for having Fishing business or Fish production from Competent Authority from the

current year, if candidate belongs to fishing community.

g. Three Passport size photographs for preparation of identity card.

h. Character certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

i. Certificate of Ex-Serviceman, duly signed by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board, Gujarat State or by District Sainik Welfare Officer

j. Certificate of physical fitness from authorised medical practitioner. The candidate may also be examined by the Medical Officer of the University, if required.

2 A candidate who is not in a position to report for his/her first registration on due date due to unavoidable circumstances, may obtain provisional registration by paying fees on or before the date fixed for registration. H e shall require to complete the remaining formalities of registration within one week from the date of commencement of the semester, failing which his registration will stand cancelled.

3 A student enrolled in the University will be given a registration number to be used along with his name in all the concerned academic documents.

4 An identity card shall be issued to every enrolled student. It shall be carried by him and shown when required. In case the identity card is lost, a new one shall be issued on payment of fine of 50/-.

1. PROCEDURE FOR PRINTING CHALLAN FORM

1.1. Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/ Central Board of Secondary

Education Board/ Council of Indian School Certificate Examination/ International School

Board/ Maharashtra Board or National Institute of Open Schooling students who have passed

HSC Examination from science stream have to get the Bank challan from

http://www.gsauca.in.

1.2. FIGURE 1.1. displays the form for getting the challan from the portal.

1.3. Applicant’s Name in the challan form needs to be same as std. X or XII. After filling up the

applicant’s name click on “Click here to Print the Challan Form”. This would lead to the

challan print page. Please submit the challan print at any “State Bank of India”.

1.4. Please keep the Candidate’s copy after filling up the Challan form at any of the “State Bank

of India” branch. Please see FIGURE . 1.2.

1.5. Applicant will be eligible to fill up the form on next working day after 16.00 hours of

depositing of challan amount.

2. PROCEDURE FOR FILLING UP APPLICATION FORM

2.1. Challan information i.e. Date of Challan filled, Challan No. and Branch Code would

be needed to fill the application form. Fill in the details in the Challan Information form.

Without the challan information the applicant cannot fill the application form.

2.2. Online form can be filled up next day only after 16.00 hour after successful deposition of

application fee Rs.500/- through Bank Challan in any branch of State Bank of India. For

Example, if you have deposited Rs.500/- on 07-06-2012, then you can fill up the online form

on 08-06-2012 only after 16.00 hours.

2.3. The challan information form would be like FIGURE . 2.1.

2.4. If the details filled is appropriate it would lead you to the application form. The

application form would look like FIGURE . 2.2. and 2.3.

2.5. The Details in the form must be correct and proper. During admission process the

details would be validated.

2.6. Application form would change automatically based on selection of Course

completed, Board, stream, group, and other few more fields.

2.7. The form filling would work only if Full Name, What have you passed,

Correspondence address (including Address, City, Taluka, District, State, Pincode), Contact

Information (i.e. Mobile No. and Email Address), Category, Date of Birth (which is linked

with Age on 31st of Dec. field) are properly filed.

2.8. Based on “What you have passed” selection i.e. if Std. XII then marks of XIIth

would

also be mandatory.

2.9. If the candidate has done vocational course marks of it needs to be filled.

2.10. The photo needs to be jpg/png/gif/bmp format. Size of image cannot be more

than 2 MB.

2.11. Applicant with Non-creamy Layer Certificate would have to fill the Issue Date

of the certificate.

2.12. Applicant belonging to farmer community and having Certificate of 7-12 and 8A

needs to fill up the issue date with a certificate of relationship between land holder.

2.13. Applicant belonging to fisherman community and having certificate from Assistant

Director of Fisheries Department stating your family to be having fishing business or fish

production.

2.14. Applicant needs to accept the agreement.

2.16. Click on Submit to move further to the next step of filling application, i.e. selection of

colleges you are interested in applying for.

2.17. NOTE: after clicking submit, you would receive email and SMS (based on network

availability and on TRAI norms) having application ID. The application ID can be used

for further process, i.e. college priority selection or for printing of application form if

college preferential priority has been done.

3. PROCEDURE FOR SELECTING PREFERRED COLLEGES WITH PRIORITY

3.1. After completely filling up the form, selecting of preferred colleges needs to be done.

3.2. Based on eligibility list of colleges will be shown. Priority number against the colleges

should not be repeated and highest priority number will be starting from 1 to the no. of

colleges the applicant wants to apply.

3.3. The colleges in which the applicant doesn’t want to apply for then 0 (Zero) is to be

typed in Priority.

4. CONFIRMATION OF PRIORITY

4.1. Next screen would ask you to confirm if the priority details are proper or you can to click

back to edit the priority selections.

form then click on Confirm.

4.4. This would send an SMS and email (based on network availability and TRAI norms)

6. Deposition of Token Fee in the State Bank of India

6.1. Merit would be displayed on the portal and you would be required to check and use the portal

for the purpose.

6.2. Based on merit and your selection for any college, your challan for token fees would be

accessible through the website www.gsauca.in and can be printed.

6.3. The challan is to be filled at any “State Bank of India” branch.

6.4. The challan certified and confirmed by the bank is to be submitted on the day of reporting for

admission at respective college.
